sales guy was friendly but gave misleading information about delivery times. we now have to wait an additional week for our laundry machines...leaving us now 3 weeks without working machines at home. Two months, two dishwashers, both defective. Unprofessional, rude management. This has been one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've had. We purchased our original dishwasher at the end of November from The Brick. After weeks of waiting, it was finally installed -- only to be discovered that the unit had physical drum damage and had to be removed. The installer was also unprofessional. A replacement dishwasher was purchased at the beginning of January. After additional delays, it was installed in mid-February -- and once again, the unit does not work. All indicator lights remain on and the dishwasher cannot be reset or powered down. In other words, two consecutive dishwashers, both non-functional, after over two months. What made this experience significantly worse was the conduct of the store manager, Jessie Castillo. During our discussion, she audibly laughed while I was speaking, repeatedly cut me off when I tried to ask questions or seek clarification, and consistently deflected responsibility instead of addressing the issue. The tone was dismissive and unprofessional, especially given the length and seriousness of the problem. At this point, this is not bad luck or a minor inconvenience -- it is a failure to supply working goods after an unreasonable delay. After two months, two failed installations, and dismissive treatment from management, confidence in this store is completely gone. I would strongly caution anyone considering major appliance purchases from this location. Between the delays, defective products, repeated installation failures, and poor handling by store management, this was an unacceptable experience from start to finish. This store had multiple opportunities to resolve this professionally and failed each time. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this location to anyone. read more

Annoyed to say the least. I bought a sectional and it was delivered on the 3rd of January. It arrived with a broken leg. I called the store immediately and never received an apology. I was simply told that they would order a new one. I offered to come to the store if possible and the reply I got was I will add a note. I have books stacked under my couch while I wait. I emailed the store and received a response equally disappointing. "We ordered it the same day" No ETA and no apology or offer on how to make it right. Terrible customer service. I will be sure to share everywhere I can until I receive my leg. And even then, will be sure to caution folks on the risk of purchasing items and dealing with customer service at the Brick. Buyers Beware If you are looking at buying a mattress do yourself a favour and buy from anywhere BUT The Brick. Absolutely the worst mattresses you could lay on. Want to comaplin to someone about it? good luck it's like pulling teeth... when you want to speak to a manager or head office you have to send an email then they won't respond back. we bought a mattress and box spring, after a few months the mattress started to sag and collapsed on the one side. We received a credit towards another bed after being rejected the first time. We were told we had to get the same bed... ( makes no sense) any bed we we looked at we had to spend another $500 on top of the credit and we were told if we wanted a new warranty we need to also buy a new box spring..... The Brick couldn't be bothered to help us in any way possible.. never again will I, family or friends buy anything from this place. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! The Brick in St. Catharines, They lie to you about warranty, exchange/return policy. They told us they wouldn't take our TV back because it was their policy and their policy was written on the receipt they gave us. The problem is, we never received a receipt. Then they told us that did not matter and that we would have received an E-mail from them stating their return/exchange policy. Another lie, we never gave them an E-mail as they did not ask for one when the TV was first purchased. Their Operation Manager, Paul Wright, and their store Manager Jessy (she would not give me her last name) both stated that we should have been given the receipt that had their policy on written on there, but because it was there policy, it didn't matter. Paul Wright & Jessy are incompetent, unprofessional and quite disrespectful individuals. Spend your money else where! read more

On August 20th we ordered 2 reclnining living room chairs. They were out of stock and we were advised they would be in by October 1st. The one chair came in but the other was back ordered, we were told that they would hold onto the chair and deliver them both together. Then we got a call saying they wanted to deliver the chair because they were afraid it would be sold by mistake, so we took it. We were advised the other chair should be in by the end of October, just dropped in at the store today October 30th and were told it was back ordered again, may be in by mid November. This is very disappointing, they do not seam to care and we have not even gotten an appology. read more

