The shop at the front is small, but well laid out showing art on the walls and other crafts around the area. These include jewellery, wood turning, ceramics, art clay pieces, mixed media art etc. There are also a number of other gallery rooms and an outside studio. The owner also gives art lesson to children and adults alike. It's a lovely place and is worth a visit and is very well worth supporting.

With a fantastic location opposite the entrance to King's College, this is a great place to come in and browse - and for that reason, if you want some buying advice, you may have to wait a while due to the sheer number of people who wander in. However, the staff do really know their stuff and are extremely helpful, even for novices who might feel a little intimidated. I first went in with only a vague idea of the kind of thing I wanted and came away with much useful information. Later, having bought the prints we wanted, we took them to the Lawson Framing Gallery and had them expertly mounted and framed.

This is a great little art gallery in the centre of Bury St. Edmunds. It is in a grade I listed…read morebuilding. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there is a small library where you can relax, read art books and have a coffee. They also have a craft/gift/book shop. The Suffolk Showcase exhibition was on when I visited and there was some very good work. The gallery has a constantly changing exhibition space and admission is now free of charge. I would certainly recommend a visit next time you're in town.

CHristchurch mansion is a lovely step back in time to centuries gone by. You can walk through many…read morerooms, decked out as they would have been in the period they depict. You can get to within inches of most exhibits, though some of the ancient toys are now behind glass, as are some of the more delicate textiles. My favourite rooms are the stunningly oak carved, pannelled bedroom, the washroom and working kitchen (though last time I went there were plans to move the teashop here!) and the sturdy/estate managers office. There are free questionaires and activity sheets for children and useful guides and staff to assist as you tour. There is a super gift are and a tea shop too. There is also now an art gallery which hosts regular showings throughout the year. Christchurch mansion is situated in Christchurch park in the centre of Ipswich and is not far form town centre car parks. It is well worth a visit and if the weather is good the park is a beautiful palce to spend time too.
