My cousin and I went here on a recommendation of our guide. The place brought me back to my time in Ireland. The drinks were flowing and the atmosphere warm and cheerful. We had hoped to get dinner. We waited for 20+ minutes to order drinks and we had wanted to get dinner, but our waitress hurried away before we could get the words out. We finally got our drinks about 20 minutes or more later and told her we wanted to order food. It was 9:01 pm. She informed us the kitchen was closed and walked away. So, more than 40 minutes of waiting and that was that. Very disappointed on the service but the espresso martini was delicious and my cousin enjoyed her pint. read more

Great place to watch football and serves great Schnitzel. One can always rely on an Irish pub, when abroad, to show English football. The pub has several big screens and projectors and provides a weekly schedule of which football games will be played that week, from Bundesliga to English Premier League. Superb! Whilst visiting to watch a game of football and after a hike around Königstuhl, I was enticed by the Schnitzel and beer offer for 9,90€. After seeing that they had Jägerschnitzel on the menu, I knew precisely what I would be ordering. During my visit, it was the first time I ordered Heidelberg Weißbier, and I liked it! The staff were excellent on both my visits, and the pub itself offers a cosy traditional Irish pub setting, and located halfway up Haupstrasse. Also, passing late on a Friday evening, it seems to be party central. I heard everyone inside blasting out rock ballads. read more

We love it here! Great location right in the center of it all. And I have to say the staff went above and beyond to make us happy. It's a cute combo of bar restaurant and hotel. You can find a parking garage near town hall. There are no elevators. 10% off at bar if u stay there. Rooms are small but comfortable. We got a room with a little balcony- very adorable. Yum yum yum! We were here last Sunday and my 3 year old ate here for free! She had the pasta. We also had shepherds pie, the fish and chips, mushroom pizza, black velvet(cider and stout), latte macchiato, and this beer. Service was excellent, our server was really nice and considerate. Well, it says its an Irish pub and they serve Guinness & cidar and show the footie but I'm just not convinced. Maybe because its on the Hauptstrasse but it feels more German than Irish to me. I had a burger and it was ok. It was what I like to call a German burger. It was a pressed patty that had been steamed I think. I've had a few of these since I've been in Germany. They're ok but just not quite what I'd expect as a burger. They have loads of TVs for the footie and they even show American football on Sundays. Its a good location, easy to get to but I prefer O'Reilly's across the river in Neuenheim. read more

I've honestly never personally stayed in the Dubliner overnight, thus I can only review the bar/restaurant. Marking the heart of the hauptstrasse, this two story joint is notorious for being one of the main American hotspots in the city, due to its English staff and superb location. Separating the shopping and dining hemispheres of the hauptstrasse, the dubliner is the perfect place to start off a good night, as it offers a comfortable yet easygoing vibe and is a bit more welcoming than some of the more intense bars down the road. The staff can be a bit impatient/rude, but if approached in a friendly manner, are willing to accompany any request, and can even set up an impromptu beer-pong tournament in the back room. I've had nothing but great experiences here, and hope the hotel offers just as much as the bar does downstairs. read more

An Irish pub in Heidelberg...well you find them everywhere. I wrote an earlier review and I must've hit them on a bad day, but this was so much better. The staff was very friendly, it was nice getting good Irish beer. I will be back this year again when I am in Germany again. read more

to address the complain of csheal, there are plenty of other irish pubs in baden-württemberg, as well as in germany, so if you really want an irish pub, you might want to try ireland! but anyway, as a pub dubliners isn't bad. they've got some weird guinness beers on the menu, which are interesting to try. the food is kind of like irish pub food but not really. that doesn't mean it isn't tasty. i had a ginormous farmer burger (with fried egg on top--mmm, artery clogging!) with great fries. the service can be a bit slow, but hey, there were lots of people inside, and that means business is steady and good. i have never been at the pub for live music, but it sounds like a fun time. if you absolutely need an irish bar, this should do the trick on a monday or a friday night. i'm not a sports fan, but i can imagine this is also a fine place to watch football. read more

The Dubliner is the best place to drink and socialize on the Hauptstrasse. St. Patty's Day, Klitchsko fights, World Cup games, you name it as it is always a blast there. Great prices for great bar food. If you just feel like going out and want a sure bet, then this is the place to go. read more
