Great selection of popular books and classics! A good mix of genres for everyone to browse. They even have a large kids section! As the only indie bookstore in St. George, I wish that had a few more branded stickers or merch to really amp up the experience. Workers were very kind and let you browse without interruptions. A cozy space that isn't busy like big box stores with many recognizable titles. read more

I love a good bookstore and this one is so cozy! I caught sight of it while at the park and had to pop in. It's housed in a historical building, a former home, cozy with seating and a fireplace and plenty of built in shelving. I really liked the variety here and browsed the cooking, fiction, and memoirs sections for books I'd been meaning to read. Staff provide a friendly greeting upon entry but otherwise you're free to look around without being constantly checked on. Wish we had more time to curl up on their porch and read our finds! TIP: Check their calendar for in-store events like book readings, author visits, and signings. read more

Really great local book store!! They have a great selection! They had the book we came for and we got 2 additional books for Christmas presents signed by the author who just happened to be there that night for a book signing! The owners were so friendly and helpful. The interior of their store was soooo amazing! It had an old rustic feeling to it and just felt very homey. From the Business

Specialties

We're the only indie bookstore in Southern Utah selling all new books (plus puzzles, games, puppets and toys) and offering a full slate of author events, book clubs, poetry nights, writing groups and workshops, and story time for kids. Stocked with over 6,000 books, the Bungalow offers a carefully curated collection of literary fiction, classics, women's fiction, science fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, suspense, thrillers, historical fiction, and fiction for children and young adults, including graphic novels. There's even a touch of horror, as well as a special section for international fiction (translated into English, of course). And that's just the fiction.

History

Established in 2018.

We opened our doors to the public on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

Meet the Business Owner: Tanya M.

I'm an award-winning author who wanted an indie bookstore with a full slate of events for this part of Southern Utah...and a way to provide my son, who has Asperger's, with full time employment and a possible career. (Yes, indie bookstores are thriving again, and if you do it right, a bookstore can succeed and grow.) We want to become the literary soul of a community filled with art, music, film and theater...but not enough literature.

We usually come thru St George 3-4 times a year and it's nice to see something fun and new. We specifically went for the Manga section, which is vast compared to other book shops. Maybe that it's relatively new status, with an April 2018 ribbon-cutting. I'm a post card collector, so I'll start there: A excellent, well-organized, and high-quality selection, especially for U.S. places. Usually a disorganized afterthought, it's great to see well-kept and beautiful post cards. IMHO, Antiques, Etc.'s greatest selling point is its wood furniture: Tall-boys, dropleaf tables, desks, chairs, buffets, China cabinets... to name a few. Is there an overall theme to the stuff? I'd say it has a very Midwestern, early 1900s vibe. It's easy to tell this is a well-curated collection. I do have a small recommend: Simplify the discounts by putting the percentage off right on the tag. The place is a little random in nature, but it's fun to find random stuff like quilting materials and patterns, tobacco canisters, a Band Director's uniform, and my personal fave, the 1940s GE L-916 floor console radio. Co-owner Mick is very friendly and easy to work with. He's been in the antique business for 30 years, and is a welcome addition the St. George antique community!
