1 Star - Absolutely Unacceptable Treatment by Management!…read more I have never experienced anything like this in my life! What started as a wonderful evening with great food turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we have ever had. Our bill was $200, and we left a $40 tip -- exactly 20% of our bill. Apparently, that wasn't good enough for the manager! After enjoying our dinner, we were told we could no longer sit at the outdoor tables because, according to the manager, our tip wasn't worth it. I was absolutely shocked! Since when is a 20% tip not enough? And since when does a restaurant get to decide how customers should be treated based on how much they tip? I had no idea tipping was mandatory at a certain amount just to be treated with basic respect! We paid our bill, left what I consider a very reasonable tip, and were still made to feel unwelcome. It was embarrassing, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. The food was excellent, but the management ruined the entire experience. A restaurant can serve the best food in town, but if its management treats paying customers this way, none of that matters. I have visited many restaurants throughout my life, and I have NEVER been treated this way over a tip. Management should understand that tips are meant to recognize service, not determine whether customers deserve respect. Absolutely unacceptable! I hope the owners see this review and take a serious look at how their manager treats customers.

Five Stars for the Lighthouse Bar -- And Especially April!…read moreWhat a fantastic place to enjoy a drink, relax, and take in the beautiful waterfront atmosphere! The Lighthouse has a lot going for it, but one of its biggest treasures is behind the bar. Her name is April, and she's an absolute gem! She's beautiful, charming, quick-witted, and has a smile that can brighten anyone's day. But what really makes her stand out is her personality. She knows how to make people laugh, keeps the conversation flowing, and has a natural ability to make everyone feel like a regular, even on their first visit. April brings that perfect combination of class, humor, professionalism, and a little sass that makes a great bartender unforgettable! The Lighthouse has a beautiful view, but April is one of the reasons people will want to come back! Five stars for the atmosphere, the bar, and especially April!

Mission accomplished. Lighthouse Waterfront is huge with a big dining rm on one side and another section closer to the left overlooking the outdoor deck sitting right on the water. If you're chasing sunset vibes, this deck is where it's at. We started with a dozen meaty oysters and a hot crab dip with crispy wontons to dip. For our main plates, hubs ordered the thick-cut bone-in pork chop and loved it while I went with the seasoned grilled swordfish. I had the Dubai Chocolate cocktail and I'll give them props for that pistachio rim and the dark chocolate drizzle.....that Hershey's syrup crap. The only downside was it could've packed a punch. But then again- between my recent trip to Miami/Ft Lauderdale and now Sanibel...I haven't had a drink that would know the shit out me here. No offense. Anyhow, to wrap things up, we shared a slice of key lime pie. That's basically mandatory when you're down here. It was good, but honestly, the real treat was watching that Sanibel sunset. Service was ok- I just wished our young server was more present. On the plus side, when he'd showed up, he made sure to help at any given moment. We finished dinner, headed out to the deck and soaked in every second of the sunset before making our way to catch the fireworks elsewhere.

From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel incredibly welcome and are super helpful. You'll be impressed by the generous portion sizes, and the prices are just as great, making it a no brainer. One of the best things is how quickly the food arrives, and it's absolutely delicious. My French dip was packed with so much meat that you might only manage to eat half - it's that loaded! And if you're a fan of seafood, you're in for a treat; it's incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. I'm already planning my next trip back!

I asked the waitress if the potatoes were deep-fried because if they were I did not want them. And she had a look that she didn't understand me, but didn't ask or clarify anything. My husband ordered the country skillet. The coffee was delicious He said the country skillet was very good.. My omelette did not have any mushrooms in it. But what was odd it was the shredded potatoes and she had the Kitchen deep fry the shredded potatoes. When I asked her about that, she replied with "you said you wanted them deep fried" I said no I said I didn't want them if they were deep fried. She said "Let me see if I can get you another side" She came back with the hashbrowns not deep fried. The omelet itself appeared to be cooked in oil as it was very greasy. I chose ham as my meat specifically to avoid this kind of an outcome The potatoes were also very heavy in oil , or whatever it is, they used to cook them with The food came out quickly and the waitress is very nice. If I go back, I'd probably just get poached eggs in a bowl with a side of ham.

We saved Wickies Lighthouse Restaurant for our final dinner of a weeklong trip to Sanibel Island,…read moreand it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire vacation. Every seat in the restaurant was filled, which tells you everything you need to know. Make a reservation because this place is incredibly popular. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our server was warm, attentive, and somehow managed to provide exceptional service despite the restaurant being completely packed. The entire staff made our last night on the island feel special. We forgot to take photos of the appetizers, but trust me, don't skip them. The fried green tomatoes were the unanimous favorite at our table and an absolute must-order. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also ordered the conch fritters, which our family always seeks out whenever we're in Florida, and these were honestly some of the best we've ever had. The crab cakes were delicious as well, but the fried green tomatoes and conch fritters definitely stole the show. For my entrée, I ordered the Quinoa Steak Salad, and I was shocked by the size. The portion is enormous and could easily be shared by two people, or even serve as a family-style salad for three or four. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the combination of quinoa, avocado, fresh vegetables, and cheese made it both hearty and refreshing. Several people at our table ordered the evening special, the blackened snapper over mushroom risotto, and it was phenomenal. The snapper was perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor, while the creamy mushroom risotto complemented it beautifully. It was easily one of the standout dishes of the evening. The honey glazed salmon was another favorite at our table. The braised short ribs were rich, tender, and beautifully presented. One person in our group ordered the stuffed lobster and thoroughly enjoyed it, mentioning both the flavor and the generous portion size. The fish tacos were good, but with so many exceptional dishes on the table, they simply weren't the standout. Between the exceptional food, generous portions, outstanding service, and lively atmosphere, this was the perfect way to end our week on Sanibel Island. It's easy to see why every table was full. If you're visiting Sanibel, make reservations in advance. This restaurant is popular for a reason, and after dining here, we completely understand why. Five stars. We can't wait to come back.

We love…read morebreakfast, and after trying so many places over the years, it can start to feel like every menu offers the same dishes prepared the same way. Lighthouse Cafe managed to make a classic breakfast memorable. We ordered the French toast, and the portion was huge and easy to split. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious. The eggs we ordered were cooked exactly as needed, the bacon was perfectly crisp, and the cheese grits were rich, creamy, and full of flavor. We literally cleaned our plates and ate every bite despite our intentions to simple stop by for a taste. One of the biggest surprises was adding fish to breakfast. It's not something I would have ever thought to eat for breakfast, but it ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fish was incredibly tender and paired surprisingly well with the rest of the meal. It was such a unique addition that it changed the way I think about breakfast. We intentionally ordered some standard breakfast items because we believe that's the best way to judge a breakfast restaurant. If a place can make the classics exceptionally well, that's usually a great sign. Lighthouse Cafe exceeded our expectations across the board with their delicious plates and service. Not to mention it is nice to visit a locally owned restaurant whose owner is present and working alongside their staff. From the quality of the food to the generous portions, everything was excellent. If you're on Sanibel and want a breakfast that goes beyond the ordinary while still nailing all the classics, Lighthouse Cafe is a great place to visit.