We bought a sofa bed, easy boy chair, coffee table, end table, bed, mattress, pillows etc. etc. and spent $4100. A couple months later the zipper on the chair cushion split open. They sent a guy out to assess it and photograph it. They said it would be ordered and sent soon. This was in 2020. We called many times and they just gave us the run around. It's nearing the fall of 2022 and we are still waiting. Will we EVER buy from The Brick again? Not a chance. Save your money. Buy from a reputable furniture retailer - anybody but the Brick - they are scammers and it seems part of their corporate culture. This is the Bricks version of "in-home delivery", despite the fact that the salesperson promised that the delivery would include setup. After spending over $2200 for a couch with delivery, this is how the couch was left at my home. I had to remove the plastic/cardboard, assemble the couch and clean up all by myself. Not real impressed. I contacted the store to have a supervisor call me and they are avoiding me - they're refusing to call me to resolve this. Very disappointing. I spent over 10000 there on appliances. the freezer had a dent and their "remedy " was an ice maker. the kit came incomplete and was worthless. upon there technicians coming they told me that they could not install it. i subsequently got Lincoln appliances to come and take a look. i had to order another "complete " kit and now it works. the staff and manager Yesenia Castillo gave me nothing but excuses and attitude when asked what their ice maker could not be installed. Absolutely terrible service on my LG fridge and their warrantee stinks too. 2 and a half weeks to fix my fridge under warrantee. Everyone that I called was miserable except Valentina and Amber were very nice in the St. Catharines Brick store. Nobody from head office or the St. Catharines store returned my call or the service company. They said someone would get back to me within 48 hours and nobody did. So dissapointed in the Brick after purchasing 3 bedroom suites , a diningroom suite, 2 livingroom suites and an area carpet , a 70" and 80" television a fridge and a stove with a new vent. Customer service at King and State (warrantee compony) told me that they were in charge of the Brick. Purchased a sectional sofa from the Tent outside that was listed at 1500 bargained and paid 1000 instead....went inside looking for a dining table. Hot a great dining table for 1000 bargained as well as it was listed for 1400. Within a week two men showed up and assembled the table and couch as well. Overall I am very happy with The Brick! Nothing was damaged and for 2000 I got both a dining set and a very large size couch!:) read more

We purchased a dishwasher from this location during a kitchen reno... unfortunately it was a few weeks before we finalized everything and finally installed it. After about two weeks of struggle with it (way too small for us) we reached out to try and exchange, but we were after the 30-day exchange period. The shopping experience was fantastic, starting with store manger Ken and sales associate Read who were both very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Purchased Livingroom furniture costing $ 4993.00. The furniture was not I stock and was ordered. I was told that it would take 5 weeks to come in. Five weeks went by and I called and was told it would be another 4 weeks. I attempted to contact the Manager a number of times. He called back once and said he would look into it and never called back. I cancelled my order. The sales people and manager were extremely helpful when I made the purchase and extremely evasive when I was trying to make inquiries only stating they had no control of their suppliers. I recently purchased a bedroom set from The Brick. Our order was placed a month in advance when shortly after we received our 1st of 5 phone calls to tell us our order would be delayed. After numerous conversations telling us there was nothing they could do, I then came into contact with a representative who at one point in our conversation told me to "stop talking" repeatedly. I truly understand working any job in customer service is an extremely hard one. It tests your patience in more ways than one and me calling during the holidays I'm sure these people were stressed to the max. However, I should never hear anyone try expressing their concern and frustrating in a calmly matter just to be talked down to they was this woman had talked down to me. We have now waited over month for our purchase, my patience has (and still is) winding down rapidly. The representative (located at the Niagara Falls store) then placed me on mute as I grew more and more frustrated with her poor attitude. After I had advised her I was aware of her actions, she came back to the conversation and told me she was just waiting for me to stop talking so she could say something. I no longer felt comfortable speaking to this woman and requested to speak to the floor manager which she refused to do because it was too busy of a time for their store and she would write my name and number down and a manager would call me back. Finally after many minutes of arguing, I arranged to have her put me on hold to flag down a manager. The duration of this call ended up being over an hour. An hour of having several people talk down to me and severely question my choice in choosing this company. At one point they tried convincing me to cancel my order and buy a different bedroom set (that cost more money) and after I refused to do so, they offered to "see what they could do to match the price of the different bed set". After hearing our own family and friends give us their own disappointing feedback regarding The Brick, we now have one more terrible experience to add to the pile. We gave our time, trust and money to this company and can truly say how disappointed we are with not only their lack in honoring delivery times but their disappointing customer service. I will never order from The Brick again. This review will not get the necessary attention it needs from those responsible for me writing this in the first place however I am hoping it will make my friends and family think twice before making the same mistake we did. Went back to order six end tables and the lady could not understand that I wrote what I wanted on paper. She was unreal and only could understand if it was on a computer. What type of sales clerks do the Brick hire.? Received my order except 1 base was missing. Sent a number of Emails to the store and no response back. Received an Email after a month so called them back. Oh.! It will be in the store on Feb. 12. Did not get a call.? I called them at 5.28 pm and a lady asked my name and I told her 2 times. However, upon delivery of the mattress the two men delivering were absolutely terrible. When they arrived I went and met them at the truck to help them bring things inside. They were suppose to deliver but also set-up. Instead they said they were really busy and insisted I could set it up myself easily. Before I had time to respond one of the two was already headed out to the truck. The other flipped over the box and the frame and said you'll have no problems with it. After they left I realized I had paid $75 for delivery and set up and yet I had only received half the service. After spending $1500 on a single purchase at their store I expected more from this company. There are too many competitors out there to put up with service like this. This place doesn't even deserve a star. My wife and I purchased a fridge and stove from this location when it was delivered it was damaged. The top corners were broken. The fridge had a recall which resulted in my kitchen flooding. The kick plate was lost before delivery. When the repair man came to fix it after a week he broke my water line in which I had to replace. I have been waiting for months for my kick plate with no resolve. We have called. Emailed with pictures and drove to this location many times being very civil. After I called today they try telling me they could not contact us and shredded the file. Total B.S . We have been trying to resolve this for months going all the way to the store manager with promises of satisfaction. We have spent thousands in this store and as loyal customers this is how we are treated. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Terrible service. Leons should part from this store. We went to the brick to get a couch on store credit. The associate that helped us was a middle age blonde woman who didnt even give us her name, she gave us no time to browse whatsoever. She began the application process immediately. She told me my ID didnt look like me, wrote in wrong information about our monthly rent and insisted in putting that in. We felt like she was looking down on us because we are a young couple. We got denied because she entered false information and then gave us a look like " you can leave now sorry about your luck". We went to leons afterwards and had a very successful experience and the associate was also very friendly. We will not be returning to the brick from now on. read more

