I saw Missy back in 2020 when she helped treat my unbearable sciatica pain. She provided a thorough assessment, gave me a "toolbox" of safe stretches and exercises that I could utilize during a flare-up, and taught me how to prevent future flare ups with strengthening exercises. I have severe sciatic pain and I work a lot while managing a yoga studio and teaching so I never really get the chance to fully relax and recover. I know what poses to do but I needed something else to help my body recover. Missy intuitively knew the exact spots where I needed work in my body, and my hamstrings and glutes felt so much relief afterwards. The mobilizations she did were great too. Hi there Yelpers. I was thrilled to learn about Missy's city host trip with air bnb: https://www.airbnb.com/city-hosts (website is temporarily "waitlist only" as of writing this review). I was able to attend 2/3 of the trip, as I got invited last minute and had a prior engagement towards the end. We started off Friday night with an awesome dinner at Cafe Gratitude in Venice. If you're not familiar with CG, they offer amazing gourmet Vegan food in a wide variety of flavors. Missy incorporated the restaurant's features into Saturday morning's yoga class: she asked us to remember the name of the entree we'd ordered, which were affirmations like "lovely" or "giving". These mixed with an electrical "I am" Mantra were the perfect follow up to the last night's dinner and a great start to the day. The yoga class itself took place at Full Circle, a landmark in Venice. The new friends I made at dinner and morning yoga were lucky enough to take a third and final part of the trip, a specialty stretching class at one secret location :) The whole trip was over too fast and left a lasting therapeutic effect. I am grateful and highly recommend this to anyone visiting LA! ... I may seek out Missy to help with my handstands, too - her physical abilities and coaching abilities are impressive. read more

I've done yoga classes several times but I don't consider myself a "yoga" person. There's a highly reputed yoga studio with very experienced teachers just one block away from my apartment. But to be honest, I hardly go to classes because I don't enjoy them. I don't feel connected with the class or the teacher. Plus 60 - 90 minutes is so precious in my busy schedule, that I don't have time to attend yoga classes regularly. Therefore I tend to prefer other methods of self-care... and the only way I stay motivated in my yoga practice is to find a good yoga teacher. I have spent a long time looking for one. A lot of people practice and "teach yoga," but they don't demonstrate the gift of understanding and healing with a profound appreciation and knowledge of the long history and tradition of yoga. I have been following Missy's journey for a while. So while visiting on a trip from San Francisco to LA, I wanted to stop by her Sanctuary (which is what she calls her small, boho-chic studio). I easily made an appointment with her online and decided to bring my partner to the session, who is stressed from his career and always complains about feeling stiff like a robot. I've tried to encourage him to practice yoga many times, especially when we are on vacation. Missy intuitively understood me and my partner's needs and accommodated both effortlessly. She reads us very well and we felt like she genuinely wanted to help her students out. Under her guidance, we really did get to take the needed time for ourselves and our health. Her whole yoga practice is focused on therapy and on connecting with yourself. I love that she focuses on therapy and the mind-body connection. It felt great come back to myself with the breathing and meditation technique she did with us. I've been telling my girlfriends how amazing just a short session was. We felt lighter even in just one session and our mood was elevated the rest of the day. In addition my partner felt like he could release some of the deep stress he's been carrying from his work for a long time. It's such a healing feeling... Missy is a true healer and expert in her field of yoga therapy. A lot of people need the therapy of what Missy is doing - whether they are single, a couple, or at any age. Wow!.. this lovely lady is a hidden jewel in LA's yoga community. I have to say Missy is top notch 5 star all the way. I can only tell you that she is both professional and intuitive. Missy is an awesome yoga instructor! I am 8 months pregnant and have been suffering with some aches and pains in my hips. I have been to group prenatal classes and done some stretching on my own, but I definitely appreciated the professional help. Missy was honest that she had never had a prenatal yoga client before, but she did lots of research to prepare for our session (which was impressive and much appreciated!).
