I was here again recently. I had leftover shelves from a shelving unit I purchased off of Amazon a few years ago. After ordering and receiving the wrong poles for the shelves from Amazon, I decided to see if I could find them here. They indeed did have them, let me take my shelf into the store to see if it would work with their system, and it did. They have the ability to cut the poles to your specified size. Again, I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 due to price. I still maintain that they sell quality items here, so be prepared to pay for that quality. I did join their loyalty program, which includes 20% off of purchases. Since 4 poles cost around $120, I got $20 off, which makes it more palatable. Not everything in the store is hugely expensive, and it is an organizer's dream store. read more

I have not been to a Container Store in years, like four to be exact. But I do like them for the variety of items they carry. My son needed a few storage solutions for his new apartment and we checked them out and found perfect under bed storage that he needed. It was not cheap, but quality. We received friendly staff help on the floor. Checkout was efficient right before closing. If you get in their email you can get periodic discounts. The products and service standout and I'm comfortable with a full 5 star. I would highly recommend them. read more

I have always loved all of my organization that has come from the store. They're very helpful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "I love, this store." I ended my last update stating that, so I'll start this update, saying the same phrase. "I love this store." I'm actually glad that I don't live as close as I once did. This store is addicting. I can find whatever I need to organize my kitchen, bathroom or closets. I can even spiff up my bathroom with goodies here. They truly do have containers for everything you can imagine. Another department that I love here is, the travel. They've got the packing cubes and all the little bottles to help you meet those silly TSA guidelines. I prefer to fill a personal sized travel bottle, with my brands of choice. Not a fan of buying travel size at the local drug store. My recent visit was a quick one, I just needed and wanted a new butter dish for my refrigerator. I went vintage, solid glass and American made. As I browsed, I saw more and more things I wanted. So I had to stay strong and made my way to the cashier. I can always come back, but today, I was a one item man. read more

OMG, this place is a dream come true for people like me who spend hours/days/weeks looking for that RIGHT shelving system for the pantry or a quick, clean, and easy way to identify small bits for our mini workshop in the basement. If you have a need to organize, The Container Store will definitely satisfy that need. Beware, you'll walk in with an idea to buy 2 things and will end up walking out with 2 carts full of organizing bliss. It is a place where I could find all the containers I want, and more containers I didn't know I want, and many containers I know I would want... Customized closet designs, galvanized cubes, modular shelving units, boxes in different sizes, sets of stacking drawers in iridescent hues, etc. The staff courteous, upbeat and knowledgeable. Sometimes I go to this place to purchase for functionality but end up squandering for inspiration and... for some sort of compulsive self-remuneration that has to be alleviated but in turn reinforced by things like rewarding myself with another organizing box. The store's atmosphere blissfully conveys a pressure like you better get organized and buy some empty matching boxes or clean out your closet, together with these colorful cute objects too enticing to ignore. An ineffectual, vacillating person I just couldn't be adamantine enough against it, and ended up impulsively buying adorable organizing boxes but feeling guilty after the shopping. I never realize all the things missing from my life that I cannot live without until I come here. They have everything to help you organize your living space, office, and life. I didn't realize until this visit that I can't live without a container designed just to hold my crackers, hot dogs, cheese, butter, onions, cream cheese and deviled eggs! I also didn't realize how much I needed a device to organize my cat food! Yes, I cannot live without these things. I did have to pass on the ergonomic chair as I was afraid I would break my neck trying to stay on it..... Ack, I'm drowning in toys! Well, not so much anymore, thanks to the Container Store! I get really overwhelmed when I visit this store because it's a reminder of just how much crap I have to organize in my life, literally and figuratively. It's a tough pill to swallow. And then I tend to forget just why I stopped in in the first place because other organizational project thoughts are triggered by random items through the store. "Yes. Yes, I need cute glass containers for my Q-tips and cotton balls and makeup pads. Wait. I don't have any makeup pads... Why am I here again?" My strategy for avoiding such confusion is to browse the Container Store's online catalog when I have an organization quandary at hand. That way I can write down the exact products I'm interested in and go directly to them without getting bogged down by all the other stuff in the store. Generally, it works pretty well, but I still find myself examining document boxes and scoping out jewelry trays and magazine racks and glass kitchen storage containers and and and... And I almost always end up leaving with at least one really pretty roll of wrapping paper. Seriously, I love the wrapping paper here. Still, I'm satisfied with my purchases from the Container Store. Trash cans, cleaning supply bin carriers, a recycling bin, pantry organizers and now, most importantly, some super cheap bins for a motley crew of baby toys. I need to write this place a letter thanking them for helping save my sanity (at home, at least. Still get a little wacko in their brick and mortar). read more

