Overall I have had a good experience with Cyclepath. I am an avid cyclist so it is nice to have a local shop that I can depend on. Great experience interacting with staff and buying my new Norco Fatty with Bionx pedal assist on January 8th 2016 the feeling over there is always one like a "home" welcoming and relaxed confidence in their pro shop when interacting with staff. As a visitor working in the Hat and a normally a regular costumer at a Calgary bike shop my decision to make this purchase at Cyclepath Medicine Hat was their humbleness to the casual drop in customer just looking around like i did and not throwing fancy bike tech terminology around because they could, the conversation flow with the staff member i had when in there to buy my first ever "Riding Bibs" was one of genuine interest for the sport witch led to me joining there spin classes Thursday evenings (its always fantastic) they have a relationship with the 670 Mtn Bike Club as well, and have they have bike rides with them during the summer (awesome). When i had expressed an interest in a fat bike they asked me if had the time to demo the Fat Bike by riding around the area of Elk Water with the Owner! i was expecting to just give it a whirl around the parking lot but hey to the deep snowy trails i went with Greg, him driving and being the host and talking about the Norco factory the Bionx abilities Fat bikeing and of course the side by side trail riding thru hub deep snow with bran-new Fatties and no commitment to buy...who does that sort of thing anymore? i didn't have a proper bike rack for my new bike so they sent Me home with their loner until mine comes in,wow... who does that sort of thing? the boys at Cyclepath in Medicine Hat do, that much i know. Dude, first of all I used to work there and can say that they do not strip down frames and put crappier components on them. Do you know how much labour costs? The amount of labour it would cost to strip down a bike to the frame then build it up with crappier parts would actually add to the cost of the bike! Why would anyone do that? It makes no sense at all! Look at the specs online for any bike in there and I guarantee if you look at the bike on the floor it will be the same unless the factory made an change halfway through production. My suggestion is to not make crazy accusations unless they are solid fact! You can get sued for spreading rumours like this, its defamation, or slander and that is a fact! read more
