We didn't order food here, but the menu looked okay. The drinks were decently priced, which was mainly what we were after. However, the atmosphere just didn't do it for us, and it seemed that the people that showed up around 8 or 9pm were already highly intoxicated and were there to hook up in the booths, rather than hang out with friends. That was when we decided it was time to go... downstairs seemed much more enjoyable, but we'd already decided to find the next place.

These babies aren't split at the joint (but have had the tips removed). Serve was huge. I don't know what they were trying to do with the adobo sauce in the muffin wrapper -the stuff on the table (various flavours of Companhia Das Ervas) was heaps better. Light jerk-ish seasoning, wonderfully cooked, juicy. Would order again without hesitation (while secretly hoping they had developed a great sauce in the interim). Brisket tacos ($12 for 2, another special): I'd bet money on knowing the name of their corn tortilla provider. I've had them at a few spots around Sydney (and have ordered them directly myself). I don't like them. I left the tortilla and ate the filling. Brisket was good. Sauce was good. Sammy Cubano sandwich ($16): loved it. Free range Pulled pork, smoked ham, cheese & adobo sauce with spiced mustard). Table mate now convinced he doesn't have to leave the country for a good Cuban. Toasty, melty, would come back for that sambo. Despite having a picture of a suckling pig on the menu and prominently stating that they are "casa de suckling pig", the only one I could find on offer was on the specials menu. In any event, now that I know Harpoon Harru's can handle a brisket, I can't wait to try the meat platter (jerk chicken, adobo pulled pork & beef short rib $58, feeds 2-3).

They have a good variety of meals including burgers and Fish & Chips, plus lots of drinks on tap. The most enticing aspect of this restaurant was the process of picking your table and then ordering at the bar when you're ready. Food came out quick and made it nice when we were ready to leave, the tab was already paid so we could just leave. Food was good. Nothing that will blow you away but quite good none the less. Overall I give Edinburgh Castle four stars out of five.

Sure, it was your typical 'old man's pub' (if seems as if that term has come into common use, at least on Yelp, to describe a special variety of pub that Yelpers tend not to visit), but it did actually have a nice atmosphere about it, and some really friendly staff, and the drinks were pretty cheap as well. While it didn't have anything that stood out about it, and the beers on offer where you're pretty standard fare, it was still a nice pub, and I wouldn't hesitate coming here again (despite the hike that is required to get there mind you).

They do a daily happy hour at $4 for beers and $6 for spirits - where else can you find these prices in the heart of the city !?! It is a smallish establishment on the corner of George St and Goulburn St and it is nicely decorated. It is definitely a chill out bar where you can meet up with people, get a few drinks and have a chat. It definitely isn't a party bar where the music is pumping and people are dancing all night. Now that I've discovered this establishment, I'm sure I'll be back and seriously it's not a bad place to hang out at all !
