I don't know why it's the best in my opinion, but it is. I always seem to come away with masses of bargains and the've always got the very best of stuff and plenty of it. Perhaps it's just me, who knows. It's in a really good location as well, with plenty of other shops nearly and Sainsbury's a couple of shops along so you really can spend a day there. Their refund policy has recently changed so be very careful if you're buying anything that you may have to return - max 14 days and you NEED your receipt otherwise they won't even do an exchange. Anyone else think this is the best TKM, or am I just losing the plot a little?!

TK Maxx is rail upon rail of last seasons fashions, its basically what other stores/catalogues havent been able to sell so sizes are a mismatch, but the prices are greatly reduced, and especially during the sales you can find some amazing bargains. It isnt just clothes though, theres baby items, books, homeware, toys, shoes, hats, gifts and items for special occassions. Its very hard to get help from a member of staff as theres rarely any round, maybe one or two on the tills, and then possibly another at the changing rooms. The fitting service & customer service in general can't be faulted, the staff are always conscientious & extremely friendly. The children's shoes, in my opinion, are overpriced, & don't always stand up to the wear, but the adults are competively priced & are of a much better quality (or perhaps seem it as I don't climb trees in my shoes!).

If you can see past the hoards of Chavvy teenage girls that completely obliterate everything in there path, you might see a staff member picking up after their McDonald's shit and cleaning up a pile of clothes they just messed up on the stand, only to decide it's not short enough to see their Fat rolls. and so put it back. She arrived at about 13:30, to find they had run out of any hot food, and there was a solitary motley sandwich, and small yogurt pot that might satisfy a 3 year old. I suppose their "get out of gaol free card" is: subject to availability. This sort of thing does more damage to a company's reputation than not offering something for free. I suppose the old maxim still holds true: "There's no such thing as a free lunch." :-)

At it's peak it was a proper department store with concessions selling musical instruments, computers, and all of the other things you would associate. It now carries perfumes and cosmetics, clothing, and a small homeware section. The perfum section competes poorly with the likes of Superdrug and the Perfume Shop, and the homeware section contains such a limited range of goods that the local Tesco eclipses it in usefulness. The restaurant is merely average, with no outstanding features.
