I got to do the aura reading and I loved it!!! I also love the fact that they email the results to you instead of printing it out like they used to over a decade ago. I hope they keep it as it's one of the very, very few places that I know of that actually offers it. The merchandise sold is still good and you can find pretty much anything for yourself and for friends. Also, every time I go in here the person behind the counter has always been friendly and nice. I haven't tried any of the psychics and still wouldn't due to my experience with Monique H. and another psychic who still works there (not referring to Jen Raven whom I praised in my previous update), but I'm sure they're fine. The last time I visited there were a couple people excited in getting their readings done and they seemed like regular clients. Anyway, a great place! My friends found this spot for my birthday weekend celebration of rest, relaxation and healing. We did the aura photo and it seems like it would be hogwash, but Kate, our aura interpreter, really hit the nail on the head with our readings. I can't say it aligned as well with the printouts we received, but what she told each of us was spot on! We were in awe and impressed by our readings. We all picked out a bracelet to help with what we needed to do to balance out our chakras a bit more, then promptly walked across the street to take our socks and shoes off so we could ground ourselves in the beach sand. We were told we needed a bit more of that to help balance ourselves out. I hope we can take her advice to help align our chakras and our lives a bit more. If you are open minded and would like to try something new, go to this place for a reading. This is definitely worth a try to see how balanced or imbalanced you are. My friends came here last year when one of my friends met someone at the House of Intuition in Coasta Mesa and told him about this place. We drove the same day to Laguna Beach to check out the place. Three of my friends did a reading which was a mix of results. My best friend definitely did not have a good reading with the psychic as in a lot she said was just completely off from her life. So I am a bit hesitant to get a reading here. As for their Aura reading, we all did it and all were happy with the results. The guy that helped us was on point with everything he said about each of us. He was very informative, professional, friendly and personable. He was really thorough with the Aura reading and we all appreciated how he took his time with each one of us. A few of my friends came back a year later (January) and he wasn't there. :( We all had our Aura reading again but it was with someone else and the experience wasn't the same. The Aura reading was still pretty awesome, but the person that read the Aura for us spoke so fast, spoke in general and wasn't personable. Cute place and came recommended by a friend. I had high expectations because I am from the Sedona/Flagstaff area... Walk in and there is no greeting. Just the 3 employees sitting behind the counter staring at me. Literally not even a "Hi." A couple employees walked right by and didn't even acknowledge me. A little "Hi" and "Are you finding everyone ok?" goes a LONG way. Also looks like some stuff hasn't even been cared for in a while. See the picture of the oils that have weeks of dust on them. I have such mixed feelings about this place. I continue to come back as they're the only local aura photography that I know of. However the readers seem to get younger and less experienced every time I go. For $50 each time (which takes them about 5-10 minutes) you would expect a little more training. It also seems like there is always bare minimum staff available. The pricing of their crystals is pretty outrageous to me, knowing what many other local shops charge (not to mention wholesale pricing at gem shows) so I have never bought even a single piece of quartz there (and I'm someone who has a collection of 1000+ crystals by now) If your looking for a unique gift, I would give it a try. They do have a great selection of tarot cards and a display binder you can use to check out some of the decks. They do have some really cute trinkets and jewelry. I have not tried their psychic readers there, I worry I would leave feeling that it was rushed, overpriced and not very experienced like with the photography readings. If the aura photography readings start to improve, I might consider trying the psychics/mediums in the future but right now I don't have the confidence that I would leave satisfied. read more

Fun, whimsical spot. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to us. One of the staff was very giving of her time to one of my friends. She definitely walked away with a quite a few freebies, as we left the store. I thought I'd try the Aura Photography for fun. It ran $45 (There is a more basic reading at $25). Since we did manage to get away with hiking Crystal Cove earlier that morning, without the $15 parking fee, I just took it as paying $30. All in good fun, take it with a grain of salt. Have a seat, put your hands and fingers on the sensor, and the camera and computer will compile your biological signature through an algorithm. Voila, your aura color and photo gets taken. And a pretty extensive print-out of what it all means. I've uploaded a sampling of what my reading consisted of, for those of you that want an idea of what it entails. It's very impressive how much the Violet Personality resonates and describes my real-life personality. For those of you who are spiritually minded, or actually see auras, this might be of interest to you. In the past, I've crossed paths with various aura readers and such. They have all consistently told me that my color runs on the purple to violet spectrum. More specifically, last month, I went to go see one of my professors from graduate school. The kinds of professor that sees auras, among other mystical things. He told me I have some Indigo, but overall, my aura runs Violet to Purple. Exactly as written in the full reading here at Chakra Shack. The photo matched my professor's description, exactly. Even one page of the reading mentions if I feel drained or scattered. My professor also had asked if I had been worried or stressed. I think at times, I try to ignore or tune out any sense of stress/worry. But in truth, even if my career has been the best it has ever been -- there are certain personal relationships that I have to come to terms with the fact that being my honest, authentic self will not allow for it to work. I love these types of cute little boutiques- they are fun and inviting and this location is prime! I'm going to talk about two incidents: My boyfriend and I decided to get a dual reading together as this was something they offered. So, we booked the reading and went in. It was a 45M reading and as we both sat in chairs she continued to focus only on my partner. Basically, I sat there, quietly and listened in on his entire reading. I would have rather not been in there for that. I felt like a crazy possessive gf who made him get the reading so I could listen in on it thankfully my bf and I have been together long enough for us to laugh about the situation but it was definitely weird that she didn't feel the need to do a reading for myself? Second time around I got another lady by myself who didn't seem to tap into anything other than giving business advice. She told me stories about her other clients, gave me some decent feedback/advice about my business and eventually offered to be my business mentor. Had a 30 min intuitive reading where I during my visit I heard Kristen's dog eating and licking itself the entire time. She drank a orange/carrot drink while doing my reading and at some put her thumb up her left nostril. All of this was super gross. Like--take your lunch break and leave your dog at home and then do the job I'm paying you for 30 min for 75 bucks and I get to hear you snapping at your dog? She kept insisting that I had a son, was going to have a son, or wanted a son. I kept saying nope, not even true and never will be true. The rest of the time she kept saying wow, I've got the chills, yep, the chills and would tell me very generic things or no words at all.
