Excellent selection of olive oils and vinaigrettes. Staff was super nice and helpful.

Stopped by during our visit to old town. Never knew there could be so many variations of olive oil and vinegar! It was a slow day, the worker there was very helpful in navigating the selection and helping narrow down the profile. You're able to walk around and taste/sample everything along with bread to figure out what you like. We ended up with the Tuscan Herb olive oil and a traditional balsamic vinegar mix. PS. The bigger containers are the most popular ones.

Always enjoy getting my haul of olive oils, vinegars, tapenade, etc. from The Chef's Olive Mix! #MyAddiction

Vinegar! Aioli! Tapenade! OH MY! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=X5IS9_2TaAdhpDKBZDDQWw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w SITREP I've always been a fan of herb-infused olive oils since my heady gourmet days in Portland (seems like a lifetime ago). But since I've been in Northern California, I've been loving gourmet stops in SacTown where I find them, and that includes coming here for last 10 years! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=hddNP--7bohxsn-Qm62Aog&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE SETUP Here in the lovely burg of Old Sac, rests this deLISH culinary paradise known as The Chef's Olive Mix! (The Mix) The Mix caters to specific taste buds: those that enjoy cooking with quality flavors imbued within quality ingredients. But it also caters to those who enjoy rich, fragrant tastes to spread, sprink and/or dribble on crunchy goodness! MOM Over the years, this has also become one of my mom's favorite stops in Old Sac and she always takes a bottle back with her to Seattle. In fact, if I don't stow away a bottle of the Olive Oil in my suitcase on my way to visit, she will be very upset! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=b-bxn8XGC98yhv20COfu4A TODAY'S HAUL Olive Oil is what brings me to The Mix, but "the sides" is what keeps me in the store longer than usual: * WILD MUSHROOM (Infused) Olive Oil has been my mainstay here, although I have enjoyed very much the Sundried Tomato and the Rosemary Olive Oils as well. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=zlItV9o8HakF5-2qAd_OZw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w I understand that many of my friends may think the olive oil is overpriced, but then I see what crap and ingredients they put in their bodies and that most of them have no idea what goes into gourmet cooking - this is the same crew that call gourmet dining going through the McDonald's drive-thru for their super-sized burger combo. The wonderful thing about the quality of The Mix's Olive Oil flavors is that they are very ample, and I barely notice a reduction in flavor when I "cut" The Mix olive oil with the more generic, less expensive - but nearly as flavorful - Trader Joe's Spanish Olive Oil. The quality of The Mix's olive oil products allows you to be more creative with outcomes. * RASPBERRY (infused) Vinegar is a wonderful tonic at the end of the day for what may have been a flavorless day at work (where maybe lunch WAS from that McDonald's drive-thru). Putting olive oil in a saucer and then drizzling a portion of Raspberry Vinegar in the middle in which to dip some sourdough bread is one version of heaven for me. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=GnPZKfZw6KlpWNFU2lb-IQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * BLACK OLIVE TAPENADE is the cure for when I'm too lazy to cook and I just want to watch a movie with my platter of crackers, sliced cheeses and The MIx's Olive Tapenade! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=ibi5uN54HgOf4rrIydlipQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * SRIRACHA AIOLI can bump up the *pizzazz* of an evening repast when drizzle onto some deep fried prawns! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=nBUwatEE-sBTc_zacRw23g&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * ARTICHOKE BRUSCHETTA in today's instance is my attempt to go outside my usual box - I figured there's an evening coming up where I'm going to enjoy munching on this instead of the olive tapenade. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=fWj_1uTiiAfQ--vdrn7NTg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w P.S. Nothing beats those Pink Rubber Duckies for Breast Cancer Awareness. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/the-chefs-olive-mix-sacramento?select=I_YALeRnRX5t5MtRJfO2Jw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN Although not inexpensive, The Chef's Olive Mix is a wonderful refuge for my taste buds from the mundane, and a price I'm willing to pay for my culinary peace of mind.

Stopped here while wandering around d Old Sac during a Work trip and the vinegars were outstanding! So, so tasty. The flavors were fresh and tasted just like the ingredients. I wish they had gluten free bread but that's ok. It was still great and I plan to purchase some before I head home. The service was fine. I like that they kind of left me alone to sample. The store was super cute and located in a great area.

Really like the garlic olive oil here. You can sample as many as you like. $7.50 for sample size and for the next size up it's $18. Its 20% off their garlic olive oil this month.

What a cool place! My husband and I spent a night in Sac and roamed around Old Sac while checking out the bars and businesses. This place is fun! They have what feels like 100 oils to fast from. We purchased the jalapeño balsamic, herb oil and a few others.

