We came here on a Saturday afternoon after discovering it was the highest rated place to eat in Dover on TripAdvisor.
From the outside the place looks somewhat non descript, perhaps even uninviting. Once you enter it still has all the hallmarks of a local pub for local people but don't let any of that put you off.
The staff were friendly, my 91 year old grandmother needs a wheelchair to get around and they didn't hesitate to shift chairs around to make sure she was comfortable without any prompting from us.
The real plus point for me however was just how good the food was. From an unassuming menu all four of us picked something different and all four meals were really good and fairly priced. When it got to dessert we had left it a bit late and the kitchen was shut but they didn't leave us craving something sweet, instead suggesting dessert items which we could still have as they did t involve any further preparation.
My banoffee pie was tip notch, the Baileys cheesecake looked good too. All home made as well, non of this off the shelf generic dessert selection you find in so many places.
I was very impressed with the whole experience. A point to note is that the review in French below is no longer correct and they now accept credit and debit cards here as a result of customer feedback. read more
