They are hands down the BEST!! I have been purchasing them for years and I have never been disappointed. They taste great when prepared properly! The guys behind the counter are always kind and helpful and will freezer-wrap any meat order you want. Like I said...there are many fantastic butcher shops in The Bronx...and all over NYC, but when you find a place that works...you just stick with that! Again...in my opinion, the BEST Veal around! They sell a variety of meats including beef, poultry, pork, veal and they specialize in homemade Italian sausages. I came in specifically looking for steak and the guy who helped me answered all of my questions regarding the different types of cuts. The staff was helpful and very efficient, they gave me a sheet with information on the different temperatures to cook the meat. I ended up ordering the NY strip steak. The meat had a nice amount of marbling and was very tender and flavourful. The meat was such great quality that even though I slightly overcooked it, it remained very tender. I only added minimal seasoning, salt and pepper with butter and flavor was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for quality meat.

Most recently, I was given noticeably less than what I paid for, with the usual excuse of "fat trimming" -- a weak cover-up for the amount shorted. On top of that, they sell lottery tickets, which says enough about their moral compass islamically, they don't mind scamming their customers! Not a place I can trust doing business with EVER, and definitely not what you'd expect from a so called "halal" business. They will be held accountable one day for their shady business practices.

It's also reassuring to see familiar faces who know you and your tastes. Everything from nose to tail is available. Then there are house made sausages, and if you're there at right time you can see them made! See photos. In the case facing the aisle are a variety of prepared products. Many are very cost effective, in the long run. The butchers can even give cooking advice; they are that professional and knowledgeable. It always amazes me how sharp their knives are, like laser sabres.
