Honestly, this was one of the worst haircuts my husband has ever gotten. We were extremely disappointed with the result. The haircut was uneven, poorly blended, and looked nothing like what he asked for. It was bad enough that he had to go home and try to fix what could be fixed. We understand that mistakes can happen, but for the price you pay at a professional barbershop, we expected much better. Unfortunately, he left very unhappy and embarrassed about his haircut. We definitely won't be coming back and would not recommend this place based on our experience. read more

I sadly can never return to the barbers. I take both my boys here for haircuts and I've taken them probably five or six times. For $27 plus tip, I don't expect the greatest haircut and they never are, they're pretty mediocre. I have been told by The Barbers many times that if my kid just wants a simple line on the side of his head, there's no design fee, but if they want to do a lightning bolt or something like that, it's a $10 design fee, I totally get it. Today after getting another mediocre haircut and after having to hairdresser to please fix my son's hair because it was so uneven, I was charged $10 for two little lines on the side. I explained to the girl that she has told me many times if they just want to have a little line it's no fee and if it's a lightning bolt, it's a $10 fee. She refused to remove the fee. Paying $37 plus tip for a very mediocre haircut (that is still uneven) on a five year-old that took about 7 minutes, I can honestly never return here. She butchered my poor babies hair and he cried his eyes out the entire way home. I'm editing the review to add one more star because I was reached out to by the manager and she agreed that this was a terrible haircut and refunded me. She offered to fix it, but I had already taken scissors to my son's hair myself to attempt a fix. I appreciated her acknowledging that the haircut was not good, apologizing to me and offering to fix it as well as reimbursing me. That is great management. read more

Their scheduling is awful. You can only view the schedule for that same day and schedule for that same day. My son wanted his haircut by a specific employee and I checked the schedule every day but she was never working so I eventually called and explained the issue which they replied oh, you can try it again at midnight the schedule will reset..I said seriously lol you can't help me out so they made a one time exception and scheduled me for the next day. I've had the same issues trying to get another appointment so we've moved on... read more

In the window is a sign, walk ins welcome. i walk in and three people ask me separately if i have an appointment. Then i am told it will be almost an hour For a 'walk in haircut'. That does not sound welcome. Then i am told 10 mins. then 40 mins. Less than a quarter mile away on 78th. Cheaper haircut no wait. They too have a walk in welcome sign. Sports clips is good too. Used to get my hair cut here all the time and over the course of a few months the service just slowly got worse. Went back for an appointment and the barber was not even there and ended up being late. I was on a schedule so I had to leave. That'll be the last time I attempt to get a cut from here. read more

This establishment has "Walk in" on their door. To me, it would indicate that they are always ready to seat you and begin cutting hair with possibly a short wait. When I walked in and asked for my son to get a hair cut, I was told it would be a 2 hour wait. The last 3 times I've "walked in" , it's always about a 2 hour wait. For the cost, it's not worth waiting 2 hours for a simple hair cut. There are far too many shops around for that. I suggested they remove the " walk in " sign and put "by appointment only" in its place by which the guy got defensive and bid me and my son to have a good day. I won't ever darken their door again. The barbers say on the door "walk in" but are never available for walk in so you make an appointment for a specific time and still end up waiting 30 minutes to get your hair cut. Incredibly frustrating.... What's the point of making an appointment? It happens every time I come here too. I do not recommend. read more