I love organizing things but this review isn't about my obsession of having everything in its place (which is good because I'm only about 3/5 on that right now) I just moved into the city from a super tiny house to a giant house that no one built a bit of storage into. I have to say even my movers were impressed on how much I was able to fit in that tiny house and in my award acceptance speech I realized I had to thank the Container Store for all the secret stashing methods they provided me. My new house though is rough. There was a pantry but it had 3 bending wire shelves without anchors which screamed disaster. I knew that in January there was usually an Elfa sale for 30% off (which happens twice a year typically so no need to pay full price, just wait a few months) so when the sale hit I went to the store. You'll want to show up armed with measurements of height, door jams, and I even found it helpful to come in with the current depth of the existing system. My designer came right out to help and showed my husband and I some displays, asked about our needs on drawers, spice racks, finishes, etc. I told her some of my priorities - all my baking supplies in view and our dog food stored in the pantry. She took great notes and told us to browse the store for 20 minutes while she designed away. She found us and showed us many views of the big design. It was so perfectly on target that we jumped on it. You can pay right there at the design screen (and avoid the long lines up front), wait an hour or so (go before lunch, then eat and pickup) and then when you come back they will bring everything to your car for you all packaged up. It's so easy. The Elfa system came with instructions custom to our design so it was easy to work. This is where I should mention their new POP!star program. It's linked in to your Container Store account and makes you eligible for discounts too which helped save me on the big purchase. The best part is that the account system as a whole logs all your previous purchases online including the custom sketches of what I got. My design had 30 components with 60-something pieces. After I put everything in my pantry I realized I could use another shelf. I just loaded the design and component list in the system and was able to order a custom-cut shelf online. You can set a pickup time and pay online, then just run in the store, grab and go. Do I sound like I've joined a cult? I may have. I'm sold for life. My pantry is just that amazing right now that I've cooked dinner every night. My biggest concern is that the system doesn't look like it will fit my bedroom closets so I am seriously considering renovating them to fit more. Someone stop me! read more

This is THE motherland. Repeat. This is the motherland. I feel so at home and at peace here. But also so very giddily excited. Anything containers does it for me and they have aisles and aisles of just that. Pretty things to store your pretty things. And then a pretty thing to store that. I recently re-organized my office with lots of things from container store including colorful bookends, their brick-style accessory organization, cord management, cork board, and more. It's made my work space much more zen and pleasant. After a recent move, I returned to help organize my refridgerator and pantry with many containers. The major downfall: It is pricey. Like I-don't-even-probably-need-this-but-sure-I'll-pay-$25-for-it kinda thing. To cut costs, I often get inspiration here and find similar items elsewhere. But for the few projects I will buy all or most from Container Store and often be about $150 poorer for it. read more

I am a fan of The Container Store. I was working on a home storage solution. While I was walking around The Container Store I saw the metro shelving with some modular plastic drawers on it. I liked the modern look, the way you can see what's inside the drawers, and thought it was the perfect solution to my storage dilemma. I priced the metro shelving at The Container Store that I thought I needed. I needed two shelves ($230 each) and one garment rack ($194). That's $654 plus tax and the modular plastic drawers which I did not even price. I then priced the same exact size shelving at Costco. The shelves were $139 x 2 + $121 for the garment rack. That's $399 vs $654. Great ideas but unfortunately most products are available elsewhere for less. Thanks for the great ideas. read more

