As well as acting as a gathering point for Oxford cyclists, and a distributor of information on safe cycling, they provide a membership scheme. For an annual fee of £9 (£6 for the unwaged), you get free workshop access and support, a dividend card which allows you to collect point on all items in stock which build towards discounts, discounted Introduction to Cycle Maintenance Courses, one-on-one training, access to further courses such as wheel building, and a monthly e-mail newsletter. This is a great shop that has loads of stock, is easy to walk around and the people there are really helpful. They cater for all with kids bikes up to the top of the range racing machines. There is a well stocked clothing section upstairs. The mechanics are very capable and you should feel at ease leaving you loved two wheeled baby with them. Just remember to confirm that all repairs have been completed before you set off for the pick up. Parking at the weekend can be a bit tight as the shop is next to a tyre shop, but don't let that put you off.

Those really are worth going to to check out as they have a lot of stuff in boxes on the ground floor that you can just rummage and find a bargain. Plus, although I'm not certain how he got it but there's also a 10% loyalty card (not off sale prices though). I don't think it's given out to everyone though, I think my husband goes there so often they started recognising him and just gave it to him!

Bought a bike (Saracen tt comp tufftrax) amongst other things from here and lasted a while…read moreconsidering how I ride it haha poor bike went through hell and back with me. It was originally £320 but it was reduced to £180. Went down devils dungeon with it, it survived took it to cornwall, survived and than I managed to kill it on a kirb. Took it to the shop as I'd snapped the derailier (I did this 3 times) they fixed that and without telling me fixed a couple of other things as well so that costed me £70 odd pound. But the next two times only cost me £15 for the hangar But after that never had a problem with them. When I moved to Wiltshire had to find a new bike shop :( now have a trek and it's still going strong... Just Overall a bloody good shop recommended!

I am not an athlete or fitness guru, however the customer service was friendly and professional. The staff at Alpha Sports are very knowledgeable about biomechanics which I learnt was important when purchasing running trainers. I got to stand on a special heat sensitive board which helped select the correct type of trainers for my needs by considering my posture and how the weight was distributed by my feet. I then got to try on differing makes until I found the right pair for me. Alpha Sports also offer gait analysis for more serious runners. I would definitely recommend Alpha Sports if you want to find a pair of trainers that are tailored to your needs. The staff have a lot of knowledge and are happy to answer your questions plus give you the time you need to find your best pair of trainers so you don't feel rushed.
