We are still receiving rave reviews about the quality of the appetizers, main dishes and extras throughout the night. The portions were beyond and all of our guests were totally satisfied. We were overwhelmed with calls, texts and emails from our guests about the quality of everything mentioned above. We were required to provide kosher food for certain of our guests and they too were extremely satisfied. If you are planning a large event, David Silber and his wonderful staff will provide you with a worry free event of the highest quality. We feel that we received excellent value. We highly recommend Encore and would utilize their services again should we be fortunate enough to make another function.

The location was a bit hard to get to since we decided to take transit but that is only a minor issue. The real bright spot is the staff that work there. They are super friendly and very efficient. Nothing seemed like too much of an issue for them. You can tell they take a lot of pains to hire the right person for this type of job. The event was a cash bar and they were a bit slow to process people paying by tapping. This could easily be improved with today's technology options but this did not take away from the overall experience.

Nothing I would wish on any business so how do we help them make it through these unprecedented times? Well, we try their foods and tell the world about them! This is my first caterer/food delivery service review. I thought I could cook my way through all this chaos - but there are only so many meals and variations I can do with meat, kimchi, and lettuce! OMG! I don't remember how many bowls of instant ramen has passed through my well developing spare tire around my gut! I'm taking that Covid-19lbs challenge serious! LOL! I've been asked to try some various foods and endorse them but it's not my thing. Unless I like it, I won't post it or I might POST a real humzinger of a post if I really disliked something. I had some thaw and chaw (usually raw) dinners. -.- I had some heat and eat - yeah... that didn't go right. :( I had some take and make - hmm... this has promise. I like take and make. You still have to prep it. You can get creative with the starch (sorry keto-peeps) and veggies (yes, I said veggies... veggiemaniacs revel in that statement! You might be hard pressed to see it again!) :D Presidential Gourmet makes food prep easy and bang on. Just follow the heating instructions on their label and you can't go wrong. I made their Maple Salmon - 5 mins in boiling water and a perfect medium rare. 7mins will give you medium - whatever you fancy it was a great meal. The Chimichurri Flank Steak was so perfect. Put in the oven or on a BBQ - 12mins later... Ta-da!!! Just check out my plated pics! FYI - I don't have a bbq...so sad. Dang it for living in a condo with a no BBQ on the Balcony rule! BUT...It was perfectly done in a toaster oven! Ye-yah! True Story!!! :) I also had the Shepherds Pie. A little salty for my taste but it is supposed to be had with some plain starch which would balance it. All in all, I'm looking forward to placing an order with them again soon. Talking about ordering, it's not a place that makes a bunch of food and freezes it. That's the beauty of this place. They make it and take it to you - vacuum sealed bags and not frozen! They deliver twice per week. Order by Tues night, get it Friday. Order by Fri night, get it Tuesday. Simple enough. I'm fresh out of Salmon because my kid devoured two steaks in one sitting with all the Paella. The other kid on his visit had the steak. The interior of the place looks recently renovated, and its beautiful with white and marble decorations everywhere. The other attendees were walking around taking photos of the place. As the name implies, it does have a crystal fountain. It's a little bit underwhelming, but it does make a great centerpiece. We had a buffet style continental breakfast and lunch, and food was served along the edges of the fountain. I read a comment on here about how the chairs were nice enough to not be decorated and I completely agree! Their tables and chairs required very little decoration as it's already really nice. The only thing that was a bit strange was that the main washrooms were upstairs, and they weren't particularly nice either. They do have washrooms on the main floor but they're quite small (two stalls each).

