It's also a great way to get together with old friends throw some balls around and catch up during otherwise busy lives. The league so far has Volleyball, Kickball, Softball, Football, Dodgeball, Bowling, Cornhole, Basketball, and the occasional bar crawl. The commissioner has put together a league geared more towards fun and friends vs strict and overly competitive. They have made everything very approachable and are always looking to make sure games are well run. And the refs always make the games fun and fair in accordance with FSS rules. So if your looking to get out there, be active, but most of all have a great time this is the league for you.

The refs and umps don't know the rules and are lazy. Second,it's over-priced at $65. The fields are at Oregon Ridge are horrible but that's the counties fault. The rules they impose are stupid. In softball they don't allow sliding because they're afraid someone will get hurt. Then don't play! The football rules are hats with brims must be worn backwards so no contact and no sunglasses but they slide on that. Besides,I told them mine are prescription and I'm wearing them anyway. There is supposed to be no drinking,but even the umps do it while calling a game.

You don't have to be PTO employee to join the gym, though you will need to register for a badge to enter the building (no fee nor obtaining the badge is that difficult). Go in as visitor to the gym (the security guard to the building are super friendly too), let the gym staff show you around and price range. If you decided to quit the gym and leave they give you back remaining amount (i.e. sign up in Jan, and want to quite in June? they refund you the amount even in the middle of month and year). The only downside to this gym is that it closes according to the federal government operation (snow days, delays, and holidays) and compare to other gyms their operation hours are somewhat limited (closed on Sundays, and weekdays closes by 8:30PM).

I went to this gym in the beginning of June as a guest of one of the fitness instructors. I was truly impressed by the professionalism, the equipment and the number of group fitness classes (M-F only). This is not your typical "we have a fitness center in our office building to show people we care about your health gym" but rather a top notch facility that people outside of the PTO would pay a competitive price for.

There are 2 large fields with a small one for kids or for practice. The netting to prevent damages from the balls need to be replaced. There's a small concession stand. The restrooms (at least, the mens) needs to be renovated and have everything running smoothly. A couple of shower stalls are available for players. I was there all day. Towards the end of the day, it was stuffy from the players sweating. The ventilation system need to be upgraded. It could use a fresh coat of paint. Other than that, it's a decent place for soccer fun.

I am a fan of the Clinton Boys and Girls Club. I was a member of of the club back in the 80s and…read moreenjoyed every minute of it. Played on the 95 lb and 110 lb football teams. It was an important part of my upbringing and part of who I am today. The Club was founded in 1964 as a chapter of the National Boys and Girls Club and is the first in the State of Maryland to hold that distinction. They offer soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading and my sport, football. You can do recreational leagues or travel leagues (which they did not have when I was coming up), if you so choose. They have some of the best facilities that you can find at any Boys and Girls Club in the area. The ages run from 3 to 16 years old and they have some really good volunteer coaches. The people filling those roles are not just coaches, but they are role models. Their field is located behind the Clinton Library is is a first class field that has a lighted football field with scoreboard, bleachers and elevated announcer's booth. There is also a shelter there with picnic tables under it and more than ample parking available. You will also find 3 softball/baseball fields, some soccer fields and a bunch of green space here too. The grounds are maintained pretty well and the field is closed to vehicle traffic outside of an event or practice occurring there. This is a first class organization and the fees to participate are very reasonable. I highly recommend this Club for kids. It teaches them more than just a sport as it was vital to my development of friendships, and as a person.
