Knights Of Columbus

Oh man. I went to a wedding and because of the last few family weddings, I wasn't expecting much…read more I forgot though, this side of the family knows how to party. They also make the best use of whatever space they choose....and Knights of Columbus was great! Their banquet hall (or, whatever it was) was HUGE. I'm guessing there were about 150 people at the wedding, but it never felt crowded. I don't know if there are restrictions as far as decorating, but my family kept it simple and it worked for them. The ooooooonly thing I thought was going to be a problem was the dance floor, but it was apparently the right size because it was never empty. I did bump into a few people while doing the Cupid Shuffle, but I blame their lack of coordination and not the size of the dance floor. I really didn't know what to expect, but this was one of the nicer reception halls I've been to in awhile. Wasn't expecting this from the outside at all. Not sure if there is a parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking.

Phenomenal THE…read moreFIRESIDE ROOM The owners and staff who operate this hidden gem offer their clients a masterclass experience. We booked their space for a Repast for our Uncle on September 28. This was for 80 guests. The attention to detail and level of professionalism that was shown by this family owned team is nothing short of amazing. I honestly say without question that if you're in the market for the best event rental space experience this side of the Mason Dixie, look no further than THE FIRESIDE ROOM. Suzi and her staff WILL NOT disappoint you. My wife felt spoiled during the event. I honestly have nothing critical to say about this experience. I can only stress to all readers of this review how truly amazing this experience was and implore you to experience this for yourself. Book soon and often because that's definitely what my wife and I plan to do. To Suzi and team - I am sincerely grateful for the support and service you provided to our family during this somber time. I wish you continued success and look forward to seeing you soon for another event in the future.

This is a brand new bar near the train station. It's hard to find, but trust me, don't go looking…read morefor it. It's tiny and still manages to be almost empty most of the time. The clientele is mostly older folks who keep to themselves - I can't even say locals. There appear to be a few regulars and one brought a large party. They then hogged karaoke on Friday night. Which is their prerogative, they stood in line and that's fine. But my experience was extremely underwhelming. I've been to much more positive places where people interact and there is room to sit, stand, and mingle. Here, you grab a table and try not to make eye contact with anyone else. It's depressing, THERE IS NO BEER ON TAP WHATSOEVER (this is a bar?! really?!), and cramped. Go walk or drive out of downtown if you have to, this is not the place you seek for fun.

This bar is known for its great karaoke, and is full of some of the best singers around! It's been an established bar for a long time, and the people there are very friendly to newcomers who want to have a good time. After 20 years of going pretty much nowhere else in town, I have come to be connected to the crowd, the owner, the whole Out on a Limb "Family". Hard not to when you like a place enough to spend your time there for 20 years.
