Can't believe I haven't written a review for The Camp. One of our go-to places to hangout in HSV, mostly if the weather is nice, BUT there is coverage. We have been for several events that the camp hosts. Including NYE two years in a row - they have igloos you can rent where you have a personal waiter that comes to you and you can enjoy drinks, snacks, etc. ball drop with complimentary champagne. We've done Mardi Gras and their Crawfish Boil. All you can eat tickets for Crawfish are around $60 so a little pricey but a fun event. The Camp knows how to bring New Orleans to HSV. With the food, decorations, parades, etc. The owners are big Saints fans (Who Dat!) and I believe from? NOLA, so I love that they bring the culture here. They always have events at the Camp -- the best way to keep up weekly is via their Instagram. They have live music every week, BINGO nights, trivia nights, karaoke nights, Drag brunches (SO FUN!), and more! Halloween is definitely one of my favorite times at the camps. They go ALL OUT with decorations. Perfect spot for spooky season. Their cocktail menu has all time favorites and seasonal options. The drinks are a little pricey $12-18 for cocktails. Food options are typically yummy, my favorite is the fish sandwich & beer battered fries . The QR codes are located in various seat locations, that's where you can order food and it gets brought out to you. Their shrimp plate is also yummy. Another super fun time of year to go to the Camp is the Christmas pop-up! They make it so magical. Elf, The Grinch, and Santa show up - so bring the kiddos. Speciality cocktails in fun Christmas glasses. Amazing decorations you don't want to miss. Their hospitality and friendly staff really make this place run. There are multiple nooks and open- air spots to sit, TVs, heaters, fans, etc. the staff is happy to accommodate with fire pits, etc to keep you comfortable and having a good time. The bathrooms are super clean every time we've gone. Even when super busy the wait times are minimal for food and drink and it's always a fun time! On Sundays in the summer-Christmas they have Mic City Market at the Camp. It's amazing event to shop local & get gifts, fresh produce, meats, plants, and even adopt a pet! I have enjoyed the Camp a few times that I have visited Huntsville in the past. I've had friends and family perform here, drove here to see my brother and his friends while he was in town and had an end of bday celebration drink for my Dad's birthday. The bars and bathrooms tend to have long lines, but that is expected. Parking is plentiful, set up is cute, bartenders are efficient, lots of seating, inviting space. We came back for our annual Christmas get together and I will say that this year seemed more put together. They required reservations for everyone; however, online you had to pay for the cookies and milk and there wasn't another option. My friend went over in person and reserved our table and it didn't cost anything. Now we know. The food was a lot easier to order and they used a QR code and table number system. My food was good by the time it got to me and I had ordered chili. It was still good, but it should've been hot. read more

Really cute place! Definitely vibe-y. They had a great selection of holiday drinks. They were all really expensive though they were elaborate. We opted for the "Secret Santa" spiked hot cocoa. I spiked mine with peppermint schnapps and my husband did baileys. They were both delicious and came in a festive mug. Food options looked good, tho also a tad expensive. For the most part I've had great experiences here. It's always a good place to hang out with friends. Drinks are fairly priced and always fun. I haven't tried much food here but the carne asada fries are amazing. The farmers market is always enjoyable. They have live music every week and sometimes even full blown concerts like during the crawfish festival. The area and music are great. The food....meh. To order food here, you scan the QR code on the table. The options are limited, and it's mostly bar Food which is fine, but they have a pretty high price tag for the quality. It's mediocre at best. I had the burger and a side of fries. It was $30, including the $4 tip. When the waitress dropped off the food, she didn't ask any follow-up questions like "does every thing look okay" or "do you need anything else". If she had taken this small step, she would have realized she didn't bring me any utensils or napkin. She just dropped the food and booked it. Definitely not worth the $4 tip I added. Such a cute place to hang out this friends! Currently they are running their "Miracle" Theme that is based on Christmas. EVERYTHING is Christmasy and so cute!!! We took mistletoe shots that I wouldn't definitely suggest you try. They soak their whisky in cinnamon sticks to achieve the flavor. I had a Christmaspolitan as my drink of choice and it was light an delicious. Everyone in my group throughly enjoyed their time. If you're making reservations on a cold night I highly suggest the peppermint room because it's indoors and well heated!! My wife and i came here for some late night drinks. We ordered the $16 carne asada fries. The Toast system with lazy QR codes on the tables didn't work for 30 mins (since there were 0 wait staff). We paid $4 extra equaling $20. We received them via a scream into the audience with the most unimpressive amount of food. Absolutely not extra steak. On top of that, they have an auto-selected 20% tip. With a female food runner that had the most negative attitude and crap/overpriced food... we will NEVER be back. What a joke. read more

