This is a shout out to William Heath and Matthew Vonesh of Calling Hours. Please read the following testimonial which reflects their dedication, team work, and outstanding work ethic.
We first met William Heath when my mother passed away in December of 2019. We reached out to our friend Ashley Milam and the Milam Funeral Home for the final arrangements and that is when we met William. As difficult as this time was for us, William was a source of compassion, comfort, and hope. He was professional, but human, he was on-point, but flexible, his words and his silence when needed were perfect. He understood the grief, the sadness, and the sense of loss, but he also encouraged us to talk about my mother and celebrate her life, he was interested in her history and her legacy. He put together an entire slide show which showed my mother exactly how she was, and he also made the funeral pamphlet which was a perfect illustration of my mother's heritage, passions, and personality. William really helped us get through this transition, his warmth and compassion were genuine.
Several months ago, my fiancée and I started to plan our wedding. Due to COVID-19, we decided to have a small in-person wedding but have most of our guests join us via Zoom. We were at a loss because we were trying to plan everything ourselves and there was quite a bit to do. Ashley Milam mentioned that William, in addition to being an excellent funeral director, was also an outstanding event planner. We were thrilled to hear this and based on our experience with William at my mother's funeral, we reached out to him for a meeting. Through William, we also met Matthew Vonesh, who being a videographer and audio/video technician, made him a perfect choice to conduct the Zoom portion of our wedding.
We met William and Matthew to discuss the specifics of our wedding and they were immediately drawn in. They both asked detailed questions on the type of wedding we wanted, the look, the feel, the amount of people present, colors, decorations, ambiance, and Zoom dynamics. We explained that we hired a Zoom company based in Colorado who would manage the Zoom broadcast, but we needed a technician to coordinate the details on-site.
William and Matthew did an incredible amount of research about how to make our day as perfect as possible. They were very interested in doing the best job possible to create our fairy tale wedding. William and Matthew worked tirelessly to make this happen. They went to the venue several times to discuss set-up logistics, the dynamics of the ceremony, and the vision we had for the reception. The four of us had several meetings with the Zoom wedding company to discuss camera positions and angles, the quality of the audio, placement of speakers, and flow of events. The biggest challenge was to coordinate the on-site wedding with the Zoom transmission and not allow the on-site guests and the Zoom guests to wait too long during intermissions. William and Matthew coordinated the sequence of events and times so that the entire event would flow smoothly.
William worked tirelessly to get the look we wanted for the wedding. He provided a myriad of suggestions. He was super organized and on the ball from day one. He made sure the entire wedding schedule was on time and things flowed smoothly, both on Zoom and on-site. Matthew spent many hours drawing and testing audio and visual schematics, studying camera positions for best angles and coverage, ensuring audio specifics with our on-site DJ, communicating with the Zoom wedding company coordinator, and doing multiple trials on site. On the day of the rehearsal, it was raining, and both William and Matthew didn't hesitate. They were on site, outdoors, with umbrellas and Ziplock bags over all the cameras doing a Zoom rehearsal with us.
On the day of the wedding, William and Matthew were there early. Will had a binder labeled Arlene and Marlin's wedding and he was ready to work. He decorated the entire venue, all the tables, the lighting, the bar, and the area around a beautiful fountain. His taste for table décor, placement of center pieces, lights, arrangement of displays was spot-on. He communicated with all vendors to ensure everything was on time and correct, and all the guests loved his demeanor and subtleness the day of the wedding. At the end of the night, he made sure the entire event was cleared and cleaned up. Matthew set up all the cameras, speakers, laptops, and a big TV which was part of the Zoom. He ran around during the wedding ensuring that camera angles and positions were changed and moved speakers and cables to ensure perfect audio.
William and Matthew were invaluable in the success of our wedding. They worked tirelessly to ensure the entire event was flawless, and it was. William and Matthew are a great duo and they form an incredible team to bring you as perfect of an event as possible. We highly recommend them for any event you may have. read more
