I took off a star for the billing mistakes we found after, instead of the two course kids meal which was clearly on the menu, they billed the items separately, didn't offer the kids drink and charged an additional £2.50 for our 1 year olds birthday ice cream scoop! Where is the menu of fried foods where the dishes only distinguish themselves by being different shades of brown? Where are the quintuple IPAs that get you schnockered after three sips and taste like you're sucking on a rag soaked with turpentine? Like I said, confusing. Turth is, Cross Keys is a proper English pub where you can sit for hours with your friends (sorry - mates) and wax philisophical about the validity of an artificial rating system you've created. The service is sometimes surly and you'll probably be the youngest person there, but that shouldn't stop you. Bring a friend, grab a pint, and debate wisely... because last call is 11:30.
