This is my 3rd time coming to the burger custom made and I always come for the clam chowder soup! The staff were quick to get us seated (earlier than our reservation time) and offered promp menu and drinks offerings after being seated. We went here at 8:30pm. It took 15 minutes to take our drink order of Cokes and water. Another 15 minutes to get them and another 10 to get a waiter to order. So this was an ala carte restaurant at the vidanta resort in Puerto Vallarta. I had heard a lot of riff raff at the resort about this restaurant and wanted to try it out. For starters, this place was extraordinarily #slow and highly over priced. As I am detoxing/ de-stressing at a resort, I was really not in a rush to leave, however waiting for approximately 40 minutes for burgers to arrive, is somewhat strange. I guess they really make their burgers "custom made". We had ordered this 4 item combo appetizer which consisted of 2 servings of guacamole, and then a serving of salmon and fried shrimp. I thought that because of the price, these appetizers would have been on a bigger scale but they were petite and under whelming. As far as taste, guacamole was good and salmon is fine too but I expected more. The main items was our cheeseburger and then the peppercorn burger on a baguette. The burgers did not come with fries and it was separate to order those. There was no combos available. I opted to not order any FF. Burgers were ok. Cheeseburger was good but my peppercorn burger was so so as it was sloppy. While the service was slow (food preparation), the waiters were very friendly and often engaged in conversations with us. They were busy waiting a whole bunch of tables and were hard workers. I personally do not see myself going back to this restaurant and for that matter, not visiting Vidanta resorts either. read more

If for the unfortunate chance that you do come across this place, order the Kobe burger. That's the only good thing from here. My girl friend ordered the sliders and only the Kobe was good. They did not understand the assignment. Even the desert was mediocre. Don't get me wrong, the servers are busting their tail but as far as overall I experience definitely a 2/5. Ordered my peppercorn hamburger medium well. When it came, I took off the top of the long bun and began eating the hamburger with a knife and fork. The end of the hamburger was done, but when I got about a quarter of the way through, the hamburger was raw in the middle. I called over the waitress, who took it to the kitchen. A while later, she brought the same burger back re-cooked. Still, the middle was rare, not medium well. This time, I summoned the manager, who again was apologetic and offered to bring me a new plate that he would cook himself. I politely refused and told him to bring me some thing that was already completely cooked in the kitchen. My partner had a pulled pork sandwich that was good and I settled for that. The scenery of the restaurant is beautiful. Someone at pool had warned me about the undercooked food. Even the waitress told me that they tended to undercooked their food when I asked at the beginning of the meal. Maybe they should invest a few dollars in food thermometer !! I gave it three stars for the ambience, the fact that our service was good, the fact that the manager handled the problem well and the fact that my partners sandwich was good. Very high prices. My burger was very tiny on a big bun. Wasn't juicy, wasn't a good size for the money and it was cold along with my sweet potato fries ( which by the way were tastier than the burger). Vidanta seems also to do fries really well. Yup, pricier than burgers off property. If that's a big issue, perhaps people should stay elsewhere - it's a big world and being grouchy is a heavy burden. I was between a 3 and a 4 for this rating. I wish I could have given it a 3.5. The atmosphere here is really pretty, an open-air place in the Grand Luxxe, which was convenient for us since it was raining that night and we didn't feel like walking far or taking the trams. The service was friendly, prompt and polite. We also didn't mind the two adorable small cats that hung around our table (a black one and a white one). It was quite a surprise when we noticed them, but we love cats and they were so sweet. They seemed hungry but didn't bother us. I don't know if I was supposed to, but I gave them some small bites. Despite all the options for different kinds of burgers, I had the basic cheeseburger and it was very good, I had no complaints at all. My husband had the "special" burger with mushrooms and swiss. He said it wasn't bad, but not a big deal. On the side we had sweet potato fries and fried pickles. Both were pretty good as well. Of the two I think I liked the fried pickles best. I'm not sure why it's called The Burger "Custom Made", but maybe because there are quite a few options, including more unusual items such as pork, lamb, and lobster burger. We ate here the first night at the resort, and were happily fed. It's a long trek to the restaurant from our part of the resort, so we took the trams, no problem. Sat on the deck, nice ambiance. We really liked the meals, I got some trio of sliders, everything was great. Interior was cool, nicely appointed decor. This place is fantastic! Located in the Punta Building at the Grande Luxxe, they have all kinds of options for everyone. They also have gluten, dairy free, vegan options, and take care of allergies well. It is really well decorated, and if you sit by the lake area you can gaze over at the sunset. They have all kinds of options that are reasonably priced. Burgers, salads, soups, and all kinds of different sides. They also have specials. They have dessert as well, and my favourite desserts are the milkshakes. They are so creamy and delicious. First off we had to wait an hour for appetizers. They weren't bad but still, an HOUR for one of the three groups eating (waiting to eat in other words). Then we had to wait about an hour and a half for under cooked burgers(for those who ordered). For a place that specializes on burgers this was just terrible. Fast forward 45 minutes when we get dessert. The shake was just liquid with a few chunks of who knows what. The the mini cupcakes would have tasted better in an easy-bake oven. Our burgers were fantastic! Highly recommend this place. Service was fantastic. E Pura water is just as good as Evian, so order that to drink. Sweet potato fries were delicious.
