The Ogunquit Playhouse is one of the original "summer stock" theaters and has produced countless musicals. My friends and I planned a quick road trip to see some of our favorite actors in Hello Dolly... all aspects of the production were incredible ... actors, musicians, sets, costumes, etc. Can't wait to come back! It was a wonderful experience.

I was able to get my ticket online. When I showed up for the film, I was surprised to learn that building opened in 1878 and still has so much character. The theater is beautiful and even the lobby and restrooms are unique. All of the staff was helpful and friendly as well. It holds about 900 people, so I imagine it'd be great for a concert as well. I sat 10th row, center and had a perfect view of the screen. The sound was solid as well, but don't expect IMAX or anything like that. I'm glad I popped in. I don't know if I'll ever be in Portsmouth again but if I am, I'd happily stop in again for a show or film.

Just saw a play (The Wasp) here last night and was blown away! The production was absolutely as…read moresolid as plays I've seen at Lincoln Center; The Huntington; ART, etc. The actors were both excellent--it seemed like they really were the 2 characters/roles they were playing! My goodness, what a powerful, thought-provoking piece. My mom and I were still talking about and analyzing the play hours later. Meanwhile, the 2 theater staff people who checked us in were beyond friendly and accommodating. My mom uses a cane and has unsteady gait, and they assured us they'd find us easily accessible seats and they did (we were nervous going in because it was open seating and we arrived just 5 mins before curtain went up--we didn't realize was open seating until looking at the ticket reservation while driving over). I suppose places have to be accommodating because of ADA law, but there's no law requiring them to be warm & kind about it

It was at the now defunct Damariscotta Performing Arts Center, housed in a converted barn still faintly redolent of pigeons. We learned about the performance on a now defunct local radio station, WAVX and bought tickets. It was a rainy night and we had a short drive back to the B&B where we were staying in Wiscasset. The concert was wonderful and we bought all 5 of his CDs, which we continue to enjoy. We are planning a trip back to Maine the end of August. Today I received an email from Paul Sullivan about summer concerts he will be performing. The final one will be September 6th, in Ogunquit, where we will be staying. We were due to leave Ogunquit that day for Rockport, but have rearranged our schedule so we can attend the concert that night and move to Rockport the next day. I bought a couple of tickets online via the Ogunquit Performing Arts website. The process was easy and prices were extremely reasonable. We are looking forward to this treat.

I sat stage right, at table 311 and had a clear view even though it's labels as partial obstructed. The two columns on that side of the room are thin and aren't anything to worry about. I walked the whole venue and the only area where views are truly obstructed are inside the bar area, especially at the ends of the bar. The sound was great. The crowd was engaged but respectful. The food, drinks and service were all top notch as well. If someone you like is playing here, then you're in luck.

Plenty of parking close to the entrance, a beautiful outside space to sit and wait, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming! The theater space itself is very small, but impressive for what it is, and the seats were much more comfortable than other small theatres I've attended in the area in the past. If I had one very small complaint, it is that Google Maps and Waze both directed us to the wrong place so we had to do a bit of hunting to actually find it- but that isn't the fault of the theatre itself, and it was easily enough resolved with a couple of extra minutes driving around. We will definitely be keeping an eye out to see what's available here in the future!

We didn't purchase our tickets until the day before, but had no problems getting good seats. We arrived about a half hour early to pick up our tickets at will call and since it was a very cold, windy day didn't want to venture back outside to wait so purchased a glass of wine in the lobby and went into the actual theater to find our seats. Very friendly ushers escorted us to our assigned seats which were in the center with great views of the stage. The theater is small so there are really no bad seats as far as being able to see. Unless you are able to get an aisle seat, you will be very close to your neighbor and don't wear a big bulky coat because you will be very squished trying to keep it on your seat. Leg room isn't great, but not the worse either. Shows are always well performed and the price for tickets is more than reasonable. Beverages and some snacks are available in the lobby and you can take them into the theater. It is a great place to go if you are in the area!
