I didn't think it was possible to write a bad review about a Beer store but here goes. It's a good thing that my first experience was super positive with the staff or I would've given this location one star.
The first time I visited this brand new location I was overwhelmed with how pleasant the staff were. It's a self-serve location and one of them approached me twice to ask if he could help me with anything. Normally I would find this pretty annoying but we was so darn sincere, I was pretty impressed. So that experience accounts for the two stars.
My second experience was when I was returning my post Christmas season empties. The young guy first gave me attitude when I started packing my import beer bottles in with the rest of my empty liquour bottles. Then he apparently had a problem with how I loaded my six packs into their cardboard cases. All the while, he stood behind the register without lifting a hand although there was absolutely no-one else either before me or after me.
I'm a pretty patient guy who can put up with a lot of rude behaviour but it's a miracle that I didn't lose my cool. When he asked if I wanted to buy anything, I said "no thanks" took my money and promptly drove off to another Beer Store a couple of kms away.
Although this location is closer to where I live, I have no intention of returning to be given attitude.
This is what happens when a government-run business has a monopoly of everything. The service levels drop.
If you go there, make sure you dust off your BRC (Bottle Return Certificate) or risk the wrath of a rude, un-helpful, abrasive and arrogant young employee. read more