I purchased furntiure - a sofa and loveseat- from The Brick in Niagara Falls Ontario but all stores sell the same furniture. I purchase a sofa and loveseat mid December 2015. Upon delivery I returned the loveseat as the back cushions were limp and wrinkled - I checked inside and to my surprise it was not filled with solid foam but one small back of polyester stuffing.....no where near enough to fill the cushions. I purchased the Ken-Linen-Look Fabic Sofa - which looked okay in the store but the sales manager was heavy handed trying to talk me into the extended warranty. I mean he was really pushing....that should have been my first tip off. I declined and I jokingly commented if the product was of good quality I wouldn't need a warranty! Well this furniture is JUNK.... after a month of use by one person only the cushions were flat, soft and misshapen on the seat area and the back cushions are rippled because they too do not have enough filling.......I never even thought to check in the store what filled the cushions...I assumed it was foam....I have never seen anything else in cushions. I bought the loveseat too. Double whamey!!! JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE RUNS INTO THIS MESS....I DON'T KNOW IF THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER POOR QUALITY......I'M THINKING NOT AS THE FURNITURE IS NOT DAMAGED ITS JUST HORRIBLE LOOKING. I took my 89 yr. old legally blind father here to buy a dining room suite for his new apartment at a retirement home. The sales person was helpful and we picked out a suite. She suggested we wait for a week to buy to take advantage of an invitation only sale. We agreed and returned a week later to buy. The second sales person was ALSO aware that my father was blind, the sale was completed and we were told it would be available on the 6th. It wasn't but we were happy to wait. It was finally delivered on the 3rd of the following month, and when I spoke to my father I discovered that not only was it delivered unpacked, it wasn't assembled!!!!! No one mentioned that this furniture would need assembly! It was obviously not suitable for an elderly blind customer! When I called to complain I was told that there was small print at the bottom of the sales receipt (which of course was given to my father) that mentioned that the customer would need to assemble it. I thought this was a furniture store - if I had wanted to look at cheap ready to assemble stuff I would have taken him to Walmart.