Oh boy.... so if any of you follow me on Instagram or are a personal friend, you will know I have OCD---(diagnosed) And in a couple forms... Its gotten better as I've been gracefully aging, but I still have it, and a part of it still consumes me from time to time. I decided to go into the Container Store the other day to "quickly" grab a makeup organizer that I had found online... One thing, and one thing only...... $44 later, I had walked out with multiple items. This place has what you want when you don't know you needed it. Seriously, every time I walk in to the Container Store or Bed Bath & Beyond I find some gadget that will change my life. The stuff at the Container Store is high quality and affordable. If you just moved into a new place, are in the middle of spring cleaning, or in need of some organization come here. ...or if you are simply in the area and have some time to kill, stop in. Just bring your wallet because you will find something that you simply cannot live without. FYI... I almost boycotted this place because I hate this strip mall's freaking parking lot. This place is crazy awesome. If you can't get organized here, you don't have a chance in this world. The only problem I have is the price, it's a bit expensive, but high quality and wonderful selection generally demand that. I have seen many of their systems copied, by Rubbermaid and a few knockoffs, but the best quality still is found at the Container Store. I have spent quite a bit there, and I will be spending quite a bit more I'm sure. read more

This is one of the few (maybe the only) places where they have storage bins that are large enough to fit LP records. I love these! They're so simple, are easily moveable and stack very nicely. For about 13 bucks, the price is a bit steep, but they are wonderful and should last me a while. I assume this is an average price for something there, but I honestly thought my investment in 6 of these bins to JUST accommodate my record collection would be significantly cheaper... But then again, this is the only place that has gone to great lengths to get regular dairy crates in stores! I will be coming back to get more however. I'm writing this review purely because of the outstanding customer service of the place. I run an ecommerce store directly across the street so I have to go here fairly regularly to pick up an odd or end that I need in a pinch. Most of the workers I've dealt with are extremely helpful and nice and go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for. As far as their product lineup, they have just about everything you'd need for any type of organization at home or the office. Most things are a little pricey, though, so if you're budget shopping, go somewhere else. read more

I'd only drive out to Brentwood Square to go to The Container Store (okay and Whole Foods) to pick up a little goodie for my room that used to be in desperate need of design. Oh Container Store...how I adore you! I'm working on some organization projects in my home office -- namely, figuring out a way to display my racing medals. I'm obsessed with running and I want everyone to know about it. What can I say? Anyway, I've been on the hunt for magnetic hooks for months. I felt like I had looked everywhere; Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond. No luck at any of those places. One of my friends told me to check out the container store. I scoffed -- doesn't the container store only sell, well...containers? -- but I gave the store a try. What did I have to lose besides a few minutes of my time? Wow. I can't believe I haven't visited this store sooner! What an amazing place. There are containers and organizational tools for everything! I asked one of the friendly sales associates where I could find the magnetic hooks, and she led me to the back wall. JACKPOT. I found exactly what I needed, and they weren't terribly expensive! I was immediately greeted as I entered. I asked if the Container Store carried something to organize plastic bags - I was pretty certain they did. He said that, actually, they had TWO different types and walked me over to the aisle they were in! Now, these weren't just plastic on plastic things like I was excepting IKEA to have - one was stainless steel-looking made by Simple Human and the other was some shiny chrome thing! You have to get creative with a small kitchen! Besides something so specific, I do not think this store is really necessary. If you need a storage container, they WILL have it. Along with other random items. Today's visit was for the bungee euro-chhair!! I'm so YELPIN' happy! This $139 item was on SALE for $99 I was there in heartbeat to pick one up. Honestly best chair ever and for someone who sits a lot in front of the computer screen I needed this in my life. Other than that I would say this place comes to mind for many storage needs. Yes like other Yelpers, Stan S. is correct -- the prices, well they can be a bit high for some of what you are buying. But there will be a time when you say I wish I had a storage container for (insert item) and I promise they will have it! If not message me and I'll track it down for you! Visiting this store is somewhat of an experience, and be prepared because I doubt you will leave empty handed. If I had all the money in the world, I'd be sooooo organized. Or, at least that's the feeling I get as I roam through The Container Store. The shelving, the hangers, the boxes, the jars, the dividers---all promise a stylish and orderly future. The gadgets, the doodads, the thingys---all suggest process improvement and time management. And where to start...the closet, the kitchen, the specially designated wrapping room? Seriously, if you are looking to get your household stuff under control, you can find what you need here in this well-stocked store. And, you won't get off cheap, for there are no Bed, Bath, and Beyond-style coupons offered. Cool store with nearly everything you could wish for to organize your home or office. We came in looking for a cart/box on wheels to store craft supplies in. We didn't find anything that fit the bill. No one asked us if we needed help finding anything and the staff that were around were helping customers with what I would assume are big organizational projects. I did find a few things to buy. I asked the cashier for a breakfast place recommendation and he did tell us about his favorite place which we proceeded to go to. And it was good. read more

