Walked in without a reservation. Served drinks while waiting in their lobby area. Waited about 20…read moreminutes before we were seated. Ordered the usual, papadam appetizer. There was 5 of us. Papadams came out. The dipping sauces were sorry! Pickles for dipping sauces? I hardly know any Indians who can even stomach pickles, why serve them for a general consumption, when most your patrons are multinational? Other dipping sauces including chutney, it was OK, and a yogurt blend, that was nice but only 3 sauces to chose from and no one wanted to eat the pickle. Ordered coconut rice from off the menu, it was nice of them to accommodate me, but it had very little coconut flavor, mainly butter and a slight hint of coconut but far from the actual coconut rice I was expecting. I had a medium spicy lamb dish, but it was very much on the spicy side, had acid reflux the rest of the night, couldn't tell if it was from my dish or the pickle that I ate with the papadam. My friends ordered the chicken korma which I tried, it was delicious and I should have ordered that as well. Also tasted their chicken tikka, it was nice and a friend ordered a kind prawn dish and it looked lush. All my friends ordered the pilau rice but it was uneventful, it was just pilau with a hint of tikka flavor, tasted too much similar to the tikka chicken kebabs I get from the kebab houses all around England. Service was good but also weird, I know my Indian food, so the waiters were impressed with my knowledge but I could sweat at one point when one was showing me a suggested item on the menu, his hand brushed up against my breast which totally freaked me out, cheap grab, love getting man handled while dining. Had better Indian in my life time, won't lose sleep if I don't ever make it back to this establishment. To feed 5 cost £90.00.

Shocking service!! But worth it if you want a laugh!! After…read morebeing asked to sit behind a Christmas Tree whilst waiting for our table we thought things were not going to get any worse, oh in hindsight how naive we were! Once seated we were bought poppadoms and pickles, more on these later, then waited an age for service. Nothing happening! Eventually gave up and walked over to the manager to complain. Somebody soon arrived to take a drinks order, but wouldn't take a food order, more waiting another request for service. The manager then came over and took our starter order, but walked off before we could tell him what we wanted for mains! After another complaint, now more complaints than I have ever made ever! Somebody took our main order. The starter arrived without incident and was very nice. Eventually the main course arrived, again very nice food. At this point things were looking up, we thought, but decades seemed to past with others being served before anyone came to clear our plates. This after we had already complained a number of times. We asked for some of the main course in a doggy bag. Which they offered to do without hesitation. We also asked for a desert menu. This never arrived. At this point I gave up waiting and did something I have never done before.... I rang the restaurant to ask for a dessert menu!! Clearly this wasn't as uncommon for them as it was for me. As like a shot he asked if I was on the left or the right of the restaurant!! :-) The manager said (not apologized) that their service to us had been like Faulty Towers. I will not bore you with the complications over dessert as I have dragged on too long already. Lets cut to the chase and how we were dealt with after such awful service. The manager said we would be given free drinks and he would sort things on the bill. Once the bill arrived nothing had been removed. Then he offered to give 10% and a round of drinks. We explained that we no longer wanted any drinks but we would take 10% and a tenner for the drinks we could have had. Apparently they never give more than 10%. At this point, we questioned why there was an additional charge on the starter. Apparently the complimentary poppadoms and pickles are not so complementary. After much discussion, he begrudgingly offered 12%. We gave up. He rounded the bill down from £54 to £50. We left, without a decent discount, and without the doggy bag requested. Half way down the road the manager stopped us to hand over the doggy bag and to tell us that if we came back and got the same level of service he would give us 50%. Somehow I don't think so!!
