The store is filled with so many items it is hard to browse. The staff also follows you around which makes it quite disconcerting and unpleasant to pause and think about how each piece of furniture or appliance will look in your place. Maybe it is month end and they are trying to hit their target? Avoid this place unless you already know what you want and can tell the staff exactly what you are looking for. As Canadians seek to support Canadian companies, we should be able to expect reasonable quality and service In return. I purchased a leather recliner set in February 2020. Over time, the dye in the leather began to wear off and a few places began to peel. The Brick rep just made it clear that there would be no warranty, no explanation of how leather finish would peel and no advice on how to repair it. This is very poor showing for a Canadian company. We can do better than this. read more

Sales person lied about being able to return a purchase. i Asked specifically after purchasing the sound bar to the sales person and he reassured me that I could return the item. When I went back, the sales person said it was final sales. The manager was nothelpful either and did not even listen to me explanation. She was more interested in the sale than customer service. The Brick in Coquitlam is not very customer centred store and the sales staff will do anything for a sale. Never shop there unless you want to be lied to. read more

The bricks whoever own or manage it think the costumer like me who just want to treat my child a new bed. She was very excited. My husband and I went to this store today. We were looking for a firm mattress and tried 3 beds, on the 3rd one I told the sales agent, it still feels soft and hoping he would be helpful in finding out what i need instead, he replied, "if this is still too soft, then the floor is the best option for you" Don't ever waste your time and come here to be insulted by this person We were at Leon's before coming to this store and this was not how we were treated. Here is my experience at Brick for buying a mattress! I have picked an item because the sales person insisted on the quality of one particular item. I came home and the mattress turned out awful. It was getting overheated at nights and every night I felt like sinking into the mattress! So at this point I was thinking like the mattress companies themselves, if you buy from brick and return the item in the designated time, you can refund your money fully, but this is not the case at Brick! YOU CAN ONLY RESELECT ANOTHER PRODUCT AND IF ITS LESS PRICED THAN THE PREVIOUS ITEM, DOES NOT MATTER! They will not return any money back... so the question is why shopping from Brick? And no need to mention I paid 100 shipping fee twice! read more

Service is horrible, selection is not bad, value in items for sale is not so good. True that you can find lower prices but the quality of materials used and workmanship is not good. The advertisement I saw recently claiming that THE BRICKs quality of service and the care and professionalism of their delivery drivers is so UNTRUE! From the staff, to the sales rep to the floor managers to the head office....they ALL SUCK. They're so unprofessional, uncaring, not honest and does not value their customers at all. When you shop at Brick, your dream of experiencing an enjoyable fruitful shopping experience will turn into a HORRIBLE FRUSTRATING NIGHTMARE that will drag for months. Stay away. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. Delivery service is terrible. Delivery people refused to take off shoes or wear disposable shoe coverings. Tracked dirt all throughout my house. Scraped paint off my wall in stairwell and put a hole in my wall. Filed a complaint and sent in pics of damage and had to follow up constantly. Finally spoke to someone and he was rude. Did not take accountability and because I fixed the damage myself due to waiting so long for a response, they would not reimburse me for the supplies to fix the damage. Terrible company! Please do not waste your time and consider somewhere else to get your furniture. Brick is a big scam and trains their staff to scam people. 1st sectional: bought in Sept 2022 received on Nov 2022 and paid around $2200 including 5 year warranty. The fabric started giving out fluffy grey fibers/threads after 2-3 months and started to get thiner and thiner. They told me that warranty does not cover this since it's not a big deal and i need to just deal with it. Salesrep and the whole company scammed me for not telling me the truth about the quality of this fabric. 2nd sectional for the other home. Placed the order end of September paid again around same amount with warranty. Salesrep offered a couple of colors to me and apparently the one i picked was not available for pick up and they advised me to wait 1.5 month which I agreed. No communication/no calls until i called to follow up on status and i was advised that its delayed even more and now it will be beginning of Dec. Again no communication until I called twice more and it was delayed more and more from end of Dec to January. One of the staff told me "either wait or cancel" Nice customer service! I placed an order for similar type of sectional and similar color and similar price from their competition and got my sectional with FREE delivery 2 weeks later. I'm not one to typically write reviews or especially make it public but I feel the need to share after our experience this year with The Brick here in BC. My husband and I purchased 5 Fridgidaire Gallery matching kitchen appliances back in August of last year for our new kitchen. Due to supply chain challenges, we didn't receive them until February, which we had to continue to follow up to find out when they'd arrive. Our fridge and dishwasher began having issues and our fridge completely stopped working at the beginning of July. Just in time for us to welcome our first baby. Continuous email disconnect, poor communication, zero compassion, not to mention the thousands of dollars in frozen food thrown out, and premade meals gone prior to us having a baby and the ridiculous amount of take out we've had to purchase. All of this is one thing, but the concerning thing for us is the ounces and ounces of breast milk spoiled for our baby due to no cold/frozen storage and we still have no resolution thus far? At this rate I am losing faith in this company which is unfortunate and wish some compassion and empathy were provided to us considering the circumstances of our exclusively breastfed child. Coming from someone in senior leadership, I can tell you the thousands of dollars we spent and our future business is not appreciated here and there is no leadership taking our situation seriously. If I could give this - stars I would. read more

