How wrong I was! It's a gorgeous set-up with chandeliers and fabric draped across the ceiling with luxurious silky curtains. It reminded me of a princess's dressing room (and boy does she have good taste!) No two items are the same and they choose only the finest quality vintage outfits, none of that run of the mill 'I'll have to sew that here, and take that up there' nonsense. They not only sell vintage but also designer and upcoming labels which are all mixed together on the rails, hanging lovingly side by side could be a stunning designer dress and a 1920s vintage piece. The price ranges are as varied as the styles with dresses ranging from £20 to around £500 so everyone has the opportunity to buy their little piece of unique clothing! The accessories were amazing, they had headbands, brooches, rings, earrings... all sorts of little gems that would be great as gifts or as a personal treat, now these were the real bargains, all carefully handpicked and oh so cheap. Forget the common Topshop dresses and the outfit clashes and purchase some top quality threads from a boutique that will make you feel like royalty. They had some beautiful prom dress style formal wear, I just need an occasion and I'll be back with my credit card quicker than you can say Gok Wan.

The Little Boutique stocks dresses mostly: colourful, sequinned, silk and satin, things that you'd wear for a party, a night out or a day at the races. All the extras and accessories are available with lots of jewellery and hair pieces all laid out on dressing tables. In all honesty, I do feel The Little Boutique is a little overpriced as the stock, while it may be handmade/designer/boutique/one-off, whatever, it can often appear a little, well, tacky, even dare I say tarty, perhaps that's a little harsh, as I say I like to browse here, and the staff are really genuine always saying hello and allowing you to look around freely.

And on top of that you have to spend your life wearing granny bras and over-the-shoulder-bolder-holders. Now that there's a Bravissimo in Liverpool, all that has changed. Say goodbye to your dull grey bosom buddies that could theoretically be used as hammocks. Bravissimo stocks girly, colourful bras that fit all sizes, even the sizes that you didn't dream were physically possible without surgical enhancement. Not only that, they also have a range of clothes and swimwear for the top-heavy lady. I'm not really bothered about the swimwear, as I don't like strap marks so my bikinis usually disappear as long as no one's looking, but the clothes are essential. Available in curvy, really curvy or super curvy, even the sizes don't make you think of yourself as overly big. A must have for all top heavy women, but good for 'normal' sizes too. If you haven't discovered Bravissimo yet, I pity your boyfriends.....

They come in all shapes, sizes and colours so it doesn't matter if you want to look pretty in pink or bold in blue, they have it all. Their prices are normally higher than most standard stores but this is understandable due to their difference. Bravissimo is not your average shop and you will not find any shop similar nearby, so it is a great place to find what you're looking for.

Same sorts of clothes as everywhere else, and a small shoe and bag section, with some additional accessories near the till. For some reason there always seems to be a lot of mums with pushchairs in here, though I can't quite figure out why. Prices are competitive, quality occasionally questionable, but generally a pretty decent clothes shop.

I must say, I preferred the old store near Lewis's, while the stock was similar, the shop was larger and brighter, there was more stuff and more space to look; it was a little decrepit, but it wasn't in St John's which I tend to find dark and claustrophobic Now there is no alternative I shop here. The stock is variable with some obligatory tat but an occassional bargain (as with most of these style stores) and the staff are always on hand and very helpful.
