A league of its own…read more I really enjoy nice hotels, its becoming a bit of a hobby to plan for the additional price of nice hotels into my get-a-way plans. This place was a fantastic discover and I cannot wait to come back! I haven't experienced this level of elegance or luxury in quite a while. It truly has the perfect mixture of modern innovation and convenience with the old style boutique feel. By modern convenience I'm talking spacious well decorated rooms, and TVs in your bathtub. A TV in your bath tub is exactly what you want when staying at a five star hotel, ha ha. My back deck opened onto immaculately groomed golf course grounds with a little table and chairs to enjoy the gorgeous morning I had there. There are three restaurants on the grounds and a cocktail bar, not too shabby! I loved the rooms in the old hall which have traditional influences, the drawing room, the morning room etc... BUT THE SPA IS AMAZING. Imagine a swimming pool sized hot tub with a water fountain in the middle and different stations with different style jets. dry hot rooms "Tropicarium", wet hot rooms, cold rooms, foot baths, lap swimming pool, whatever you want! great location to lay out and look over the grounds as well. Everything at this hotel feels plush and the service is dedicated to making sure you enjoy your stay. I was sincerely impressed by this place and call it among the best I've ever been!

This is a really difficult review for me. Honest Lawyer is really an American-style hotel rather…read morethan a B&B or a "charming old-fashioned" hotel... The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I will also say that the restaurant had tasty dinner. The annoying parts of this stay unfortunately outweigh the positives in my mind. Firstly, the nice, quite room is basically completely Wi-fi proof. While they do offer free Wi-fi, I was unable to actually use it from my room - I had to either go outside, or back to the restaurant/lounge to connect. Second, while the dinner was pretty good, they ran out of cask-ale after my first pint, and didn't seem enthusiastic about changing the cask. Also, the dinner wasn't really a bargain. This dovetails in to the second issue I had with dining, which was the breakfast. It was a mediocre steam-tray buffet. It was not worth the £9.99 per person that they charge. Third, they don't have a business center - this isn't normally a huge deal, but I'd love to have been able to check in for my flight and print my boarding passes from the hotel, especially considering how troublesome their Wi-fi was. My overall summary of Honest Lawyer is really that it's about a 2-1/2 star experience. It's tolerable if you cannot find a B&B, but it really doesn't compare to a good B&B experience, and it's costly enough that it cannot realistically be called a bargain.