I bought a chest of drawers and a tv stand from the Brick . The sales consultant " forgot" to give me the invoices to track the delivery and also forgot to tell me that the tv stand will not be assembled. I went twice back to the shop to get the invoices and find about assemble service. The delivery was when they can not when the client is home. More stress ant time to change the delivery when i have time. The assemble price could be 178 cad. Shame on you Brick for this rip off price. The only star I gave is for the products that I am happy with, but I will never recommend or buy from the Brick. read more

Had I checked on the brick reviews, I would never had entered the store. I had the worst experience buying a love seat for our office. I have been looking for weeks for a blue couch that would fit the collaboration corner of our office and finally found one at The Brick Surrey branch. Met this seemingly helpful saleman by the name of V. I ordered a few other things and the blue couch. The day came when all my orders were delivered...only to find out that the couch was not blue. I called in the store to complain and talked to the store manager who arranged the date and time for the exchange. There were a couple of back and forth calls arranging for the right schedules until it was pinned down for Friday. I get a call this morning and lo and behold...she tells me that there is no available Blue color. After all the calls...and the scheduling..she tells me this only today. What kind of service is this? In the first place, V, the salesman, should have double checked from the very beginning when he knew I was particularly interested on the blue color. Yes,I was given a credit for their error...but they cannot change the mess they did in the furnishings that we have planned for our office. I will not dare enter The Brick anymore! I hope anyone who plans to buy anything there will give himself a SECOND THOUGHT...or be EXTRA CAUTIOUS when pruchasing anything from any of its sales people. read more

Had no problem with selection and the in store saleswoman processing our purchase was helpful, but upon completing our paperwork, just prior to payment, she launched into a high pressure sales pitch for a donation to the Children's Miracle Network/Alberta children's Hospital. She began tearing up, saying she hoped she would not cry and then went on to explain how the cause was personally very near and dear to her heart due to a grandchild recently requiring care. It was just gross and so awkward. We politely but firmly declined, but she was clearly disappointed and told of another personal story of a child she knew who was in care at the ACH. She really did not want to take no for an answer, but we continued to hold our ground, even feeling the need to offer ideological reasons for why we did not want to donate. It made for a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience. I think it's fine if the Brick wants to donate a portion of sales to whatever charity they want but it's wrong to demand donations from paying customers. read more

The contractor who delivered the sofa we ordered was horrendous! They were VERY rude and obnoxious (especially the older one). We tried our best to clear away the obstructions in our home but it turned out it was still a bit tight. For one, we have had bigger sofa deliveries before but the delivering teams were able to bring them in without difficulty. So I wonder why it was such an issue with these delivery people. Far more importantly however, they could have been nicer in attitude. But they were very obnoxious and were ordering my wife around like she was their servant. They also carelessly scraped the sofa through the doors without any care at all, forcing it in, and just dismissively told her to wash off the scratches. No customer, especially a well-meaning one like us, should be treated this way! Oh yes, they also refused to take off their shoes or wear protective covers on their shoes. Is this the kind of customer service The Brick would want for their delivery contractor? To all future customers, take heed! read more

