I have always said, "No one cleans your house the way you do, so just let go of that expectation and you'll be fine." In this case I have to say - they do! They clean all the obvious stuff but they also notice things like the top of the stove hood that gets all greasy, the inside of the fridge where spills happen and it looks gross. In this house we have lots of those long cob webs that you don't notice unless you look up. They actually look up! The other day I was in the bedroom and showed my husband, "OMG! They cleaned the fan blades! No one does that." Also important to me is that the people are very friendly, use good cleaning products (not harsh chemicals) and don't have a problem with my big dogs in the house while they work. Last, Efficient Housekeeping is involved in island charities (I met the owner at one of these), which is very nice. Locally owned, woman owned and supportive of our community. Totally worth it to have them come in and clean 2-4x a month. Oh, and you can pay them with (credit card!) via PayPal.

Bruno was recommended to me by another friend and when I called he got right back to me and had a quote for me in no time. IT was reasonable and well detailed. He started the work without ever meeting me or getting money from me. ( I live off-island). He was ALWAYS there on time and did exactly what he said he was going to do. He took pictures and videos of the work and kept me updated daily. Shortly after, the pandemic hit, and construction was halted. Well, with the very rainy season this caused an issue despite his valiant effort to keep the roof safe from the wind and rain. He went to the trouble of getting special permission to go over and secure the area again to protect it from the rains and winds, all the while being harassed by people driving by and witnessing his working. He and his guys are hard-working, dependable, respectful, people who take pride in their work. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

Summer/Fall 2024 Our…read morehome near South Beach in Edgartown needed to be painted this past summer (2024), and small segments of rotted wood needed replacement. As nearly half-century summer visitors, we have been challenged by rising prices and difficulty performing any service work. As we left a restaurant one evening in Vineyard Haven, we saw a truck with the logo "A-Zeke Painting." I snapped a photo and called several days later. The owner of A-Zeke answered his phone, and one of his foremen evaluated our home in the next few days. A very reasonable estimate (for the Vineyard) followed; replacing rotted wood and other carpentry work was extra and billed by the hour. Work commenced a few weeks later. A crew of workers descended upon our home, scraping, priming, and painting. The dedication and care these workers brought to their jobs impressed my wife and me the most. When they scraped and painted windows or doors, they carefully removed any paint spilled. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. When they broke a screen from our porch while removing it, they repaired it carefully. Importantly, they were always helpful and respectful! The carpenter did a superb job of replacing rotten wood. Our home is near South Beach and experiences a continuous stream of moist sea air. The carpenter and his assistant completely reconstructed the exterior of a bay window that had rotted, repaired and resized swollen screen doors, and replaced rotten molding. It was the most painless & pleasant painting/renovation experience in our nearly 50 years on the Vineyard. Can't say enough good things about the quality of workmanship and the care these workers brought to the job!

The issue is that I originally called for pick-up of a chair in St. Louis, MO in May 2018. The quote was $550 and I was willing to pay that rate. However, it took repeated phone calls over the course of 4 months to have them respond to their initial quote and schedule delivery. Not once did i receive a proactive outreach from Barnes. The pick-up finally occurred in October by a very professional driver. The drop-off was delayed by a couple weeks but the chair arrived in perfect shape.
