Old shipping containers become useful again in a whole new way at The Boxyard. Arranged in a U shape with two levels you can find all you need for a good time. Murals on the boxes are great selfie taking backgrounds, indoor and outdoor seating is available to enjoy 2 different restaurants, candy and ice cream from Boxyard venders. There is also a liquor store, convenience store, barber, skate shop, soap and clothing store from what we were able to check out. It's a small but funky, indy and trendy little spot that would be perfect for a date or night out with friends. I'll review the 2 shops we were able to check out separately but this place as a whole is pretty awesome. read more

My husband and I came in for a quick snack and some drinks. The bartender was friendly and their fried pickles were amazing! Freshly cut and fried and not too salty! The only reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because the tables were still dirty and I had to wipe it down myself. But I am sure they will work on that! Although there are still some empty containers, this has the potential of being GREAT! Even on a cold and dreary Saturday, there was a lot going on. Lots of people were checking it out. There was a photo shoot on the top decks, and it looked like some promotional videos were being shot in some of the stores. A very eclectic mix. I would consider Dwelling Space the "anchor" store but there are lots of cute shops. STEM is very interesting as well as Bottle Beads. Can't wait for what looks like a bar upstairs to open. Will be a great hangout this summer. The view of downtown is pretty great too. Awesome location and there's a lot or room for growth and development in this area. read more

Located in downtown Tulsa this roof top bar has great views of the city. The music was hip and happening but the crowd there was not rowdy or too young. People over 25 understand exactly what I mean when I say too young! I got vodka and pineapple for $5, & was able to take in views of the city and reflect on my thoughts while still being in a fun environment with friends. This bar will definitely be one of my go to's when I am in Tulsa Because it fits the way my tastes have evolved over time. read more

This place has an awesome Indy / quirky feel. Every shop / restaurant is out of a box yard shipping container. I've never seen a place like this and definitely wasn't expecting to see it in Oklahoma. I spent my evening at the bar upstairs and enjoyed really good cocktails and cheap well drinks. I highly recommend the French Rosé cocktail. read more

An eclectic collection of shops, cafés, bars and an ice cream parlor. This place is very interesting as the shape of the complex looks like shipping containers. Some of the shops are pretty pricey -- so be prepared to spend some cash. But it's sort of to be expected as some carry locally made products like art, soaps and clothing. My first time at The Boxyard was such a huge success! I went to their Mardi Gras Pre-Parade Party and it was an absolute blast! Beads were handed out, there was live music and then the band led the way to the parade. The space itself is an amazing and unique shopping and entertainment addition to downtown at the corner of 3rd street and Frankfort avenue. I was surprised at the actual size of it. From the outside it doesn't look that big but it is actually made out of 39 repurposed shipping containers. It has a great mix and variety of businesses too! These are the ones that are open so far: 1. East + West Tulsa: menswear store 2. Landella: handmade jewelry 3. Sole Massage: seated massages 4. Blue Sky Bank: personal & commercial banking 5. Dwellling Spaces & JoeBot's Coffee: gift shop and coffee 6. Beau & Arrow: trendy clothing store 7. The Sweet Boutique: treats and snacks 8. Tonsorial: barbershop 9. The STEMcell: science store 10. Modern Mess: women boutique 11. Bottles Beads Antiquities: antiques & collectibles 12. Rose Rock Microcreamery: 100% natural ice cream! The first one ever in OK! 13. OPEN Container: bar on east deck 14. The Water Co: purified water systems 15. Abelina's Boutique: chic & trendy boutique 16. Downtown Dry Cleaners: drop off & pick up site! I didn't get a chance to visit all of them because they each have different business hours. There are still a couple of businesses opening soon: Nova Comics & WirWar (restaurant/bar). Boxyard I love you! I want you in OKC in such a big way. I love your cute branding, your fun atmosphere (especially on a 70-degree February Saturday). The restaurants bring a variety of people so you get folks of all walks of life, and the variety of shops is a fun mix. I think my favorite store in here was the little science store. So cute!! But I loved that there was affordable fashion (Modern Mess) and fun gifts, compliments of Tulsa's decade-old darling Dwelling Spaces. We also did 30-minute chair massages at Sole Massage and it was awesome. It's cool to see what can be done with 350 square feet, and I think this should be an encouragement to anyone who has been interested in opening a little shop - you don't need a ton of room, just a cool area with an interesting mix of tenants. read more

