It's hard to believe an award winning steak restaurant can be found beyond the walls of a somewhat uninviting exterior. The restaurant however is cosy and I can't say I noticed but a wood fire would be amazing in Winter. Definitely on the cold, rainy day I came.
Naturally I ordered a steak. I had the scotch fillet which came with beans, thick cut chips, lemon and choice of sauce. This is where the award winning bit irks me. Serve something on a fancy plate with beans and strategically stacked chips and it's something special. The steak was a good size and cooked to my liking but I would much rather the steak my partner cooks. Certainly considering the price comparison. Not sure if this is the effect they are going for but the size and presentation of the steaks is completely at odds with the other menu options which are served more pub style eg: larger portions and more casual. read more
