I decided to check out the assortment at this store. I parked fairly close to the entrance. I walked in. It was a hot, humid day. It was one reason why I felt like going into this store. The air-conditioning was highly effective. There were may cases of beer. I wasn't feeling like getting a 24-pack. I like getting craft beer in single cans, to sample them. That section was closer to the exit, before you pay for your items. It was nice seeing Belgian Moon and Stella Artois. I like them a lot. There was a decent selection of local craft beers. Trying to figure out what I wanted was tough. I eventually settled on getting these beers: - Junction hazy IPA - Muskoka Brewery hazed and confused juicy IPA The two men before and after me had a case of beer. Yep, it's definitely the long weekend. The female staffer scanned my items. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and carried my cans to my car. They went into an insulated bag with a chocolate bar. I'm so glad that they were chilled, as they prevented my chocolate bar from melting. I had the Muskoka Brewery hazed and confused beer at home, after I put it into my fridge for it to chill. I enjoyed it. It was juicy, with pineapple, grapefruit, orange peel, and mango flavours. It had a slight bitterness in finish, but was enjoyable. I haven't had the other can yet. The long weekend is still young. I had a terrific experience here. This LCO in the Beaches used to be great, but a recent renovation has ruined it. What used to be a…read moreconvenient Vintages section in the back is now a beer store. The new Vintages section is meaningless, with cheap plonk mixed in with expensive bottles. The national sections are larger but the wines are stacked up to the ceiling and very tightly packed together. I am 5'5" and was afraid the bottles would come crashing down when I stood on tippy-toe while trying to reach the one I wanted. As it happened I grasped a similar-looking bottle and came home with a Pinot Grigio instead of an Orvieto Classico. I sincerely wish the LCBO would go back to large cabinet-style compartments for each bottle of wine instead of putting my safety in danger. Not everyone is six feet tall! I cannot comment on the new beer store as I never buy beer. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and there is ample parking but it is time for me to find another go-to for wine.

There's parking (not that I need it for my bike). It's conveniently located right on Queen, near a streetcar stop. But most importantly, it has the best selection of beer I've seen outside of the Summerhill LCBO. A large craft/micro section with many seasonals and rare brews you can't find at every LCBO. I went in two days in a row and found amazing things both days. Definitely the place to go in the area if you're a beer nerd like me.

I wanted to check out the latest new flavour, watermelon, from Cottage Springs vodka coolers. I thought that I didn't need a basket. I found my watermelon vodka coolers and grabbed a couple of cans. I then found Georgian Bay smashed tea and vodka smash cans, and picked up a couple. At the back of the store, a cheerful woman was dishing out samples of cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. She asked how I was. I said that I felt like a clown juggling cans of cooler, which made her laugh. My friend is a keeper. She went looking for a couple of baskets for us. She saved the day and my arms when I loaded all my cans into one of them. I sampled the cabernet sauvignon first. It was so good. It had hints of blackcurrant (love!) and blackberries. Both my friend and I sampled the chardonnay. It was light and crisp. As much as I loved both, I went with my first love, the cab, and grabbed a carton, which is recyclable. I then wanted to see if I could get sangria in a can. A helpful customer overheard me and pointed out the cans for me. Nice! I got the white sangria. I swiped my Air Miles card and paid for my goods with my debit card. I was so happy with my purchases. I got everything in a trusty brown paper bag and we both walked out with our goodies. The very kind gentleman brought my order out to my car and placed it in the trunk for a truly contactless service.

I saw the Beer Store next to it. I decided to pay it a visit. During this pandemic, I haven't had a huge need to get alcohol. I suppose that either I have a decent stash or I am simply not consuming as much alcohol these days. I like this store. The doors have motion sensors. I appreciate not tugging at a door these days and then sanitizing my hands. It also helps if you're hauling a 24-can case of beer and don't have any hands to pull at a door handle. It was a cool Wednesday evening. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I felt rather chilly after roughly ten minutes browsing around the fridge, which is essentially the entire store. It speaks volumes, as I tend to be a pretty warm individual (I'm talking about body temperature here, but you can speak about my personality, if you'd like). I really wanted a light sweater, so I decided to speed up my browsing. I am always pleased to see cans of Stella Artois. I have a decent supply at home, so I didn't need any. I was looking for more beer flavours with fruity notes. I got a can of MadJack hard watermelon beer. I also got a can of Clubtails Strawberry Colada cocktail. I like that I can get nicely chilled beer or a premixed cocktail, and try them out by can, rather than committing to a pack. Although the store has markers on the floor to stand before you get to the cashier and arrows to indicate the direction in which you should walk, customers can't follow instructions at this store. I had one man and one woman get super close to me, walking towards me. I was going in the right direction! I was so grateful that they were driving towards me in vehicles. It's not rocket science to follow arrows. Apparently, they have proven me wrong. The woman at the cashout area was nice. Behind tall Plexiglass, I turned my cans so that she could scan the barcode on each one through it. I paid using my debit card. I tapped and was set. I got my receipt, thanked her, and happily walked to my car to put my beer away. I'm glad that I hit this Beer Store. It killed enough time for me to pick up my takeout. I also got some beer and a cocktail. You can't control customers who go into a store that sells beer. Maybe their consuming some will make them follow the arrows afterwards and provide some clarity.
