The Irish stew sounded pretty irresistible and it was! It came plated very stylishly, more than I would have expected for a pub! The stew was very hearty with LOTS of meat and carrots, potatoes, and onions cooked to perfection. There was also a large puff pastry that was served on the side. This was seasoned generously and a wonderful accompaniment. I thought it was pretty unique addition. My boyfriend ordered the Shepherd's Pie. This was another modern plated dish. The pie filling could be seen quite well as there was only a swirl of potatoes in the middle, kind of like whipped cream on a dessert which was not exactly as expected. It was also a much smaller portion than my entree so he wound up eating some of mine. The service really wasn't bad at all! Drinks and food were received in a timely manner and we were offered refills too. When it came time to pay for the cheque, they were willing to let us each pay separate which was no small feat for a table of 7 and was much appreciated by us.
