We wussed out on the doing the 50 classic route :( We climbed the South Butress which is a 3-4 pitch 5.6 route, with a nice 5.8 crack variation. We went for the crack and were glad we did, it eats up pro! Awesome views of Wolf's Head and the surrounding towers from the summit. Pretty straight-forward raps down.

Sinks Canyon is so named because of a rushing river that flows out of the mountains and through the canyon. Halfway down, the river turns (sinks) into a cavern and runs underground for 1/4 mile where it emerges in a pool called "The Rise". In the Rise there are Rainbow and Brown trout; the larger ones may weigh up to 12 lbs, but NO FISHING! For a quarter you can buy fish food to feed the fish, which is fun for everyone. A must-do if you are in the area! Also check out the Visitor Center. It is small, but is one of the best I've seen, and I've seen many. The wildlife is well displayed; and I loved the wildflower displays. The geologic rocks outside the visitor center are also A+. Well done, absolutely 5 stars.

Food was good, accommodations were good considering how far into the backcountry you are. Hard to beat the country - absolutely gorgeous! I had an unfortunate situation on the third day of my hunt when the mule I was riding spooked in the morning as we were riding through the pasture due to the free ranging stock stampeding towards us. I couldn't control this mule and she threw me off causing me to fracture discs in my back and tearing my right rotator cuff.  My hunt was over at that point as I couldn't hike or draw my bow. I was offered some basic first aid by Scott, the owner. He never offered to ride out and get me to a hospital. Further, after the hunt he never offered a refund of the balance of the hunt nor a discounted future hunt.  I tell you this to say, make sure you put thought into a horseback hunt. There was very little training on how to ride, so if you do decide to book with them, you may want to make sure you have some experience riding to mitigate the chances of a similar accident. Lastly, just know that if something were to happen, your expensive hunt will become a donation, with no care about your wellbeing nor professionalism or consideration with making things right.
