I live in Des Moines Iowa. But the computer guy fixes computers for anyone all over the state and even some in other countries via remote repair. The prices are great and rather than trusting your remote repair to someone that is in another country, you can have someone in your same time zone right in fix your computer quickly and reasonably. read more

History

Established in 1996.

The Computer Guy was founded by Patrick Palmer of Hampton, Iowa, after working with computers since the age of 14. While still in high school during the early 80's, Palmer partnered with his father, Roger, in a home-based business called Palmer & Palmer Computer Services. After high school graduation in 1983, he went on to further his education at NIACC in Mason City, Iowa. The Computer Guy was started in 1996. Palmer found that by offering quality services at reasonable rates, he could gain the trust and respect of those whose computers he serviced, thus building his business. In 2006, Palmer left his full time job and dedicated 110% of his time to The Computer Guy -- from his basement. In 2009, Palmer moved to a downtown Hampton, Iowa location and serves customers in a 45 mile area with FREE pickup and delivery and remote repair services!

Palmer has been trained and certified by Dell, Hewlett-Packard, MicronPC and Sony Vaio and has also gone on to earn the CompTIA A+ and CEA CompTIA DHTI+ Certifications. He feels that knowledge is power and knows training never ends, especially in the world of computers and technology.

I've been dealing with McCloskey Appliance since 2021, and have only great things to say about…read morethem, their service, their staff, their products, their prices and their professionalism. These folks are completely knowledgeable, reliable, skillful and honest. I've bought a refrigerator and had another fridge repaired by them. I've also purchased a washer and a dryer from them and even their delivery guys really know their stuff. They're consistently courteous, respectful and they are pros in every way. As to pricing (and I know, because I compared such before choosing), and the quality of the products they offer, they've got all that down, as well. I initially went with McCloskey because my 88-year-old, widowed mother - who lives, alone, in Mason City - has used them, and ONLY them, for many years; she highly recommended them, and she's as pleased as ever with their service, prices, products and employees. I am, as well. IMO, one cannot go wrong by choosing McCloskey Appliance.

Rich explained in detail the features, etc. He was excellent to do business with, even upgraded our dryer when the original choice was damaged. Didn't charge for delivery or to pick up old appliances. Delivery men, Dalton and Zach did a very professional job as well!! Service is not a thing of the past. They worked with us all the way.
