The live room is a good size and is attracting some very good musicians from Melbourne. The food is unpretentious but well done. A good selection of drinks and the cocktails seem to be quite popular. The vibe is kind of faded European glory and it's very well done too. There are lots of places to sit and have a communal yet private feeling as well. If you live in the area you have to make Sooki Lounge a regular hangout.

In a way it really has a lot to do with it being located in the outer suburbs, which tends to suggest a rather stock standard selection of beers. This is probably because the building does look rather newish, though I would sort of put it at being about the 60s or 70s when they didn't put much pride in their design. The beer selection was quite limited as well, but as I said, it is a country pub. However, they do have some nice displays on the wall, and the view from the beer garden is nice, so I'll give it that.

Every time I've been to Oscars I've been served well and staff know the drinks, Brad chooses everything himself and doesn't put just anything on the menu. This system indicates to me a true love of what he does and giving a shit about the things that are served up. Oscar's has live bands, poetry nights and other artsy events from time to time.