This area is going to be amazing! Most of the spaces are already rented. Lots of great boutiques, and a bar to wet your whistle. Dog-friendly, which I love. The bartenders are friendly and offer great conversation. There's a platform for a stage, so I'm definitely looking forward to outdoor music and mixed drinks. The ice cream shop and the coffee shop both have lots of tasty options, and there's a dry cleaner and a bank. Worth checking it out, ASAP! Especially if it's a nice day! read more

Using shipping containers as housing and shopping is a fad that has started to take the nation by storm. Ok, I might be over exaggerating a bit, but it is definitely a progressive idea and I am very excited to see it here in Tulsa. As of now there are a couple of shops open including: a cafe, dry cleaners, foot massage, and little odds and ends stores. It has two levels with stairs and an elevator, heated bathrooms, and a water fountain/bottle filler. Very neat and exciting, can't wait to see what other stores goes in. read more

Made from a conglomerate of shipping containers, the Boxyard is a super fun concept in the downtown area. Super easy walking distance from the Hotel Indigo which was a big bonus. It was really dirty, all three times I was there. The homeless were every where asking for money. It is also very pricey. My date pointed out several used needles right in the middle of the place. This place is not in a good part of town. BEWARE. read more

A fun place to spend an afternoon shopping and hanging out! I really like Dwelling Spaces new space. Fun Tulsa merchandise with the bonus of the coffee bar. Looking through the various shops is fun with friends. All the shops have something special about them that sets them apart from others. I think the Stem Cell may be the coolest! Stood in line for 4 hours for solar eclipse glasses from a Store located in the Boxyard. Wasn't expecting to be in line that long. My friend was getting a bit of heat exhaustion. This man comes out and puts bottles of water on the sidewalk for everyone! Then he comes back later to pick up the trash. Turns out he's the owner of the Boxyard. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely be back when the weather is cooler. read more

We attended the grand opening and are super impressed! The boutiques are fairly priced, which was surprising. We spoke to a few shops that will soon be opening, such as beer, wine, cocktail and snacks, which will be the perfect addition to the area. Super neat and unique idea, using cargo containers as stores was a neat way of cramming different small stores into a small area. Didn't take up much space but the stores kept quality over quantity in mind. There's an upstairs restaurant, eco friendly store, chemistry store, chocolate, female boutiques, pretty decent all around place for a quick stop. read more

This place is fun, quirky and just the kind of places of interest that Tulsa needs. As I walked through the courtyard area and into the different shops I couldn't help but think this place had a European feel to it. Sure enough in speaking to one of the store owners, she said the the developers inspiration came from London. There are a couple boutique clothing shops for women (and noticed one for men!) that I will definitely be back to frequent. They both stated they get new items in weekly. Dwelling Spaces is here, always a good place for Oklahoma swag for the out of towners. Several people raved about the ice cream on second level, note to self to try next time. Science shop, water store ( I wasn't brave enough to walk and see what that's about) science store, antiquey type place..a lot of variety packed into these shipping containers. The Boxyard is a fun and trendy little shopping center in the Blue Dome District. Also, Open Container (on the 2nd floor) has water bowls for dogs if you happen to be walking your pet out in the hot, summer sun. Also, as someone else mentioned, each individual vendor's space is limited, so it gets kinda crowded pretty easily. It *is* a little spendy, but has some lovely things that may be difficult to find elsewhere in Tulsa. read more

After growing up in Tulsa and moving to Austin, I absolutely love coming back to see all of its growth. I visited The Boxyard on my most recent trip and was absolutely delighted. At a glance, this could seem a bit gimmicky, but it's not. There is a good variety of different stores and most of them I would come back to again. We grabbed a drink at the rooftop bar and had a gorgeous view overlooking downtown. What a great addition to the city! read more
