Chicken Avocado Truffle Fries

Food was not bad, overall love the truffle fries and enjoyed the chicken avocado sandwich. The service and food delivery timing was BAD! The whole tables main dishes were severed before the appetizer, we had to ask for basic items like silverware and remind them about sauces. The outside of the restaurant looks like it's closed but it's not. It was not busy at all, felt like I was on the show Bar rescue! Surprised there still open

I wish I could like this place. The menu has never caught my fancy...the food all seems overpriced for what it is. They're still under COVID protocol...menus that you scan and run a virtual tab. You have to get your own condiments and soft drinks...but a burger and fries is almost $20. The food runner we had was super personable and the service was expedient on NYE. No one was there aside from a couple other tables. The remodel does look nice...

Stopped in tonight with my youngest daughter's basketball team. There is a QR code at each table that you scan and this is how you order your food & drinks. I think this is pretty slick. The service was fast and the food was good. I had a Nashville hot chicken sandwich with tots and my daughter had a cheese flat bread pizza. We sat in the game area and the kids had a blast playing while the adults were chatting.

The new renovation are gorgeous! And while I am understanding of hiccups that happen during a visit when they have just reopened, I am just not in love with the self-serve concept. I like asking my bartender about the tap beers and wait staff about the menu items. But instead, they have menu and ordering through an app. Servers did a drop and go when they brought drinks and food, leaving us clueless that we were supposed to get our own plates, silverware, napkins etc. and never coming back to check in on how things were. This app ordering probably works great when you are in a group so the staff dont have to go through the hassle of splitting checks but when I go out I enjoy the service as part of my experience. As for the food. We order nacho, onion rings and pizza. Pizza and onion rings were ok but the nachos were a miss with mostly cheese, some meat and were very greasy. One plus to the ordering through the app, you know how much you are spending as the night goes on (no mystery how much a beer or cocktail will cost and you know exactly how much you've had to drink).

Food was great, good portions for the price, service was quick and attentive, cute patio!!! Would absolutely recommend!

My fiancé just brought home takeout for me. I ordered a Nashville hot and the piece of "chicken" was so small you couldn't see the edges when holding up the sandwich. When I went to take a bite the "chicken" was so hard I could not bite through. I then tore it apart and the entire thing was over cooked and mostly breading that was very hard. I ate some of the bun and then threw it in the trash. The pickles were good though. I'm only giving one star because the Brussels sprouts were good.

Came here to use our Brew Pub Beer Pass for a free drink, which ended up being just $5.00 off a pint of any beer of your choice and try out their food. Ordered the garlic parmesean wings, which were just okay. There wasn't much sauce on the wings and the flavor just wasn't there. The blue cheese dressing was very good, full of chunks of cheese and green onion. The ranch was pretty watered down and just lacking in flavor. I ordered the crab Rangoon burger and it was an absolute hit. The cream cheese with garlic and sweet Thai chili sauce... MmmMmm... just order it. You can thank me later! Our waitress was friendly, but lacked attentiveness to us as customers and would rather flirt with the table of 4 marines than bring us silverware and napkins until 10 minutes after our food had been brought to the table. Overall, the experience was okay. Don't know that we will visit again, but it's worth a try if you've never been. Maybe sit at the bar for more prompt service.

We've come to The Beerhouse multiple times before they started their remodel. I love having such an establishment so close to our home, in an area without many sit down restaurants. I'll admit I was getting worried because how long the remodel was taking and was genuinely afraid they just wouldn't reopen or if they did, they would struggle to get business again. Boy was I wrong! They've only been reopened a few weeks (two?) and every time I drive by they are busy! My husband and I decided to give them a try on a Wednesday evening, we pulled in and couldn't believe how full their parking lot was! Luckily their layout and space is bigger than it appears and there were still many open tables for us. The new bar area is much bigger than I remember it being before and the finishes/decor got an upgrade. There are still multiple TVs in the main dinning area and a huge screen in the bar area - making it a perfect place to watch March Madness (or any other sports). They also have a sizable back room that is quieter and I image could be rented or reserved. And don't forget about their sizable outside patio seating. I was surprised but not displeased in their new restaurant format. I haven't been to anything like it but it seemed to work pretty well. Let me explain. When you walk in, you seat yourself which isn't necessarily abnormal. They still have a host booth so I would imagine if they were wall to wall busy someone would be managing the seating and waitlist. Once you pick your spot, there is a small sign on each table that has a QR code and states your table number. Here is the new part, no servers!? So you scan the QR code and it takes you to an ordering site. You browse the menu, place your order (drinks too), and pay all from your phone. They then have food and drink "runners" who bring your order directly to your table. Unique right!? The food was good. We went for their crab rangoon pizza that we've had in the past. Still as delicious and cheesy as last time (just bring a napkin and maybe a wet wipe, sticky!). We also tried their Cajun tots, which to be honest were just like regular tater tots with seasoning. I ordered a pineapple mule which was tasty, but I would of preferred it in a copper mug vs the glass it came in. Overall great experience, love the concept. Love that they have so many options for small or larger groups. Like I said previous, happy to have them back in the neighborhood!

