However, on our wedding day Jennifer (and her assistant) made the experience very enjoyable and painless. In fact, she made two people who don't feel they're photogenic look really good! Before the wedding: Jennifer was professional from day one. We contacted her and immediately got a response. She asked about our budget, what we wanted out of the photo shoot, and the time frame. The quote, and what it entailed, were clearly outlined. Day of the wedding: Jennifer and her assistant were prompt and ready to go. She made us feel comfortable in front of the lens. Jennifer and her assistant both had a wonderful and artistic eye for poses, settings, and composition! They both also caught many priceless moments that were natural and unscripted. Photo shoots of the wedding party and with family were seamless. After the wedding: Jennifer had the pictures ready for us to view and download within a timely manner. The images were easy to access and download, and she followed up to ensure that her service was to our satisfaction. We highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a wonderful experience! Whether you're camera-shy or love to be in front of the lens, Jennifer is the photographer for you!

I simply love Josh and Melissa and all they represent with Continuum Photography. They did an…read moreabsolutely out-of-this-world job photographing my wedding in Chicago and if there were a wedding A-team assembled, the'yd have been the captains. Here's the thing. I was doing a pretty small wedding (65 people) in a pretty low key format (dinner party at a restaurant, very casual ceremony) and I was trying to keep things pretty mellow. I've been admiring the work of Josh and Melissa for several years (they used to be based in Chicago) -- so when I did a quick check into working with them, it all seemed to align perfectly. They were available my weekend, like to travel back to Chicago (and know great places to take photos after doing many weddings/engagement sessions!) and were so on top of every step of the process. We booked them a room within our room block and some airplane tickets...and we were set to go after filling out a few preliminary forms and schedules. (I told you, VERY on top of things and they forsee any issues before they actually happen, huzzah!) I was worried about one thing though: My anti-photographic soon-to-be husband. He hates smiling for photos. I didn't even get engagement photos because I didn't want to deal with him...so this whole thing made me a bit nervous. To the rescue: The documentary-like style of Continuum (just check their site/blog). Seriously, we barely knew they were even there throughout the day and evening. They caught so many sweet, special, cool, unique moments...not a forced smile in the house! So many guests commented on how wonderful they were. Perhaps because they made everyone look so fabulous and normal? Probably, but mostly I think they are just very easy to be around and very professional and non-intrusive. They were always punctual, on schedule, highly communicative, fun and personable. Even during our ride around town for a photos beforehand, everything was really laid back, and pretty natural (hard to pull off with poses!). The key moment? Nick saying "Oh really, we are done with these? I have so many more places I want to take pictures!" Miraculous, I kid you not. They are very good about getting everyone to just enjoy themselves and behave naturally --- catching them in the best light, normalcy and festive fun. Family photos: I hate these. I didn't even want to do them. Luckily Josh moved through these like a ninja. He even reminded my aunt (several times) not to interfere with her flashing and that we would share all the photos with everyone from his professional lens that they could download for free. (and he did, quickly!). They'll have you make a list of all the shots, Melissa will round people up (and make sure they don't pair anyone uncomfortably --- stepwives, exes, ask for dead grandfathers to join, etc), Josh will snap them and you'll be on your way to the party before you know it! We had the galleries within a few weeks and the discs a week after that. He made galleries for both free downloads (with small watermark, lower quality -- for people to use as profile photos, etc) and then a hi-res gallery to purchase. We ended up liking them so much we ordered tons for our families for Christmas and used one for our Christmas card. We haven't even gotten to our photobook yet (we will) - Melissa is great at putting them together. We will also order more prints for our own use at home...but the reception on the photos has been fantastic. Everyone adores them, including us...and I can be very critical of photos, especially when I am in them! All in all, Continuum was tied with Birchwood Kitchen for my favorite people to work with on this wedding. One provided beautiful evidence and memories and the other sustenance and service, so they both get first place in my book. I cannot recommend them highly enough and they even far surpassed our expectations as to what photographers can add to a wedding. Worth every single penny and more. If you need a photographer, send them an email...and tell them Colleen C sent you!

Why not consider hiring photographers who are incredibly personable, are easy to work with, provide a great deal of care and moderate amounts of wit to what they do? Most importantly, you should really consider hiring Josh and Melissa because the quality of their pictures never wavers from picture 1 to picture 1,001. You may be able to save $1 or 2 somewhere else but don't. They're worth the investment and they're worth getting to know and having them a part of your once-in-a-lifetime event. Plus, it's a lot of fun to gloat about how great your photos turned out and how great the people were who took the pictures after your big day is over! If you only do this once, you might as well do it right the first time. Right? Right. As someone who's more than familiar with photography on his own, it's easy to spot the fakers from those who love what they do, who they meet and the results they're committed to providing. Continuum will leave you wondering why you even considered any other photographers. It's your big day. Don't say photography is "too expensive" because it's better to look back and gleam at how you looked and how well they captured the day than asking yourself if the brownies were good.

Weston took his time, worked with us to get comfortable, and taught us how to bring our most natural selves to our photos! He was also the primary shooter for our wedding and there are so many special moments captured. Videography was also beautiful and watch the videos a few times a month! The videos really capture the energy and sentiment of our wedding. She instantly puts you at ease, and makes all the photo sessions fun while still romantic. She is very detail oriented, and we love that she shoots both digital and film. From the moment she arrived, she radiated calm, warmth and confidence -- and somehow managed to capture every single moment of our Carmel wedding weekend flawlessly. From the Mission Basilica ceremony to portraits on the Pebble Beach 18th hole green and our reception at the pier and beach club, Natalie documented it all with such effortless grace. Every image feels alive -- emotional, joyful and timeless -- as if she bottled the entire feeling of the day. When logistics and traffic went a little haywire, Natalie didn't miss a beat -- she literally drove me herself (big poofy wedding dress and all!) to make sure everything stayed on track. That moment sums her up perfectly: talented, calm under pressure and endlessly kind. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful she was -- present yet never intrusive, with this serene energy that made everyone feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. The photos are beyond spectacular and absolutely priceless -- we'll cherish them for the rest of our lives. Natalie isn't just a photographer; she's a true artist and an extraordinary person. We feel so lucky to have had her by our side and truly cannot recommend her enough!

He met with me prior to the shoot, had a notebook and pen ready and we actually had a great conversation about what I was trying to express, how he would go about expressing that in his photographs, and even helped draw a few sketches of what the shoot would hopefully look like. We agreed on a mutual idea and set a date to shoot. This was so above and beyond for any photographer I've worked with; most just show up and do their thing without asking the model why they want to do the shoot. He made me feel valued, respected, and heard; that is hard to come by in my line of work. That was almost a year ago (maybe more) and although I have thousands of photos in my portfolio, I still count that shoot in my top 5.