Went in yesterday to get a haircut and beard trim. Got my hair cut by Devyn. He was friendly no complaints there... but I did receive two separate haircuts and beard trimmings. One on each side of my face. When returning the following morning to get it fixed I learned I'd I have to wait the entire day to come back to get it fixed? Why do I the customer have to work around you for your mistake? I'm here in front of you with no one in line. Tell the next customer you messed up some hair and need to fix it before you can get them in. It would have took 10 minutes. Oh or I could come back the following day. No thanks, I'll just go somewhere else. I've been coming here for the last 3 years. No more. I tipped for this. LOL. A joke of an establishment look elsewhere for your haircut if you don't have time for games. It's no wonder they can't keep the same barbers in for more than a few months. Every time I come here the last person that cut my hair no longer works here.. wonder why. They hire anyone straight out of cosmetology school and then full book them and expect them to be perfect. My complaint is not about the barber himself, as a business owner I understand mistakes. But the process to fix the mistake? A complete joke. If you're going to over book your barbers allow for time for mistakes because it happens dang near every other haircut here. Devyn gave a decent haircut, I was his last client of the day. he messed up the line up on my beard in one side and my fade line was not lined up with the other side the best. I wouldn't hold it against him if I saw him at another establishment my complaint is not against the actual barber but "the barbers" as a whole. My husband got a haircut by a female employee and was relentlessly roasted by her for going bald. She wouldn't stop telling him he's bald, asking him if he's aware he's bald, telling him he's not fooling anyone with his combover. How inappropriate as an employee and a representative of Barbers. I took my son here the other day for a trim. I let the stylist know that he was growing his hair out and to just trim up the back a little bit. His hair was already evenly down to his chin. She proceeded to cut 2 to 3 inches off all around, gave him short bangs and what can best be described as a choppy bowl cut or a Dumb and Dumber special. I was in shock when I saw it. Needless to say we won't be back, had to go to a different shop to fix the mess. Also, the hair stylist kept taking phone calls and talking to people throughout the cut, she seemed very distracted. As soon as my sons (who have gorgeous curly hair) came in and sat down, the stylist rudely asked "Do you guys even brush your hair?" YOU DON'T BRUSH CURLY HAIR...you would think a hair stylist would know that. However, that would not be the last disrespectful act they would experience as she then proceeded to make them brush their hair like it was some type of punishment. She then proceeded to cut way too much off, since she no longer had their curls to help guide her, which strongly led me to believe whether or not the people at this establishment are actually qualified to do their jobs. To this lady, I ask- "Do you even know how to cut hair?" The vibe was just very negative and disrespectful. I have been bringing 4 sons for years, so it's a shame that we will now have to find a new place since I don't think my boys deserve to have their ethnic hair so egregiously disrespected. read more

Gloria is amazing! She's been cutting my hair for probably 7-8 years now, and is the ONLY person I trust! I drive from Kelso specifically to get my cut - at least twice a month, if not more. I followed her from Hazel Dell to The Mill when she was promoted to manager. I'm excited to follow her back to Hazel Dell now that she has had the opportunity to accept the manager position at this location. Just had my first visit at The Barbers in Hazel Dell. I left another establishment after my hair stylist left. Lo and behold, much to my great surprise my hair stylist who used to cut my hair happened to be there as well. Mercie is awesome! She is meticulous, detail oriented, and provides outstanding service. She is great to talk to also. I have been using this location for about 2 years and I like it. The girls are always friendly and they seem to be good at my style of haircut, a #3 shaver on the sides and finger length on top. I go for the "Works" which included a wash, a cut, straight razor shaved neck, and a shoulder rub for $19.95. They are good at adding extra stylists during the busy times to keep the wait down. They accept reservations but I never make them and I haven't had to wait more than 20 minutes. The only thing that would make it better would be girly magazines! read more

I had a great experience here. The lady that cut my hair had the most attention to detail I have ever had. I felt very confident in the haircut when I was leaving. Furthermore, I went to a different location and they were unexpectedly closed, but a guy came out and apologized and gave me a card for a free haircut at any of the other locations. This is the type of service that will ensure my business in the future. I would highly recommend any guy to go in. Sherry is tops as a barber. I've lived here 12 years and went to the Salmon Creek location for haircuts. Was getting good cuts and value for my money until I got Sherry about 5 - 6 years ago. Stuck with her for cuts and - when she got transferred to Hazel Dell (as a manager) - I went with her. It's farther to drive but she's worth it.
