Stopped in here for being highly rated for not only cakes but more specifically carrot cake. The staff was friendly and there's tons of baked goods all around the small space. Your head almost spins trying to see everything. Thankfully I was there for one thing. I ordered the slice of carrot cake which was pre cut. Which I typically try to avoid but they said that's what they had. We chatted briefly about extremely sweet icing and cake preferences before paying and leaving. The cake itself almost had zero sweetness to it which made the icing taste extremely sweet and unbalanced between to two. Even by itself the icing was very sweet. The cake , probably because it was precut and sitting for who knows how long, wasn't very moist. While not unbearably dry it was pushing the line of being too dry. I think a fresh cut slice would be way better moisture wise, but still unbalanced sweetness. I'd like to see what else the city a has to offer cake wise but I wouldn't call this one particularly great. I'd call this 2.5/5 but can't give half star reviews. This is one of my favorite bakeries. I especially like their pumpkin bread in the fall. Service has always been excellent.

Was it good? Yes. Was I understanding the fuss? No. I will say I was there Easter weekend so I'm sure that my tiny order wasn't a big deal but I almost felt like a huge bother being there. My wife used this bakery for our wedding sweets. This consisted of a round buttercream cake and 2 dozen beautiful petit fours. "Sara" and her team went above and beyond our expectations. They customized our petit fours and worked with our florist (Dahlia A) to make our cake unique and perfect to celebrate our big day! First time going by my husband and I. We went around the middle of December. We picked up a few things to try. Was not disappointed.

Was in town visiting friends and wanted them to bring me by a bakery I could take a cookie with me to the airport. They insisted we go here because they knew Connie, the owner and wanted to make sure she got the business. At first, I really didn't understand the big deal, but after going - I get it. She came out and greeted us and was extremely kind! She recommended her pretzels, which I wasn't sure since I was there for something sweet. More on that later. Y'all...it was phenomenal!! I got back to TX last night and looked around to see if there were any other bakeries by me that offered the same. There sadly isn't. BUT I am still day dreaming about that soft and pillowy, delicious pretzel. It was perfect! I also got the chocolate chip cookie and the tuxedo black & white cookie and they were also very soft and crunchy, which is opposite but you know what I mean. If you go - try the pretzels. Fantastic! Ordered a last minute birthday cake, strawberry with strawberry cream cheese. Beautiful, delightful and the cutest place.

I stopped in here during a work trip to Greenville, and I ended up buying several things for my Columbia tailgate: a marble cake, Petit fours, a bag of s'mores treats, and a bag of white chocolate crunchies. My favorite thing was probably the almond Petit four, but everything was delicious. Customer service was excellent, with two different staff people helping me make my selections. I think one may have been the owner but I'm not sure. This place is one of my new favorite places in Greenville. I'll be back. read more

Wow ! I was on a mission to grab a dessert for a birthday dinner. I encourage you to go early if you are looking for the " famous cream cheese danish " we were too late. But the mission was Cupcakes. They had Salted Carmel , Chocolate with a sweet surprise in the middle, red velvet, strawberry, coconut and peanut butter chocolate. Everyone was so excited of how pretty they were but they even tasted better. Very fresh and moist. They were definitely a hit. These guys were awesome and so was their cake. My daughter is finishing her residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital. It was her birthday, she was working and was sick. I live in Atlanta do not nearby. These guys baked a fabulous red velvet cake, one of the only types of cake my daughter likes, and delivered it to the hospital for me, and they do not do delivery! This group went above and beyond to help brighten my daughters otherwise dreary day. I love Greenville and the people who call this place home! These guys were stellar! So I just moved to Greenville last week and this place is literally 3 houses down from me. I have only tried some cookies so far and omG hello chewy chocolate walnut (which also happens to be gluten-free)!! This is dangerous bc I know I'll be here way too much and will be updating my review with more specifics. Update: "Chewies" are still my favorite cookie there. I love their strawberry cupcake and their chocolate cupcake too (which has a light whipped cream in the center!) and the turtles that are prepackaged and located on the shelf to the right. I've also ordered their beautiful sunflower cake a couple times as gifts when visiting folks. It really does become the talk of the table. I have had several delicious treats from this bakery, but never ventured over to make a purchase until my husband's birthday on Sept. 3. I purchased a strawberry cake with buttercream icing after a difficult time making a decision from the options available. It was fabulous!!!! Each year my husband's grandmother would bake strawberry cakes for his birthday. She passed away several years ago and I've taken up the tradition using her old cookbook and recipe. This year, we had quite a few more adventures planned and I didn't have the time I needed to bake - so after much consideration I decided to go with The Bakery Off Augusta to fulfill this task. Placing my order over the phone was quick and very easy. Everyone I spoke to was very nice and listened to all of my concerns intently and with care. On his birthday, pickup was swift and everything was in order. The cake was strawberry with strawberry cream cheese filling and icing. While he did still enjoy the cake, it was somewhat of a disappointment. The icing was very overly sweet with only a slight hint of strawberry flavor. There was very little icing in between the layers, and we could only just barely tell that it was cream cheese. The cake itself was dense and not very moist, and again hardly any strawberry flavor. I'd love to give the bakery another shot as I'm sure their other baked goods are delightful (it smelled absolutely wonderful inside!), but I won't be trying another strawberry cake from them. read more

This is a quaint neighborhood bakery and is tucked away off Augusta Street and has some of the best cupcakes, cakes, and pies in town. They even have gluten free options for those with wheat allergies or sensitivities. I would not recommend this for someone with Celiac since the possibility of cross-contamination is very high. Had been there a few times prior, but after the detailed care taken to make our wedding cake and other miscellaneous desserts perfect, not to mention the price, we have made a point to go back for any future bakery needs! I'm not sure if they still do this, but as part of the price of the weddding cake they included a fresh topper for you to eat on your 1year anniversary.