What a great night we had at The Camp! We came from out of town and were celebrating my son-in-law's birthday yesterday. The manager Jordyn was fantastic and when she found out about the birthday, she surprised us arriving at our table with some complimentary drinks to celebrate. Previous to this she noticed my husband was in the line of fire of the sprinklers and came over to see if we wanted them turned off. What awesome service, and so fun to play bingo. The Camp is a cool place to hang out for young adults or folks with families. There's a coffee shop, a couple of permanent food trucks, and a bar. The food from the Camp's primary truck (the fire truck) is pretty solid, generic American food. We tried the nachos and the sliders on a recent visit and enjoyed them. Still gotta try Superhero Chefs (more gourmet southern style offerings) and Tamarind Island Grill (Caribbean food!). The drinks are also enjoyable, though a touch expensive in my opinion. They are often served in novelty cups, so that's rather fun. The Camp is very close to MidCity, so it's easy to stop over there for food or shopping needs too. They run markets through the warmer months, and also often have pop up themed bars and events during holiday seasons. We recently made reservations and attended Miracle at MidCity, which is a Christmas themed pop up bar. It was $75 for a reservation, which got us a charcuterie board for 4 and milk and cookies. The food was good and I guess we were guaranteed a spot, though that price ultimately stung for what we got - at least in my view. Still, we had a fun time and I'd probably go again, but just take my chances on a table and buy my own food/drink rather than blow that much on reservations. Now this review is for the Food, and the venue. The venue is through the roof cool! It's so nice to be outside listening to music, the stage and the vintage lighting is such COOL atmosphere, and so earthy and relaxed. One of the best in Hsv. Put on your luau shirt, let the breezes blow, and grab a beer. The venue I think warrants a five star. Now the food. The food is barely passable. All uninspiring dishes fraught with fried options, and no signature offerings that I could see. Now this food from The Camp, not from other on-site vendors which vary. I figured I'd get the "Surf-N-Turf", seems good with crawfish on the burger. Well as you can see from the pic pre-frozen shrimp is not seasoned crawfish. I'll give 'em a little credit that the burger wasn't overcooked like so many places do. I won't go into paying $13 for this dried fried dish. I'll give 'em a three star, and I'm being generous. In all, this is a four star place. I definitely recommend, mostly because of the cool venue. read more

Do not go here! We went at 10pm on Saturday and the bartender refused to make us a drink because he "had already cleaned his bar" so could only give us a drink in a can. We got a drink in a can and then 6 minutes later he began walking around and shooing people out. We asked about them closing because their website says 11pm and he said "yea we do close at 11 but we're just trying to get out of here early." This was at about 10:15pm. Awful service. Attended an event at this venue and was blown away by how cool it is. I kept looking for a restaurant entrance and then realized it's an outdoor restaurant hidden behind bamboo, at least from one side, which was pretty cool. Feels like you've stumbled into an oasis. Nice place for outdoor eating-- food trucks surrounded the central tables/ chair setup, complete with fire pit. Great for: lunch with kids during later, off-hours. Relaxed setting. Most people wear masks, hand sanitizer station is decent (not great, as touch-less is needed, no one wants to open a packet of wipes. Bring your own!) Adirondack chairs, fire pit, astro turf, bar, food trucks and the occasional water mister hidden in the trees. Haven't been back to HSV in a few years since I moved to CA and thought I would give this place a chance. I would overall give it a 3.5. Cute and fun atmosphere. Drinks aren't too bad. My mimosa was hands down was probably one of the best I've had since it was fresh squeezed (also in front of me). The adult Capri Sun was $10 with a Tito's shot and I had the pineapple thyme flavor. I couldn't really taste the thyme and would suggest muddling for improved taste. Sunday there is a small farmers market but nothing worth hurrying over for. Huntsville is getting there! read more

This place is rude and not good neighbors to Holiday Inn guests. Loud music as late as 11:00 some nights. And it is LOUD! Many people like me would probably do business with them if they didn't keep you up late at night. Move to a different location, be quieter, close earlier, anything! read more

Reserved an area for six for Miracle at The Camp. The set up was cute. Our server Ben was fantastic. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. Overall this should have been a great holiday experience and a nice Girls night out, but towards the end of our time things took a turn. First we were approached by a hostess giving us a heads up that our area had another reservation - totally fine - we had been there for about an hour and a half and were almost done with a second round of drinks. She said she would send someone over to cash us out. We tried to keep things simple and just split the total bill six ways. Ben's wireless check out device wasn't working properly and it took a while to get it going. In the midst of him cashing us out another waitress comes over and rudely mentions that we should already be gone and can she clear anything out of the way then only picks up two cups. A couple more hostesses come over and awkwardly try to clear a couple more plates and cups. One of them bumps into someone in our party and didn't say anything. Ben eventually gets us all cashed out and then they frantically try to clean up the area for the next reservation. The whole situation at the end was pretty rude and ruined our time. I highly doubt we'll go back and at one point we were going to The Camp every Sunday. We would have gladly just moved to another table - as there were plenty of open tables that didn't have reservations- and had another cocktail before leaving. I think it would be nice if when you were seated they would tell you if there's a reservation following yours and what time it is so you can plan instead of awkwardly coming over to say you need to leave when you still have food sitting on the table. This issue could also easily be solved if when booking it said an hour limit or two hour limit like some of the pop ups in Nashville do. I truly wish we had a better overall experience because this was a planned night out and we were really enjoying our time. read more
