The owners have converted this 1900s farmhouse into a beautiful, modern b&b. There are 4 rooms total, each with their own private bathroom. All of the rooms are newly remodeled and just gorgeous. We stayed in the "North Room," which is the first room (all rooms are upstairs on the 2nd level) at the top of the stairs. It has a very comfy queen bed and ample space. My favorite feature is the clawfoot tub, a bath bomb was even included for those wanting a bath. The owners live on the 3rd floor so are always available. Visiting during Covid, we had a very safe stay as well. We got to choose our breakfast time and were served a grand breakfast to ourselves in the dining room. A breakfast-in-bed delivery option as well. Karen made a feast of a breakfast (French toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, and Tinker coffee!). Breakfast is included with the cost of room (which is very affordable!).

Upon arriving at this conveniently located b&b (just a few minutes drive away from IWU), John and LeRoy immediately welcomed us into their home with warm hospitality, making sure that we had all the essentials and amenities necessary to have a comfortable stay (e.g. Wi-fi password, information about the house, extra blankets, etc.). We were made to feel like royalty by the several high-class amenities offered at the Inn including, specialty chocolates in the room, plush bathrobes, an assortment of magazines to read while in bed, and bubble bath for the jacuzzi tub. The special touches extended into each morning, too. We were treated to delicious breakfasts each morning set with a beautiful tablescape (and yes, as some one who loves to host herself, I noticed and appreciated that the dishes and flatware were different each morning). It is in the dining room that you are most able to appreciate the care and attention that the owners have put into preserving the history and integrity of their century old home. Beyond the tasty meal and beautiful view from the dining room, it was also our hosts' hospitality that put us at ease when we aren't normally used to eating with other guests whom we don't know; John broke the ice by conversing with the guests, telling us stories about the area, and providing entertainment suggestions when asked. We had a wonderful time and if ever in the area, we will certainly stay again; and we exhort you to do the same.

Our cozy room (the Paris room) offered a private bathroom which we appreciated. The only downside would be the location - it's in a very small town with almost no amenities, so if you are looking for excitement, this is probably not your place. However, If you want a retreat And you just want to visit other places like Fishers or Indianapolis, this is it! Our host, Jayne, gave plenty of nearby options to explore, eat at, and have fun - all about a 30 min drive.. We plan to stay here again!

I arrived the night before the event and planned to relax and renew while enjoying a night away from home. I'm not a frequent Hampton customer as I've honestly never found them to be quite worth what they usually charge. Of course, there are exceptions. I've had some VERY good Hampton stays in the past. My fundraising event toured through Marion last year. I'm unsure why I didn't actually stay in the city, but this time around I made plans to enjoy the area. I arrived during the late afternoon and had no issues with check-in. They knew my room was sponsored by someone else and check-in was a breeze. The doors are automated and the lobby was a warm, wooded decor that felt pretty welcoming. The overall atmosphere felt less spacious than some Hamptons, but it worked pretty well. An accessible room was reserved and a room with a roll-in shower was received. My room did have an accessible shower with a bench attached to the wall, though I would note that the shower size was a touch odd and I actually had trouble reaching the detachable shower head from the bench. Admittedly, I am short. Hey, I don't have feet. What do you expect? I eventually was able to coax the showerhead down, but that's a potential fall hazard that didn't make sense. The bathroom itself was a tad smaller than expected given turn-around space needed for a wheelchair. It worked, but if someone is spastic it could get interesting. I really felt like this Hampton Inn was on the lower end of the Hampton experience. Compared to the Muncie Hampton, the lobby area was decorated well but had a more industrial feel and not in the industrial design way. It didn't feel uncomfortable, but it was definitely more compact. I was really tempted to give a 2-star rating due to a couple of semi-major issues - 1) There was a dead bug on the floor in my room and 2) One of the two bedside lights flickered constantly. The bug was accompanied by a couple of gnats. While I obviously disposed of the bug, it seemed like something that should have been caught before I arrived. If I'm in a room donated by the hotel, I acknowledge that I may get a not quite market-ready room, but if someone has paid for the room the it's not acceptable. I also simply turned off the light for the rest of the night, but the constant flickering for a while was bothersome and, once again, shows a lack of attention to detail. The internet was spotty, though I actually found the internet to be better here than in Muncie. As is a corporate policy, there's free wifi along with a premium option for $4.95. Despite the modest issues, I'm keeping Hampton Inn at 3-stars primarily on the strength of a warm/welcoming staff, a solid continental breakfast, a quality television, and an overall atmosphere that felt comfortable. There is part of me that feels like some of the problems were the exception and not the rule - While I did find a bug, I can also say the good majority of the hotel and the rest of the room was quite clean and functional. I felt the same about the flickering light - everything else worked and the bed was incredibly comfortable. While this Hampton is more reasonably priced than the Muncie location, one would hope they work out the bugs, pun intended, and bring the quality of the facility up to the price point.

My daughter and I just stayed the night. We both are devout Christians and we don't smoke and never have smoked. We always stay at the Hilton in Gatlinburg and we always look for Hilton associated hotels. They have lost us as customers. So if you go to Marion Indiana stay clear from this establishment.

Our suite was roomy and quiet and filled with antiques & memorabilia. And all the comforts of home--air, kitchenette w microwave & fridge, and a smart TV with Amazon Prime. I recommend Just a short walk to Aroma--try the Lavender Lattee(Oye) ! And the adjacent bakery! Gabriel's has amazing breakfast and Dillinger's was good for dinner. Very responsive folks running it clued us into how to get in the suite. We'll be back !

We spent two nights at the Cole Porter Inn as a little getaway for antiquing and relaxation. We…read morestayed in the Cole Porter Suite, and it was beautiful! Very spacious with lovely furniture and decor. It's probably the antique-est of the three suites in the house. The Cole Porter Suite has a living room, a little kitchenette, a queen bed in the main area, a second bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and a sunroom (I've included pictures). The only thing that was a pinch awkward was the hand shower in the bathtub (and no shower curtain). Some antique charm that was definitely a new experience for us, but we figured it out! We were able to contact the proprietor as soon as we arrived, and he instructed us how to get to our room. We could come and go as we pleased. The only down side was feeling a little distant from him should we need things like extra towels, but he was very nice, and I'm sure he would have come running if we'd had a need. No breakfast is included with your stay at the inn, but the kitchenette has a sink, microwave, coffee maker, and coffee, or Peru has a few local breakfast places that will fit the bill (we liked Aroma downtown for coffee and donuts, or go down U.S. 31 about 15 minutes to Dutch Cafe for a hearty breakfast). The inn was also an easy walk to a few local restaurants for dinner, of which I recommend Club 14 and Voodoo Public House. The neighborhood is filled with historic homes of all shapes and sizes, so even just a walk (or drive!) drive around the neighborhoods in that vicinity was great entertainment. We didn't use the TV while we were there, so I guess my only other complaint would be the Wi-Fi. It's free, which is great, but we barely had a signal, so the router must be pretty far from our upstairs room. So if you need to get work done or have amazing internet access, you won't really get it here (at least not upstairs). But if you want a beautiful place to relax and a home base to check out what Northern Indiana has to offer, this is a great one!
