I've been seeing Dr. Hunter since we moved to South Carolina in 2010. She was recommended by a friend who is a nurse. My friend said that Dr. Hunter was who all the medical personnel go to, so off I went. Yes, sometimes I have waited at least a half hour after my appointment time, but I always bring a book. Free reading time! I've waited longer to see other physicians. Dr. Hunter has always answered all my questions and I trust her. I was treated for melanoma prior to moving. I made an appointment for 11:15, and I showed up 15 minutes early like the information given to me said. I completed all the forms prior to getting there. When I tried to check in, the lady was dismissive and told me to sign in on the sheet and she'd call me. At 11:45, 30 minutes after my appointment, she called my name to tell me that I was missing information on my forms. I filled out the forms quickly, even though I had already filled them out online. I asked her when her best estimate for me getting in would be, because I made the appointment knowing I have class later. I assumed because I made an appointment that I would be taken back within the hour that I got there. The blonde lady told me that she can't give me an estimate and that it will be whenever they call me. I followed up and asked her if there was a better way to make an appointment to ensure that I would be seen within a reasonable time frame of my appointment and she said no. I'm super frustrated with my experience, and am going to potentially have to miss my appointment or miss my class unless they get me in within the next hour. read more

Took almost 45 minutes to be called back to have a procedure done. Horrible bedside manner. Was very passive aggressive in the way she addresses the patient. Left the room during the procedure for 20 plus minutes while the patient had an open wound. Would not recommend. read more

I would not recommend The Dermatology Group in Lexington, SC to anyone. I wrnt for an initial consultation with Dr. Hunter. I waited for almost an hour to be seen for maybe 5 minutes. Dr. Hunter came in and barely had 10 words to say to me. she had a very rude bed side manner. I left out of her office with the same information about my skin as when I walked in. The appointment was a waste of my time. When I called and scheduled the appointment, I asked how much the initial consultation would be. I was told between $140 to $250 depending on what procedures are done. There was absolutely no procedures done other than just look at me and say a few words and I was charged $240. I asked the manager how am I charged this rate and he explained that it's just the way the doctor coded it and that's it. I do not mind paying for services but to be charged the upper amount for absolutely nothing is ridiculous. read more

My appointment with Dr. Hunter was at 9:30am and I got there a little bit early to fill out some paperwork. I did not get called back to see the doctor until 11:00am. It was mostly Dr. Hunter's nurse asking me questions and then Dr. Hunter came in for not even 2 minutes asked to look at the rash on my leg. Glanced at it and said it was eczema and left. She told me to stop wearing perfume and wrote a prescription for a cream. I have no clue why she told me to stop wearing perfume when I don't put any on my leg and she didn't take the time to discuss what else it could be or if it was a allergic reaction to something. There has to be a better dermatologist out there. read more

Dr. Hunter is the best. When it comes to dermatology, you've gotta have someone you trust. They've gotta get it right and the good doctor and her staff certainly do. You may have to wait for a few minutes to see her, but worth the wait. read more

After waiting almost an hour, I finally got to talk to Dr. Hunter who completely dismissed my assessment of my allergic dermatitis. She insisted it was bites, gave me some cream, and sent me on my way. Well, my condition got MUCH worse until I stopped all my medications in frustration. Guess what? It went away. So I am correct, I am allergic to something, but now I know not to go here for help with finding out WHAT is causing it. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I have scars because of this misdiagnosis and feel like others should be aware. read more

Terrible, charged over two hundred for a 10 minute appointment where doc did even bother to give advice or offer any therapeutic measures to use in conjunction with prescriptions which had to be ordered out of state and took weeks to arrive. Doc said severe acne was due to mask and I asked why acne was all over where the mask didn't cover and got got offended and snippy about a simple question. We were on time for appointment but waited in waiting room watching others come in after us get called back first. Later when we had concerns about medications it took them two days to call back one time and no call back the second time. read more

Dr. Hunter is my dermatologist and if anything, more thorough than most other doctors. She is friendly and caring as is her staff. I've never had a bad experience with Dr. Hunter or her office staff. read more

Honestly, a waste of time to even come here. Waited 40 minutes in the lobby for the DR. To talk to me for 10 minutes to basically tell me that I don't know what's going on with my own body. Although I've dealt with this problem for years. She does not listen well at all. If you want someone with compassion and care for the practice you will not find it here. read more

Dr. Diana Hunter is very rude and condensing. She makes the patient feel dumb and stupid about asking questions about medicines and treatment plans. Definitely will not recommend her as doctor to anyone. She is not kind at all and seems very fake. She was in such a rush to get in out, that she made my questions not important at all. She most definitely needs to work on her beside manners. Definitely will not be back either. read more

DO NOT ask Dr. Hunter to do ANYTHING other than LOOK at your skin unless you want to find out a month later that you owe a lot of money for basically nothing. I asked about a tiny red bump on my leg and she said "oh I can take care of it for you" as if it was no big deal. A month later, I got 2 bills from my insurer telling me that I owe $143 for "surgery" and $84 for Lab Pathology. None of that was even hinted at when I was in there. She should at least give you a heads up that you may have to pay more than your copay. Since my visit, I have spoken to two friends who had similar (or worse) experiences. I feel that she is taking advantage of people by not giving her patients some idea that they will have to pay more than just their copay. Also, Dr. Hunter walked in the room at 12:30 for my 11:30 appointment with no apology or even an acknowledgement that I had been waiting an hour. Very unprofessional. My advice...DO NOT GO TO DR. I went to see this doctor because I had strange spots/plaques on various parts of my body. Her nurse/assistant looked at a few of them and was very nice. The doctor then came in, told me I had "psoriasis or eczema," didn't bother looking at a single spot, wrote me a prescription, and walked out. That was after I had waited well over an hour past my appointment time. When I got home that evening, I had a panicked voicemail from her office telling me NOT to use the cream that she wrote me because it would cause serious damage to certain areas where I had plaques. Candidly, I'm surprised they even caught this mistake since the doctor didn't bother looking at a SINGLE spot on my body. I am also very pale with a family history of skin cancer, and Dr. Grice showed zero interest in checking my skin. I went to a new dermatologist last month and had a completely different experience. She spent at least 45 minutes with me, did a whole body check, wrote me prescriptions that are SO much more effective, and helped me develop a skincare routine to make sure to take good care of my skin. Really, really disappointed with Dr. Grice. Her bedside manner was absolutely awful, she didn't even look at my skin, and she seemed wholly uninterested in me. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy go see her. Honestly, she should lose her medical license based on the consistently awful reviews on here. read more

If you can go somewhere else then you should. The only friendly staff are those that check you in otherwise everyone else lacks any bedside manner. On top of it all the wait to be seen is ridiculous. I've had three appointments and each time I've had to wait a minimum of 45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. After reading the past reviews I was very nervous going to Dr. Grice but she was great! I really do not understand what the others are saying. She took her time and explained the procedure to me (Mole removal) then made sure that I had no questions and was ready before beginning. All staff in the office were friendly as well.
