Restrooms are outside just a short walk from main entrance. Ticket booth center of building on the outside, single window so plan accordingly. There was only one person ahead of me on arrival about 20 minutes prior to the show to pick up my ticket. Very friendly staff, quickly directed to my seat with ease. Seats are a little aged, but this is also a historic place to enjoy shows. Had clear stage with single level angled seating arrangement. Concessions had a good little variety of drinks and snacks to choose from (no cash, card only). Glad I was able to catch a show in this historic venue!

Because it's an older theater, their solution to a smaller parking lot is to have everyone park in a long row, and they make you pull up so that you're bumper to bumper. If the cars in front of you hustle to the parking lot, it's fine. If they don't, you're stuck until they show up as the cars park so close you can't even get out. I don't love that, but there is nowhere else around to park nearby. The lobby is pretty small and gets very crowded before the doors open. There are snacks and souvenirs for purchase. They don't have a bag check, so I brought my own water, which was great. The theater itself is small and cozy, so most seats will have a good view. I saw Come from Away and was definitely seated closer and more affordably than I could have been in a NYC venue. The performers were all very talented - this isn't just some locals who got on stage. The warned many, many times there was no intermission, and they wouldn't let you back in if you needed to use the restroom, which seemed a bit extreme. There were a lot of other good shows in the upcoming season, so if you are from nearby or staying in the area, it's worth checking out what's on stage. It's a good experience at a good price.

I was able to get my ticket online. When I showed up for the film, I was surprised to learn that building opened in 1878 and still has so much character. The theater is beautiful and even the lobby and restrooms are unique. All of the staff was helpful and friendly as well. It holds about 900 people, so I imagine it'd be great for a concert as well. I sat 10th row, center and had a perfect view of the screen. The sound was solid as well, but don't expect IMAX or anything like that. I'm glad I popped in. I don't know if I'll ever be in Portsmouth again but if I am, I'd happily stop in again for a show or film.

The Music Hall - For my money, this 17-year-old is the best young singer around. I'd stream her singing the alphabet - on repeat.

My goodness, what a powerful, thought-provoking piece. My mom and I were still talking about and analyzing the play hours later. Meanwhile, the 2 theater staff people who checked us in were beyond friendly and accommodating. My mom uses a cane and has unsteady gait, and they assured us they'd find us easily accessible seats and they did (we were nervous going in because it was open seating and we arrived just 5 mins before curtain went up--we didn't realize was open seating until looking at the ticket reservation while driving over). I suppose places have to be accommodating because of ADA law, but there's no law requiring them to be warm & kind about it

This led to my partner and I having to sit apart, and quite far from each other. A show we were supposed to enjoy together, and instead we had to sit next to strangers, on chairs they had to bring out because there was literally no space. The staff didn't even apologize for overselling the show, so we left wondering if it's a normal practice at this theater? The production of Frankenstein was beautiful, and that's what saved the night. I also must note that the ambiance and vibe inside the theater was lovely, too.

I sat stage right, at table 311 and had a clear view even though it's labels as partial obstructed. The two columns on that side of the room are thin and aren't anything to worry about. The BT ALC Big Band lit up the room with an incredible blend of big band jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop, and the special guest, Nephrok!, brought amazing energy and personality to the stage. Jimmy's offered two great options for the night: a first-floor dinner-and-a-show package, and a third-floor countdown experience with a midnight champagne toast. The atmosphere was festive without feeling crowded, the sound was crystal clear, and the whole evening felt really well organized. Nephrok and the BT ALC Big Band were both outstanding -- tight, lively, and a blast to watch. Altogether, it was one of those nights you don't forget. Jimmy's continues to be one of the best live music venues around.
