The choice seems to be unimaginative but it is the best choice of the pubs in the area. I'm not sure if it is one to seek out for the real ale drinkers. Everything is just a little to mediocre. It did get in the Good Pub Guide though. It's 100 yards away from where I live but I seldom visit. Update. They have put a large Gazebo up for outside music and have a Double Decker Fun bus (At a charge) for the kids.

They have a small but decent range of ales on tap, including a local light IPA and a darker ale. They also had Aspall's cider which is always great to see, especially in summer. The lamb burger was recommended on trip advisor and I would second that - it's huge with a nice comb of minty mayonnaise and feta as toppings. Bf had fish and chips which he has had before so obviously likes. We didn't have to wait too long for the food and it came out hot. This is a great stop off from the Middlewood Way (and could form a Middlewood Way pub crawl with the Vale Inn in Bollington, the Miners Arms in Adlington, the Boar's Head in Higher Poynton, and the Station in Marple.

Today the service was excellent - super friendly in a low key way. Their range of beers seems to have increased sine I last went in, today they had a pale ale (brew dog?), hobgoblin, trooper and another decent ale. What lets it down for me is the TV in every corner showing sport which really isn't my thing and the atmosphere can be a little flat. It can be busy and livelier on a Saturday night. So not a bad pub, mainly just suffering from that Suberbia effect of not quite having enough customers to generate an atmosphere. Unless of course you know everyone there, because they are your neighbours!

First off it's cool but seriously feels like it could do with a bit more funding, it looks quite tired inside and is staffed by volunteers. I don't want to make too many comparisons with Manchester art gallery but it does seem like it hasn't had much attention for a while. There's currently a couple of good looking exhibits on at the moment, 'the abandoned world' on all sorts of venues that have been left to rot and one abstract one upstairs from Barry White (the painter, not the walrus of love!) I'd definitely come here again to check it out but it could do with a bit of attention and some love to bring it up to the standard of some of the galleries I've visited around the world.

I ended up here for a family birthday party. You know the kind - chilli and rice, saying hi to ancient relatives you barely know and then dancing drunkenly to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" as the lights go up at the end of the night after way too many gin and tonics. The main room of the Morley Green Club is great, with a small bar tucked in the corner, a kitchen at the back, a lovely high ceiling and a small stage at the far end. It was perfect for a drunken, fun, family gathering. If you'd like to become a member of the club then you get to feel the benefit of everything else this place offers. There are two snooker tables in the back room, which are well taken care of and tucked away from the bustle of the bar. The main bar is well decked out with comfortable seating where you can sit and enjoy some of the tasty ale on tap.

I have 2 myself, but I dont take them to the pub with me because I'm capable of consideration and wouldnt want to disrupt other customer's enjoyment. Its a shame the owners of this bar/kennels dont encourage the same level of consideration from their customers. The barking was excessive, and nobody wants dog hairs floating in their drink.
