Sima was wonderful! This was my 3rd baby. I had never used an in-home lactation consultant before…read moreand wish I would have with all three children. Sima was warm, friendly, and professional. She immediately let me know the things I was doing right. She also helped me with some issues I was having with my newborn including: --Newborn being up all night and sleeping during the day. Her tips helped the baby move into a daytime routine. --Incorporated my husband by teaching him to use an eye dropper and ensuring to feed the newborn only when she is sucking. This allowed me some MUCH needed extra sleep. I no longer feel like I'm in this alone. --Newborn wanted to feed for over an hour. The newborn still cluster feeds; however, her advise helped me recognize when the baby was actually hungry vs. comforting herself. This aided significantly in cutting down the amount of time she is up at night --Nipple discomfort and soreness. I have cracked and bleeding nipples. She gave me recommendations on how I can promote healing and lower pain. She also has a nipple cream in her arsenal that helps with recovery. --Newborn biting. She gave me tips on how to educate the baby not to bite during breastfeeding Overall, having Sima come to my house was a positive change for myself and the rest of my family. It took only a couple of days using her advice to feel more like myself instead of an exhausted, inpatient, and sore Mom. Granted, the newborn is only 1 week old. I don't expect her to sleep through the night; however, Sima helped in getting me 3-4 hour blocks of sleep instead of an hour here and there. It's life changing. Sima is absolutely wonderful. I will recommend her to everyone I know having any type of issue with breastfeeding.

I worked with Sima at A Mothers Touch and had a great experience! Her support and recommendations…read morehelped my son and I get back on track with breastfeeding. She was incredibly gentle with both mom and baby, was not judgmental and made small tweaks instead of major changes that would be hard to implement. Sima is easy to get in touch with through phone or text and her personal follow ups after the session let you know she really cares about her clients. I am a second time mom and originally thought we wouldn't need a Lactation consultant again but every baby is different and I'm so glad we got in touch with Sima.

I have to agree that this is a ROCKIN alternative medicine store…read more They not only carry nearly everything you could want or need for natural healing, but they are also very informed and helpful. Great Essential oil selection. You can buy it by the bottle or by the drop. (a little goes a long way) Lots of homeopathics. LOTS! They had tons of supplies for midwives and doulas. Plenty of kids stuff too. I'm so glad I found this little gem. BTW...It's tucked in DEEP off the road. I passed it twice but they talked me in on the phone.

I took a class with one of the owners, Beth, when I was pregnant. When I visited her store, I was…read moreamazed at the selection they have for natural parenting. They have breast pumps and comfortable breastfeeding bras, holistic supplies, and books. They also offer classes such as Vegetarian and Pregnant, Baby Sign Language, Infant Massage, Vaginal Birth After Cesaerian, and many more. They are very supportive of mothers who will homebirth or who have homebirthed babies. I feel it is important to say this because I think sometimes there is a stigma attached to women who choose natural childbirth at home. I especially love their breastfeeding room where they have a breastfeeding group that meets regularly. Everyone who works there is incredibly helpful, especially Beth. I was concerned about post partum depression, and she took me aside and helped me with finding resources. She spent a lot of time one on one with me so I could talk about my concerns. One cool thing is that Beth helped formulate a holistic remedy just for me. It helps calm me if I am feeling panicky. Whether it is a placebo or not, all I know is that it works!