Did not appreciate the ordering process of not being able to even speak to a server about any menu items. We will likely not be back.

How is this place only 3 stars? Prices aren't bad, food is great. Give it a shot! Can't go wrong with the wings and pizza!

The ordering system was a burden. I'm older and really want someone to wait on me. Not used to this method.

It was getting to be dinner time, so asked my wife to meet me here for my last stop. Every time we've stopped here, we have been impressed with the quality of the food and tonight was no different. I had already enjoyed some Happy Hour specials at another venue, but my wife hadn't yet eaten dinner. She ordered the Gyro & Fries (see picture) and as you might guess, I did try a couple of bites. We both thought it was a very good gyro and were delighted to see that it is the daily special each day from 11-2, so we will definitely be coming back for lunch some day. Don't tell him I went without him :) Anyway, I'm glad the wife and I gave it a try. We walked in at 5:30 on a Friday and it was busy. We didn't wait but for a few minutes and had a table. The greeter was very friendly and our server was super nice and pleasant to have as a waiter. His recommendations were spot on. The whole restaurant was hopping busy but operating very smoothly. Not a quiet place, a true sports bar ambiance. The wings were very very good. Maybe some of the better ones I've had here in town. The gyro was fantastic, and huge. Great value. The wife's flatbread was great too. Excellent food all the way around. Prices for very reasonable. Happy hour helps some of the prices for sure, but still a well priced establishment. We are fans of this place and will most certainly be back.

We had a few plates of the loaded nachos with chicken and with beef... They were heaped high and delicious. Plenty on each plate for two or three people. The meat additions are not discounted during happy hour, but even at full price with the half-price nachos it's a bargain. Others in our group got the quesadillas and we shared some deviled eggs. All of them are very tasty. We also got some cheese balls. They were pretty much the standard fair but also very good. Drinks are another great bargain during the happy hour with discounted beer and mixed drinks. All the drinks were very tasty. Our server was Bailey. She was very pleasant, fun, and enthusiastic. The food came out very quickly, and the drinks came off the bar in a very reasonable time as well. There is a large U-shaped bar and plenty of booth and table seating along with that outdoor patio. There is a 4% non-cash adjustment for using your credit card. Definitely a very discounted happy hour, but the food was delicious and I would try it again for happy hour or just for dinner

Our primary reason for stopping back tonight was for 'research and development' for my happyhourdesmoines.com website. This meant a smaller total check, as we only sampled a couple of Happy Hour specials - and they were quite tasty. We shared an order of Chicken Wings (see picture) and I ordered a House Margarita (see picture). The chicken wings were very good and I'll say that I enjoyed the House Margarita as much as the better ones in Mexican restaurants. We choose Tony's combo no olives or shrooms, add onion with the Cup & Char Pepperoni and Graziano Sausage. Cracker this crust and the Bix's pizza sauce. What a fantastic pizza, so delicious and perfect. The service was great and we will be back.

While last time was for dinner with my wife, this trip was to enjoy the Happy Hour specials with a helpful server at the bar. Today I ordered a tap beer that I hadn't yet had from their good selection as well as their daily special of Chips, Queso & Salsa (see picture). This was an extremely good value, as the portion of chips was generous as were the queso and salsa - enabling a good salsa/queso to chips ratio! I thought the chips, queso and salsa all tasted above average, so I left pleased (and full).

This time we got charged a 3% service fee, which I don't remember in past visits. I didn't make a big deal about it this time, but probably won't go back. I try to avoid places that charge service fees, especially ones that aren't told upfront. Our waitress was brand new, we were her first customer ever. She was being trained by someone who was brand new as well. We were very patient with her and she tried her best. The food is average. Cheeseburgers, chicken strips, mac & cheese, the basics. I imagine next time we'll explore somewhere else instead.
