I visited the Deeps to take the pictures which you can see on the wordpress blog referred to above. The house is indeed special. Previously owned by Rowan Atkinson it sits, alone, in a field with a small forest to one side and long views on the other. Its a good house for dogs as you have secure walling and then the rear field is left empty of stock and ready for guests to walk their dogs. You are not overlooked and in fact you can't see any other houses. This means that there is no light pollution and you get brilliant stars at night.
The house is well furnished, maybe a few to many ornaments for our taste ...but well done indeed.
The area around Blanchland is one of outstanding beauty and there is great walking around here. Also lots of history as well. read more