I suppose that the talent pool has run out and the company cannot afford to get everyone into psychological recovery sessions after performing in these gatherings. This year, it was time to enjoy everyone's company at a banquet and shell out. We had our Christmas party was Pearl Banquet Hall. Pearl Banquet Hall is a convenient five-minute drive from the office. Last Tuesday, I was taking a 7 am conference call from home that lasted for four hours. I took the final hour of my call in my car, opting to pick up a new employee and one of my students to the venue. Pearl is on a street with a bunch of industrial factories. It's an odd location, but I am getting used to this setup around this area. We got there before 11 am, as our team was a part of the gingerbread-decorating competition. There was plenty of parking in the lot. However, there must have been 300 of us. Those coming in later, such as my manager, had to park on the street. The banquet hall is pretty big. We had round tables set up where each one accommodated ten guests. The place settings were nicely done with a Christmas-themed centrepiece and a number on each table. We went on stage to participate in our gingerbread-decorating competition. I was so proud of how our team did despite not getting the grand prize. There were two long tables for all teams to work on our gingerbread houses for an hour. The food was primarily East Indian, with some western items tossed in for variety. There were hors d'oeuvres after we were done with our gingerbread houses. One area had coffee tea, milk, and cookies available. The hot foods area had fried fish, chilli chicken, and chana. I loved the fried fish the best. It was flavourful, crispy, and delicious. I liked the chilli chicken and chana, too. The flavours were perfect. Lunch was served just after noon. It was buffet-style and folks from specific table numbers were invited to help themselves. It was like lining up to board a plane. Our team was seated closest to the buffet area. However, we were pretty close to the end of the number-calling process. When our table number was finally called, it was like the gate was opened and the hound dogs were released on the track to run wild. We headed over to the food area to line up. I loaded up on naan, chicken tikka masala, salad, noodles, rice, and chicken in mushroom sauce. I loved the chicken in mushroom sauce. It was a nice change. The chicken breast was perfectly done and the mushroom sauce was scrumptious. It was a first for me to dip my warm, soft naan into the sauce in my life. I overdosed on carbs. For the next two hours, I sat at the table with my colleagues in a carb coma. Note to myself: Don't get four pieces of naan with noodles and rice, and expect fo function normally. Don't ask me how I managed to levitate from my seat and head over to the dessert area. I couldn't even tell you. I did manage to get a small piece of chocolate cake with mousse and a brownie. I loved the former. It was so good. The brownie was dense, but good. I went back into my food coma for a bit after eating them. Staff clearing our plates and bringing water to our tables were prompt and professional. They were hard-working and great. Our social committee planned a number of games, including a marshmallow mouth-catching one. It got messy with missed marshmallows everywhere on what was the dance floor. Staff at Pearl were great at bringing brooms to clear the marshmallows away so we could continue with our games. Nice job! Washroom signs were clearly marked in the banquet hall. The women's washroom was clean and bright, with plenty of stalls. I liked that the mirrors had built-in power buttons. You press the button, and the mirror provides more lighting to apply your makeup or get a closer look at your pulsating zit. The bar was steps behind our table. It wasn't open bar for our party, but those paying $5 a drink were pretty pleased with their booze. I had a wonderful time. I hope that we have another Christmas party next year at this venue. (427)

I helped with a wedding with several hundred guests catered by M&O. Jordan as a person was a clear…read morecommunicator. The food was delicious. However, the set-up (name cards/place settings/centerpieces) was at a glacial pace such that there was no time for wedding helpers to verify all hundreds of name cards were placed at the correct seats by M&O staff. A second consequence was that guests were unable to mingle in the reception hall any earlier despite the ceremony having ended early, and some guests were forced to wait outside despite the cold. Jordan attempted to offer alternatives, but the set up staff did not speed up the set up process, and guests continued to wait outside the reception hall in a standing room only lobby area (and expressed frustration about that). Name cards were swapped/the opposite of what the bride outlined in the seating chart, so that at long rectangular tables a husband/wife were sitting at opposite ends. The staff potentially were not from M&O (potentially outsourced from a different company) but some did not clarify seating, and as a result, mixed up all the food orders. Some individual waitstaff were quite good about verifying name card placements but others did not verify them at all. Hopefully no one had a severe allergic reaction that night, as the seating chart from the bride and the reality of where names were placed were completely different for some tables. M&O also took boxes of glasses filled with water one by one to set up (instead of wheeling out several carts which would have expedited the process) and set everything up extremely slowly. Staff also served only 2 plates at a time, with about 6-8 people being served at a time. At a large wedding, this was disastrous because it took more than 40 minutes for them to serve the main course to everyone. This threw off the whole schedule of speeches so in the end we were more than an hour behind schedule. They also expressed a preference for people to be seated while the courses were being served due to the tight space (the tables were quite close together because the venue should not have allowed so many guests in that particular hall/room), which is a tad unreasonable at a wedding with several hundred people. In the end, guests couldn't enjoy the photo booth nor mingle as freely, and the schedule was extremely behind because speeches couldn't go on while people were in the middle of being served. Not sure if M&O outsourced their waitstaff to a 3rd party company that night, but would not recommend to anyone unfortunately despite the food tasting good.

But as a guest, I found the food to be delicious and beautifully presented! The servers at the wedding were attentive, friendly, and very professional. Always making an effort to serve on the left and clear on the right, tidying up our napkins when we stepped away from our seats, making sure we never had empty drinking glasses or wine glasses, etc. Really wonderful meal (salad, braised beef with veggies, and molton lava cake for dessert).