The Brick lougheed highway - Coquitlam Never ever go there to shop, unless you want to be insulted or hurt. I purchased a mattress and protector and only 6 hours after delivery I went to complain that the protector doesn't fit the mattress with picture to proof our claim, yet general sale manager Anu Thankur that there is no return policy. We showed her the picture and she said that we need to try it on floor model to see if the item is faulty. It fitted the floor model. Yet we wanted refund for that item as it was tried on floor model with thousands of people's germs. Where Anu said she will not refund and we had the option to not to test it on floor model Not forget that she said we have to test it to make sure if the item is faulty. The discussion went on to the point that Anu insulted me by saying that I do not know how to properly put a sheet on mattress. And my response was I rather purchase a kind of protector that I am well educated how to put on. As if it's rocket science My sale advisor suggested that the mattress looks faulty and protector should be ok as it also fitted floor model nicely. Mattress itself looked folded and not in the good shape and delivered with no tags or any indication of being new except for plastic wrap around it. I wrote this to warn you people to avoid this branch As General Sales Manager (Anu) did insult me in many ways. Including threatening me if I am recording our conversation & that I don't know how to put sheet in mattress & trying my mattress protector on floor model and expecting me to take it back & raising her voice and shouting at me in front of my toddlers. read more

Sales folks take advantage of seniors! Customer service will blame you for their lies. My parents were bamboozled out of $800 by a sales person almost 5 years ago that guaranteed them they can add a warranty to their purchase and if they don't use that money in the next 5 years, they can use the funds for a difference purchase instead. Fast forward 4.5 years, and they are told the purchase they made was a couple months before this deal went into effect and they are out of luck. The customer service there even told my parents that they can't know for sure if what my parents are saying is actually true because this was almost 5 years ago. Flat out calling them liars when in fact it was the sales person that lied to get a larger sale/commission. read more

I am dealing with The Brick at South Surrey location. I got Insurance with them since they use KinandState.com I have been dealing with them for one month and a half. Each time I contact the insurance company or the Brick, they always have an excuse why they are not able to come. I feel that they are making these excuses in purpose. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM. I WILL EVEN RECOMMEND NOT TO BUT APPLIANCES FROM THEM. I submitted my claim around July 7. A week later the technician came to look at it. He told me that he will submit the information, however, he told me that he not longer will be providing service for the Brick. One or two weeks later, I call the insurance, a lady told me that they ordered the parts and that the technician will contact me. I been calling back and for. To make it shorter, last Wednesday, a rep from Kingandstate contacted, as well as the manager from the Brick. They told me that the technician will give me a call in the next 72 hours, and the same lady told me that she will follow up Saturday. Up to today neither the technician, nor the Kingandstate contacted me. I called today asking to talk to a Manager. They told me that there is not manager available. read more

They don't stand by the products they sell. Bought a fridge that would freeze all off our meats and produce. Tried tinkering with all the temp settings and shelf placements, but nothing worked. Contacted The Brick and they refused to help us. Claimed it was policy that we had to go through the manufacturer, who kept pushing things forward, parts don't arrive, having to call them multiple times. There is no point trying to call the brick customer service, because there really isn't any. In the meantime we are completely disastified and would like a store credit to purchase something different. We have lost hundred of dollars in spoiled food. I will never purchase from The Brick again. Really happy with the service offered during my mattress purchase today. We were greeted quickly after entering by salesperson Mary who promptly and graciously offered to assist us and directed us to the proper store area for mattresses. She was attentive and helpful during our interaction, focused on showing us mattresses that suited my needs and was conscious of the cost limits I inferred. I asked to swap additional items (pillows for bed cover) and Mary spoke to the mgmt at the store (thank you Mgr.) and they included all the items with an additional bed sheet. The team had my new mattresses and accessories ready and loaded on our truck in 30 minutes.