The following is a statement of facts and formal complaint against The Container Store. On February 8, 2016 at the Brentwood Square location (1769 S Brentwood Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63144) my car was struck and damaged by a cart belonging to The Container Store. At approximately 8:45 pm CST, I walked a customer from the adjacent Pier 1 to her car and saw the cart resting against my car on the driver's side quarter panel. Both the customer and I saw the cart. I noticed the damaged side and at 8:58 pm CST called the store and spoke to a male manager who met me at my vehicle, retrieved the cart, took my information, and told me to wait for a return call. I followed up on February 9, 2016 at 11:23 am CST and spoke with manager Emily Winter. She assured me a claim would be filed, and that Gallagher Bassett would follow up with me. Emily emailed my claim information at 12:26 pm CST. After repeated calls to Gallagher Bassett from February 10-22, I received no updates. On the 23rd--the day before the legal maximum time allowable--they responded that my claim had been denied. The reason given was the employees claimed they went to retrieve carts, and it must have been the wind that pushed the cart into my car. At no point did anyone take my statement or that of my witness. Additionally, there are no cart corrals belonging to The Container Store. There is no posted disclaimer saying you are not responsible for cart damage on the lot. In legalese, this is known as actionable negligence, "...the omitting to do something that any reasonable person would have done, with injury as a direct and foreseeable result of that unreasonable conduct." The property manager said that liability lies with the tenant companies for any parking lot damage from stray carts. I am deeply troubled by the lack of integrity and honesty that your store employees showed in handling this situation. Furthermore, the irreputable insurance company that you use was not even familiar with handling these types of claims, yet made a snap decision without any due diligence.  It is preposterous and absurd to think that a company such as yours would allow their reputation to be tarnished by ignorance, incompetence, and lies. A simple damaged car by your company and your property is something that should be easily rectified. Instead it has spiraled out of control, and I am extremely unsatisfied. I popped into the Container Store to look for one of those large writing surface thingeys (they're usually cardboard or rubber) that you put on your desk so you're not writing directly on the wooden surface. I walked around THE ENTIRE STORE and could not find them. On my way I passed several employees who all ignored me. After I'd gone through the entire store, I went over near the custom closets area where there were three employees talking to customers. I stood there for 10 minutes staring at them (it was obvious I had a question), and none of them paused to see what I needed help with or to call another employee to come over. One of the guys was chatting casually with a woman who brought her massive, long haired dog (not a service dog) into the store and he kept looking at me but also kept ignoring me. Container Store will be the place to de-stress & salivate. I am a true organize-holic. Whenever I see mess, I think of ways to organize said mess. One of the ways I calm myself or whenever I am having a stressful day/week is to organize. Although some of the items here cost a bit more than your standard big box stores (e.g. Wal-Mart, Target, etc.), they have everything you can think of & couldn't think of to organize anything (well almost anything). Ideas abound. I hate going to big box stores only to not find what I need/want. So, I come to Container Store. The employees are very helpful. Totally worth the trip & sanity. read more

Store has great products, but it is a bit pricy. The customer treatment though has significant problems. We had to return couple of items, because they didn't work out for us. We didn't have a receipt with us, but we used to courtesy of other stores to find our purchase by our credit card. Here they told us that they can lookup only a week back which was not enough. They can accept it for a store credit. That was bad, but OK. Then they gave us a store credit about 25% lower than we paid, saying that it should be loweest price (over some period?). That was not OK. We checked current prices and they were the same as originally. We took purchases back and going to find receipts at home. Hopefully, we would not have to deal with this business again. read more