The Chefs Olive Mix is my go to place for all things olive oil and balsamic and I'm so glad to have this place local! I've been coming here for years and thought it was time to show them some love. First off, the staff are always helpful and greet you upon entering then offer free tastings of all the olive oils and balsamics. There are soooo many and it's hard not to try them all! Each oil or balsamic has a description of the item along with suggestions for pairing or cooking which is very helpful. They also have some other gourmet food items that I love checking out as well. I will say my favorite olive oils are the lemon and garlic flavors which are great for many dishes. The fig balsamic is also perfect for salads and drizzling on some sliced tomatoes. If you like flavored or infused olive oils, definitely check this out, you won't regret it!

I've used their raspberry balsamic vinegar in my cooking, salad, and as a digestion aid. There are many healing properties with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, while making different foods, even drinks, even more flavorful! You can sample their olive oils and balsamic vinegars before making your purchase, and the staff teach you about each vinegar and oil type. I've learned an abundance of cooking tips while sampling! What I also enjoy here is they have a variety of foods, skin and hair care products, sweet treats, and more, so it is a perfect business for buying goodies for yourself and to gift! The staff always check on you and make sure you are taken care of, as they answer your questions and give helpful recommendations. I look forward to bringing more friends and family here in the future! How the More Than Olives team treat you and how clean their store is, organized their items are, all give such a welcoming feeling and I find myself wanting to stay longer when I'm here because there are still items I haven't had the chance to check out yet! The wooden design of this store helps make me feel at home. This is one of my fav businesses to support because of their excellent customer service and their delicious and smooth olive oils and balsamic vinegars!

What I found were large steel containers of different flavors of olive oils and vinegars. The names and flavor profiles are written on each container. You can sample. You'll need to ask the employees for assistance. But with only a limited number of employees working in the weekends, assistance goes sideways quickly. A bit of a free for all in getting assistance. Yup, and of course they did have jars of olives. And small gifts such as pinch bowls, kitchen towels, garlic plate grater, etc. Plus they had olive oil based body lotions, balms, and oils. I sampled the lotions. They rubbed in easily onto my skin. Went on with a nice thickness and texture and dried with a light luxuriousness. No overpowering smell.

For those living in the neighborhood this is such a convenient spot. This is a smaller grocery store so you won't be able to find everything, but what they do have is plenty. There's fresh produce, wine, beer, shelf stable items essential to everyday recipes, and where they really shine is their deli and butcher area. They also have some prepared items like desserts, salads, dressings, pickles, dips, and more. On my latest visit I ended up ordering their Italian Hero ($11.99) from the deli counter, and picked up some of their pickles and house made caesar dressing. Everything was high quality and I loved that they have these options available. The Caesar dressing is delicious and I'll definitely be stopping in again for more. I've been using it on salads since picking it up. It had a good amount of parmesan cheese so The pickles have a very unique flavor, they're definitely tasty but not my favorite version of Dill Pickles- they are more tangy and zingy that traditional dill pickles, not bad just not what I expected. (I was thinking more kosher dill, like Claussen pickles or like the pickles you'd get at a Jewish deli). The sandwich was the star of the show, for $11.99 it was HUGE, the Italian Hero comes with prosciutto, mortadella, salami, roasted red bell pepper, and provolone- all sandwiches also come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and pepperoncini. The combination of ingredients on Dutch Crunch bread was amazing and I think having roasted red peppers as an option is underrated, it elevates a sandwich so much. While I wouldn't do my normal shopping here, I would absolutely come for specialty items or pick up needed items for convenience. I'll be back again soon!

As of 11/19/25, which is early season, you can buy a 4 lb bag for $10. While I was there, one farmer was sorting the oranges out by size. Apparently, the medium ones are the most popular. You could buy small ones for $1.50 per pound. Mandarins were attractive and juicy. Update: It's the sweetest and easiest to peel of the three different bags I bought on 11/19/25. Blue Goose Produce is associated with Westview Growers. If I remember correctly, there are 1500 mandarin orange trees in their orchards, so you can buy mandarins there until April! Farmers are friendly and informative to chat with. In October 2025, I believe I spoke with the owner Mark about the Blue Goose decor. One antiquities specialist soon found him a large metallic goose after he requested it. He painted it dark blue himself. This goose gets outfit changes to match the holiday! His family has been collecting blue goose decor over many years, which you can find throughout the store. I learned that a female goose can just be called a goose. A male goose is a gander, and Gander Taphouse is in the same plaza. Yesterday I learned that mandarin oranges taste better a day or longer after they have been picked. It takes time for them to sweeten. You can find a variety of local farm goods here, such as honey, scented candles, Earth & Vine products, local Newcastle Mandarin Ranch products, and Petaluma Creamery cheeses. You can buy pies here. I might call ahead to ask about available flavors. You can find limited produce here. I've bought a large tomato, finger grapes, and a ruby grapefruit here. Fuyu and Hachiya Persimmons are currently in season and look beautiful. Prices resemble that of a farmers market. If you like to support local farms, please stop by Blue Goose Produce.
