The food, especially the Shepherds Pie and the steak, were perfectly cooked and delicious. The location itself was wonderful, cosy and sweet on the inside and also the outside area was beautiful. It is part of the Thai Group (thaigrooup.co.uk) of British restaurants serving authentic Thai food in the UK. It is also very delicious. We have another Thai restaurant in Wallingford, but I don't think the food compares. Thai Orchid's food was by far tastier. Plus, I asked for something not on the menu and the chef complied. It was extremely clean, and service was fast and genial. I have to admit the other Thai place is preferred by the locals and is usually busy, and we have been asked to come back another day. If that happens to you, just walk over the bridge and go to Thai Orchid. I feel lucky to have the choice of two Thai restaurants close to me, but given the choice between the two, I'd go to Thai Orchid every time. Also, its exact address is: 72 The Street

You know that you are getting fresh food from a staff that cares. The wait staff are from all over the world and trying their best be understand the English language as well as culture. They all were very delightful and working hard to ensure you have a wonderful time. I had a lovely salad and even better salmon cook perfectly. Not to say that they are always batting 100, but more than not. Recently, they've removed their little host table where menus were kept before seating you in the restaurant. I prefer to go up to the bar first to check-in. The bartender that we recently had was a perfectionist. I wanted a dirty vodka martini, and I like it filthy. He went searching for olive juice from the kitchen. Unfortunately, they didn't have it that day, but instead he made me an amazing lemon drop. So good, I had two! This place really does a good job and spot on with service, integrity, and food that I get in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you're visiting Wallingford, this is THE place to stop.
