Where do I start at this place?
I came here when I was very young, so I had no idea of the process of getting braces or ethical business practices. My parents do not know how things work, and thinking back, I think this place was not very informative towards my parents due to them being limited in English and providing us with English videos on how it worked. There was a worker who spoke mandarin, but how far can a single front desk worker inform you when you have many questions. It is not her fault at all.
Dr Gurza definitely had a very condescending attitude, similar to talking to a 4 year while you are annoyed. Being a customer here, I expect to be respected, and that is not a very big expectation. I have no grudge against him, just disappointment from his services.
My teeth were very messed up prior getting braces, but it took only two years for the braces to come off. This was very peculiar since most of my friends had braces for a very long time with teeth that are not as misaligned as mine. I remembered that my teeth were not aligned right after taking the braces off, with the bottom teeth being shifted more to the left. Dr Gurza assured me that this was normal, and nothing will come from this. Nothings better when spending thousands of dollars to get your teeth straight!
Now it's been quite a while since I had the braces. However, on the same year that I removed the braces, my jaw has become asymmetrical due to my teeth not being aligned and it has caused more problems. If my jaw was misaligned and asymmetrical in the beginning, braces should've solved some issues with it, but many people did not see my jaw being crooked. I think Dr Gurza rushed my treatment and did not care for it due to the lack of results and quick treatment time that are 1/2 of my peers.
The thing that enraged me the most was the blatant scamming this place has. The day I received my retainer I asked what to do if it breaks. They said they will repair it free of cost, emphasized. Which I remember since I confirmed it over and over again. The day my retainer breaks, it is a 50 dollar appointment fee. It's the same as a free item with a 50 dollar shipping fee and they're selling it right next door. Not to mention that they sell the same retainer cleaning pill for around the 40-100 dollar range, when you can buy the same thing for a couple of dollars in your nearest convenience store (did not buy it).
Overall, this place is not reliable, the service is good if you're not interacting with the orthodontist (impossible), and over priced merchandises. I had a horrible experience here and I regret ever coming here. read more
