The Mr knew about the newly opened Quanah Schott from a coworker so we thought it was the perfect…read moreoccasion to grab some pastries for lunch with the parents Extremely nice staff, explained to us that they supply some pastries and all their macarons for a nearby 3-Michelin star restaurant so we knew we were in for a treat We chose 1 of each cake / pastry and have to say there were eye rolls from our parents and us alike....the complexities of flavor layers and the intensity and depth of tastes were top notch! We enjoyed * Tahitian Vanilla Cake * Mango Cheesecake * Chocolate and Pistachio cake * Pistachio cherry eclair * Double chocolate torte * Passion fruit and lime bombe with strawberry * Lemon and lime torte * Der Macaron - this was a huge macaron with passion fruit and fresh raspberries. Simply amazing! We also got 1 of each of the macarons and have to say they rank among our favorites.....not as light as Laudree and we liken them more towards a Pierre Herme.....the filling is thicker like PH & the flavors compliment each other extremely well Our favorites were the strawberry, the caramel, the pistachio, and the chocolate. The macaron had a lovely crackle outer layer but soft and chewy inner part that melted with the creamy filling Can't speak highly enough about Quanah Schott!!

Picked up a butter-mandelstollen for the holidays. It looks like a loaf of almond bread with lots…read moreof powdered sugar all over. There were lots of whole almonds and hazelnuts along with hunks of marzipan and the anise-candied fruit pieces that define German holiday cakes. Brought this over to the Mr's parents for our get together and they enjoyed it a lot Mom chose an apple tart slice that was out of this world I chose the gingerbread Santa. Lots of shredded pieces of ginger in the cake and a slightly sweet flavor Lots of chocolates and sweet treats to be found - huge fans!
