The croissant was average, though I appreciated the smaller size compared to the oversized ones you usually see. The barista was knowledgeable and genuinely engaged with customers, which made the experience stand out. One downside: the Wi-Fi was slow, even when it wasn't busy, so I ended up using my phone hotspot. I'd come back to try the matcha and explore more of the food menu.

The coffee shop is part of a shopping strip that includes other popular businesses like Aji Ramen and Hoodadak. The ambiance and decor are quite lovely! The cafe is much larger inside than I expected, and it was super clean with good, reliable WiFi. We just stopped by for a few minutes and were recommended the honey nut latte as one of their more popular drinks. We got it hot. It was perfect! Not too hot, definitely not cold, great flavor, strong coffee flavor, and not too sweet. There's also a wall of fancy teas that's definitely worth checking out. (See my photo.) Service was also good! Nice, kind employee and the drink came out quickly. Luckily there wasn't a line when I arrived and only 2 other people in the cafe chatting at the time. It didn't take too long to come out -- 5-10 minutes for the coffee, 15- 20 minutes for the food. We enjoyed our nearly two hours there and never felt we were rushed. Each matcha is $8.5. They claim to use ceremonial grade matcha but under the matcha latte list, there is only one drink labeled CG (ceremonial grade) while others do not. The CG is the basic and they use agave for sweetening. They also don't hand mix per cup. It is pre-batched. I'm not a pre-batch hater although I do prefer each cup to be hand mixed, so I will give it a chance if it tastes good. The CG latte was surprisingly smooth and pretty good! Not bitter at all imo, but it was slightly grainy. They used the perfect amount of agave to balance. It wasn't sweet either. Just perfect balanced flavor for a regular CG matcha latte. The other matcha latte I ordered was the banana. It is SO GOOD! A lot grainier than the CG, though. But I would definitely order that again if I come to Katy. It has a cinnamon flavor in it (probably why it felt grainier than CG) and mixed with the banana flavor was just very yummy. Highly recommend!

From what I understand, they're also willing to remake or adjust drinks if there's an issue though I've never had to do that, even during busy times or when they're hosting events and pop-ups. So please double check with barista/management. One of the things I love about this locally owned coffee shop is their food. It's actually filling, which isn't always the case with cafés. My favorites are the honey garlic toast, bagels with cream cheese, and the buldak pizza. The shop itself is clean, well-maintained, and the restroom is always fresh, which I really notice and appreciate. There's typically a barista at the front to take orders, and when it gets busy, there's also a kiosk available. The layout is clear, with signs showing where to order and pick up, so it's easy to navigate. They also host events and offer space for meetings or casual hangouts, which adds to the community feel. It's a great spot to relax, read, study, or get work done. If I lived closer, I'd probably be here all the time. Patty's is set up for orders at a counter in the back of dining room then take a number to the table for delivery. The dining room is very bright and simply decorated but spacious for a bistro. I ordered the Grandma's Morning Casserole and it was a solid 5/5 with great quality sausage and bacon. Everything about the dish is near perfect, especially the tasty crispy tater tots. My request for a croissant with the breakfast was honored and it was delicious. This gave me idea to check out more baked good from the showcase. I purchased a carrot cake to go and later wished I had bought two. The cake wasn't the traditional style with nuts and shredded carrots. Instead, the cake was the consistency of pound cake that came covered in a rich chocolate drizzled over the top. Perhaps, I got lucky with my first impression but I'm eager to give them another opportunity to repeat the great experience.

Although it is not on their menu, the barista gladly said she would try to do her best. I provided directions on the espresso to milk ratio for a cortado & she absolutely nailed it. The coffee was robust & without the traditional vanilla syrup available, a little brown sugar added made the drink great. I will definitely return. I'll try their lunch menu next time.
