Don't worry- if you pay for 2 years of their School of SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY which sounds more Harry Potter than church, you qualify to do the inner healing yourself- and just wait! Then, if you're really really devoted- the kind of people donating 50k at a fundraiser by being peer pressured in front of the entire church by Tom, they might also make you- I mean encourage you, to HOST HOUSE CHURCH! WHOO You have to host random people in your home, feeding and entertaining them while they do Jesus jam session for hours in your house on a week night. Then ask to use your pool. But wait! there's more! If you devote yourself JUST RIGHT to Tom oops I mean God, you'll be asked to do even MORE within the church like music or outreach and after they find you really, truly devoted, you get to be a a DISCIPLE. They are anointed and everything. The boundaries between work and home life and church life are completely blurred. This is how it starts- love bombing and over generosity. Then hold firm that you need 'inner healing' by what seems like a qualified pastor. But it's just senior church members who are trained in asking super personal questions in very particular ways to extract deep dark secrets you'd never have considered sharing outside of this hyper pressured setting. Each session is $100 REQUIRED DONATION which dead stopped me. It's not a donation if it's required. The intake form I was sent equally bizarre- asking me if I've ever done a ouija board, had certain thoughts or watched Harry Potter. Like THOSE are the influences I should be worried about. Regardless of if you do inner healing or not, they'll continue to love bomb you and pray over you constantly while pretending to speak in tongues and claim miracles on the daily. Lots of touching and people crying and moaning over you while they wait for you to have a loud spiritual release. Kinda gross tbh. They specialize in fancy 'speakers' from all over the place for show and 'planting churches' in the most vulnerable parts of the world with no accountability because who is really checking on people in BURKINA FASO AND ROMANIA. I am used to a more upbeat worship singing and live music and Modern Christian songs. The songs at Christ the rock are Slow, kind of dry. Pastor does a great job preaching, however he too is a bid dry and never leaves his podium. If you want to bring in new blood to the church, you're going to have to step it up! I had to try another worship center as I had a hard time staying awake.

As a nursing mom I love the nursing suite in the library. It had a great view and you don't miss a thing and your little one doesn't disturb. The Grove, their kid department, is packed full of kids and friendly volunteers. Every 5th Sunday in the month they have a potluck after church. Great way to meet people and eat some good food. The pastor, Jim Hays, always delivers a deep and thoughtful sermon. I leave feeling like I've learned something and inspired to study the Word.

So why not head over to Evergreen? We'd been to a couple of their Christmas services and we miss going to a big church, so this fit the bill. The worship music was awesome and the new pastor is young and funny. He's not as good as my pastor to be honest, but he's good and has a lot of energy. I like how they have both self-serve coffee and baristas so you can purchase a customized drink. Plus they serve pastries from The Bread Peddler, which is the best. We went to the service at noon and there was enough parking, even during service so it was nice and easy.
